Good morning hagatha, Draclvr, soot, connie and everyone. Instant coffee and locally baked knäckebröd is available for emergency use until the DDB & DDWAB arrives. Over here somewhat chilly, 12 degrees celsius and mr Rain visits now and then. Probably good for the gardening and farming. Since the knäckebröd is well known here I'll write a line about Knäckebröd Blues in the Music section. Happy Sunday Gameboomers

Good Sunday morning! A little thunder and light rain this morning. Definitely cooled things off. I ended up turning the AC on yesterday because it was so muggy and hot, but I'm turning it off today. I'd much rather have the windows open.
NOW, it's time for me to start getting everything ready for summer guests. We are picking up the Germans from the airport in St. Louis on Wednesday, but they are staying with other family for a week as my son and his family from Denver will be arriving on Thursday. My house will never be ready for a magazine photo shoot, but I do at least like to make sure the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean. The Germans are family members of my husband's first wife who passed away in 1999. He met her while in the Army and stationed in Gerrmany in the 1960's. They will be here until the third week in July.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good afternoon MBDay630, Fogfighter, OldBroad, Draclvr, Connie, Gerry and everyone else who gets the chance to pop in. The lake get together was enjoyed by all as we concluded the fun today and everyone headed home. Yes indeed MBDay630, bananas are a great source of potassium...and I usually have one a day--I love them and WOM can't eat them once they get too ripe. Yes indeed OldBroad and Fogfighter...the matrix does glitch on occasion. Gerry, I used to get knäckebröd at our local World Market which carries international food products...but alas they closed our store. Hope shopping was fun Connie. We hit the feels-like 101 degrees temperature mark this afternoon...quite toasty! Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

We actually had late afternoon temperatures of 25 yesterday. Today was cooler, but I'm finally at the point where I don't get cold sitting in the house.
Didn't do much today, just went to Canadian Tire to buy some spray for the two wasp nests that have appeared on my eaves. The more active of the two is right over my outdoor furniture. I'll give them a good shot of the spray when it's dark and the flying menaces have gone to bed.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

LOL! I would have to leave the break room without my coffee if there were bananas! I literally cannot be in the same room with a banana. 77 years ago, there was no such thing as baby food, so the first thing mothers would feed their babies when they were introducing solid foods was mashed bananas with some milk and sugar. Mom said I spit it out and refused to eat it. My sister did the same thing and she loathes bananas to this day as much as I do!

Wow, some interesting banana talk! I eat one every day at lunch and my wife Linda has two, hers being mashed with a drop of cream and a pinch of brown sugar, but for both of us the problem is to have them just ripe enough so that we have to buy some while they are still green for a few days ahead... The other thing I always remember about bananas is that banana trees often house some very big SPIDERS I hope the week is getting off to a good start for all of you, without too much bananaphobia or arachnophobia!

Good morning everyone. I'll throw in some emergency use knäckebröd in the break room. No bananas, no spiders. Promise. Dracvlr: maybe you can ask the Germans if they are familiar with knäckebröd? Is possible they know it under the name Knäckebrot. Finally Monday again. Still chilly and rainy. Time to be somewhat productive over here. Happy Monday Gameboomers

Good morning all.
Willow has had a relapse and was howling full-tilt this morning. I have company coming in July and I had hoped she would have been re-trained by then, but I guess we'll just have to go to bed early.
We grew up on bananas, living in Sri Lanka. One of my first memories is getting carsick and being fed a banana. It always settled my stomach.
Another funny banana story: in Columbo, the zoo had a compound of chimps. Every day at tea-time the baby chimps would be gathered up into a viewing room and fed afternoon tea, with cups. It also included bananas, of course, but there was actual liquid in tea cups like a proper tea. My sister had been bad, having tried to murder me by pushing me off the highest diving board at the beach club, so I t was just me and my mother that day and I was allowed to take my afternoon tea and bananas with the baby chimps. To this day my mother kicks herself for not having her camera.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning Hagatha, Connie, Gerry, Lex, Fogfighter, Draclvr and all other visitors. Hagatha, what an incredible story about you having afternoon tea and bananas with the baby chimps. I wonder if Willow saw something out the window which sparked the full-tilt howling? Connie, the new building sounds wonderful...what timeframe for completion? Today is a glazed donut day! Gerry, the wide awake double dark brew has kept me going this morning...thanks! Fogfighter, the knäckebröd is a great addition to Connie's treats! We hit 101 (38C) yesterday ... it's official, summer has arrived in our neck of the woods. Were you a banana picker at one time Lex ... or on vacation and gave it a shot? A favorite sandwich of mine is banana, peanut butter and mayonaise! The wife prefers partially green bananas and thinks my banana sandwich sounds horrible. Draclvr, you have a banana memory for sure...to this day even! I imagine you avoid banana pudding too. Wishing you all a wonderful day!

OMG, the very thought of banana pudding makes me want to hurl! Banana cream pie? Urp...
Final load of bedding in the dryer and sleeping arrangements settled. Bring on the summer guests!

Oh, my goodness, oldbroad, that is so heartbreaking. I had one like that - loving, but psycho when confined. I feel so bad for your brother. I wonder if you could call the vet to see if you could get something to put in some food to calm her?

My vet gave me liquid gabapentin for when one of my cats gets antsy. Willow fights me when I try to cage her and it can be very stressful for both of us. It works well to calm her. Perhaps that would be a good solution.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. The WADDB smells great. Can't wait for the first cup of the day. I'll provide some emergency knäckebröd while we wait for the DDB. Mrs Sun and Mr Sunshine got company from Ms Cloud. So far Mr Rain hasn't shown up. He's probably exhausted after raving yesterday. Happy Tuesday Gameboomers
