Thanks for the information about St. John's Wort, Ana. There 's a LOT of it in this neighbourhood. People use it as ground cover. I'm sure there's something native that's equally pretty.
Right now, our local district is asking for volunteers to remove the local Scotch Broom plants. As far as invasive plants go, that's about the worst. It's literally everywhere across BC.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha, Fogfighter, Ana and everyone. Wide Awake Double dark Brew awaits to start your day! My Bill loved to work in the yard and manage the plants and flowers. We have "butterfly" bushes that attract the butterflies. It is still extremely hot and humid here...I hope to walk very early. Wishing you all a Happy Day! Gerry

Good morning everyone. Yet a morning saved by the WADDB. I add a few emergency rations of knäckebröd. Midsummer is approaching. A big thing here in the Nordic countries and around the Baltic Sea. Weather is pleasant again. 20 degrees and mostly sunny. Mr Rain seems to be exhausted after working so hard earlier this month. Happy Thursday GameBoomers

Good morning Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry, Hagatha, Ana, Draclvr, Mad, OldBroad and visitors. Ah yes Fogfighter, a morning saved by the WADDB and a bagel...wishing you very pleasant midsummer weather. Have fun at CVI tonight Connie. We got our walk in early Gerry...it's a must when our 'feels like temps' are in the triple digits...hope you got your walk in too. Hagatha, one of our largest invasive plant species is kudzu ... I'm always pulling it off our park fence and occasionally tackle the growth smothering trees. I used to see lots of butterflies spring and fall during migration periods, but their numbers have dwindled. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Good Thursday morning! Another scorcher ahead. The Germans are moving over here today. I have their room ready, but my kitchen floors are a disaster! It just may have to stay that way for a couple of days!
I finally got the weeds pulled in my 50 pepper plants. After hubby watered for 2 days, they took off and I couldn't even SEE my little plants. So I got my little garden kneeler bench to sit on and my little hatchet tool and went to work yesterday. I could only work about an hour at a time because it was so hot, but I got it done. Hubby hauled off almost a full wheelbarrow of weeds. My knees and back were singing to me, but I got a cold beer and jumped into the pool! After a shower, I felt much better.
So today, the floors will just have to stay yucky! I vacuumed up all the nightly cat hair, but that's it for the day!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning Gerry, Dan, Connie, Draclvr, Hagatha and everyone. Instant coffee and knäckebröd available for emergency use. Looks like it's going to be a sunny day again over here. People will not do much shopping today. Because holiday and many shops closed. Happy Saturday Gameboomers.

Good morning everyone.
After yesterday's glorious sun and heat, we're in a complete cloud-over. I went out for dinner with a friend last night, which wat was a nice change. I think today will be a gaming day, after a quick cleanup of the house. If I have the energy I'll spend an hour putting papers I no longer need into plastic file boxes and stow them in the crawl space.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! Forecast is 93, 95, 99, 96, 93, 90, 95..... you get the picture!
The Germans moved over here on Thursday. I made pancakes with eggs and bacon this morning. They love my strawberry syrup! Guenter is out on the pool deck power washing the railings and the deck floor. Hubby's back is better, but still not up to much work. And I've been working on what else??? Weeds! And I finally got that kitchen floor done - I had a leaking hummingbird feeder and it was sticky with sugar water, so had no choice.
My brother sent me pictures of all the flooding up in NW Iowa and SE South Dakota. The Big Sioux River is out of it's banks and people have lost homes and vehicles. A train derailed near my home town. Many people have flooding basements they can't keep up with. I think they had another 4" of rain overnight. The famous falls on the Sioux River in Sioux Falls, South Dakota are epic - my cousin posted drone footage. So much crop field damage too.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Hagatha, good to hear that you and the kitties are settling well into your new home and life, and good to see that Drac the human dynamo continues to put us all to shame despite creaking joints!
My grandson is about to take on the Grand to Grand, 275 kilometers of punishing terrain, and just reading about it makes me feel tired but he is a very fit 29 year old posting videos of scaling Half Dome...
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Good Morning everyone! Fogfighter I'm right behind you with my Wide Awake Double Dark Brew! I had a severe thunderstorm yesterday afternoon with a tornado warning! We never have those but it was issued for my little town and surrounding towns...very scary! I hope you all get relief from those high temps...no end in site for me...still extremely muggy and buggy! A good day to game...no walk yesterday...not sure about today yet. Enjoy a peaceful day! Gerry

Good Sunday morning Gerry, Fogfighter, Connie, Lex, Draclvr, Hagatha and everyone. 275 KM ... wow Lex, now that's a hike and will be a scenic journey for the memory books. I still remember my visit to the Grand Canyon...breathtaking & awe inspiring! Yes Draclvr, flooding is a powerful force of nature. Stay cool Connie and stay out of the triple digit heat! Gerry I do hope you don't get any more severe storms...and the weather cools enough for you to get in a walk...if not then 'gaming' is a great alternative. Fogfighter, thanks for the instant coffee and knäckebröd...most excellent refreshments before Wide Awake Double Dark Brew and Bagels made their entrance! Draclvr, hope you get some downtime to rest and recharge your batteries. Hagatha, did you still have energy to store papers? I have a couple of more tasks to take care of this morning and then I'm taking the rest of the day off to relax, color, draw and listen to my whale music Have a wonderful Sunday everyone...stay safe and stay cool.

Good morning.
Having woken up very early -- yes, it IS the sprinkler system making the noise I've been hearing and it must have woken me up this morning -- I've been doing a bit of a closet cleanout in my office and the cupboard is looking very organized.
It's pretty warm here, too, though still in the pleasant range. I had my windows open for the first time yesterday to let in the breeze and cool the place down.
Nothing much on the agenda for today -- some outdoor sweeping and I have to wash my car.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Sunday morning! And like Connie, we just continue with the blistering temps.
The flooding in NW Iowa and SE South Dakota has been on the national news. So much property damage with people losing homes and vehicles and crops. My sister said a baby had drowned and 8 people were missing. My brother said he had 11 inches in 72 hours. The rivers up there are different from what we have in Missouri. They are meandering affairs that just cut through the 20' of rich topsoil and just cannot handle this amount of rain.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.
