Good morning everyone.
I woke up very early this morning and no amount of lovely coffee seems to be waking me up. I foresee another lazy day coming up.
It's quite chilly in my house this morning. Our temperatures are still fairly low by August standards. I'd turn the fireplace on but the propene truck is coming this morning to top up my tank.
Dude seems to have had a fall and is limping. The very checked him out on Monday and it seems he's given himself a nasty bruise, nothing broken or sprained. The anti-inflammatory medication is working, though not very quickly, and he's getting quite audibly bored with indoor life. Yesterday he was literally running around on three legs at top speed -- maybe to prove to me that he was ok to go out? It was actually pretty funny. He'll have to be indoors until he stops limping, though. Could be a noisy weekend.
EDIT: And now the little twerp is gimping around outside at high speed, having ambushed the front door when I came in just now. I guess he's feeling okay, but I'm not sure I'll be able to catch him in time for his afternoon vet appointment.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Hagatha, Draclvr and all that follow. I enjoyed a mid 70s walk this morning with the humidity at 90% which tends to thicken the air Yep Gerry, September is knocking on the door signaling the close of summer...and most outdoor pools with the changing of the leaves. Did you get Dude to the vet yesterday Hagatha? Grocery shopping is on my list today with my projects and chores. Mmmm...coffee and bagels. T.G.I.F. good day to you all

Good morning everyone. It's a gorgeous day, and hopefully a return to some summer weather.
I have my Pilates this morning and then a bit later I'm meeting a friend for walk.
I didn't get Dude to his appointment. He came home around 4:30 in the afternoon, the rascal. His leg seems worse in the morning after he's been sleeping so I think the more he runs around the better, and he is limping a bit less. He's back to his cheery self, too. And he can still outrun Willow any day of the week. The vet doesn't seem overly concerned as long as I get the anti-inflammatories into him, so I'll give in to the inevitable and just let him do his thing.
I'm making a list of Fall and Winter chores. My garage is still in chaos and I want that sorted out. Also, I have many clothes that no longer get worn; John and I used to go out for dinner a couple of times a week and I no longer have use for any of the fancier stuff. It's a waste to keep them.
We're heading into the Labour Day weekend and all the tourists will be gone, meaning parking in town will be easier to find.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Friday morning! I'm late today because I slept in a bit. Another hot day ahead, but then some slight cooling down. We have the annual Labor Day weekend family BBQ rib picnic at hubby's sister's clubhouse down by the river on Sunday, so hoping for that nice mid-80's temp to show up!
We are in dire need of rain and hubby watered the sad tomato forest this week. I don't feel so bad because virtually no one has good tomatoes this year. I really need to get out there and start harvesting my peppers. My grandkids are already clamoring for my fermented hot sauce!
Date night with supper in town tonight.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Draclvr, Hagatha and all who follow. Enjoyed a 72 degree walk this morning and pass on the afternoon's triple digit temps. Just completed my Saturday recycle run and dropped off clothing, toys, knick-knacks, and other treasures at the local humane shelter's thrift store. After a little puzzle gardening this morning will be playing dungeons and dragons. Make the most of today and share a warm embrace with someone special.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Draclvr, Hagatha and all who pop in for coffee and a chat. The coffee is marvelous Gerry. I wish we had your 18 degrees Celsius Fogfighter! We'll be hovering around 100 F this afternoon. Grocery shopping is on my docket today. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and those last dips in the pool before they close for the year. Welcome to September! I am looking forward to crisp autumn air...

Good Sunday morning! I'm hoping we are past those 100 days here, soot. The family rib BBQ at my SIL's old clubhouse down by the river is today. I'm hoping it doesn't break 90 today as it gets mighty hot down there! I'm bringing some of the frozen sweet corn from last year. I'll just put it in a crock pot.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

No weekend barbeque for me, but I am having some home-made vegan chili with cilantro and avocado, and local corn picked this morning.
It's a gorgeous day and Dude and I have been sitting outside on the covered patio. A flock of ravens has moved into the neighbourhood and they are incredibly noisy, nattering and calling to each other. It's amusing now but I hope they don't stick around.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Days are getting shorter and the angle of the sun has changed...comes in the windows a bit different as it is lower in the sky. Hope you all have a sunny pleasant day to end the holiday weekend. The DDWAB is always great to start the day and the week. No extra long weekend over here. Just an ordinary Monday. Happy Monday GameBoomers

Good Monday morning! This is the official Labor Day of this holiday weekend in the US. Just a plain old Monday for us as we went to the huge family rib BBQ yesterday. We sat with one of hubby's second cousins and he told her lots of family stories about her family she never knew about. So they had a really nice time chatting.
Hubby was clearing out poke weed from a fence row that is really overgrown with honeysuckle. Poke is a 14 - 15 foot tall plant with poisonous purple berries, but leaves which are supposedly good to eat. You might remember an old song called "Poke Salad Annie." Anyway he ran into a nest of ground wasps and came tearing into the garage as they chased him! He said he didn't know an 80 year old man could run that fast. He got stung about 6 times. He went back out yesterday and sprayed a Hot Shot hornet spray in the hole - he could stay a good distance away that way! It's quite cool this morning, so he's heading out to spray down the hole again this morning.
Since this is right next to the tomato forest and I'm picking today, I hope he finally gets them all! Which reminds me - the dam*ed Asian hornets are back on the hummingbird feeders. Grrr... broke two fly swatters on them, so ordered a couple made with leather. They work much better!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone.
We're headed back to normal here, with the highway and roads free of travellers once again and parking readily available in town. I'm off to chair yoga this morning and then maybe a walk in the afternoon, as it's a lovely day.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
