Good morning everyone and thanks for WADDB Gerry.

Finally Monday again. Right now the weather over here is pleasant. Warm but not hot.

Tourists are showing up in town and those interested in sports follow the European football (soccer) championship going on in Germany.

Happy new week Gameboomers wave

Moanday moaning Gerry, Fogfighter, Connie, Lex, Draclvr, Hagatha and all that follow. The brew is marvelous Gerry thank you and I hope the weather breaks enough for you to get in a walk...glad you got your power back. Fogfighter, I'd love to have your temperatures rather than the 36 C we'll be having all week. I agree Gerry, we're praying the weather improves for all the disaster victims so they can start recovery operations. Take care everyone!

Good morning everyone.

We're still having some pretty nice temperatures. I even had to turn the fire on last night while I was watching TV because my feet were cold. I'd love to drink my coffee out on the patio, but morning temperatures are too cool for me. My old place faced East and got loads of morning sun; it's one thing I do miss.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday afternoon. Didn't make the break room this morning. Wanted to run some errands before it got too hot. It's 97 degrees here right now. The Germans spent the day in the shade by the pool. Petra is working on her "all-over" tan!

Doing some watering and moving hoses, but that's about all I did outside today! Actually did a little gaming in Fallout 4 because it's just too hot to do much of anything else!

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone. Gerry, good news you were able to get your walk in this morning. I enjoyed my walk this morning too and am currently enjoying your Wide Awake Double Dark Brew! That is a good temperature Fogfighter ... we were enjoying the same here this morning ... a most welcome break from the afternoon 39C+ temperatures. Think I'll have a Danish this morning Connie. Grocery shopping is on my docket this morning and then we'll see what's in store for the afternoon...

Take care everyone and stay out of trees!

Good Tuesday morning! A mere 97 degrees here today - nearly a cold snap compared to the last few days. And this is supposed to continue for another couple of weeks.

I don't have to mow today! While the Germans are here, they try to help out, especially with hubby still not 100%. So Guenter really wants to use the riding lawn tractor and I'm going to give him a short tutorial this morning.

Soot, the very idea of me being in a tree is pretty funny!

I'm off to Costco and Home Depot and Trail Appliances looking for a new fridge. The one that came with the house is an old Sears Kenmore and it's apparently on its last legs, so I need to get that sorted out. I think the previous owners of this place ran out of money while they were building it and so the fridge and washer/dryer are all older appliances, presumably from their previous home. It's time to get new ones.

Also, I'm putting together an emergency kit for the house. I bought two 3-day supply and first aid kits already, which have food bars and water, but I need to add things like cat food and bowls and litter and toilet paper and a tent. I'll also need a little stove. I have a good spot for it all right beside the garage door. Hopefully I'll never need it but we are in an earthquake zone.

Good Wednesday morning! Ah, how nice to enjoy my DDWAB with the window to the hummingbird porch open! Thunderstorms moved through about 7 pm and during the night significantly lowering the temps. They were "porch beer level" storms, so the Germans enjoyed them in the garage! The saying is that in the Midwest we get lawn chairs and beer to watch storms. Some cicada sized hail west of here, but just lots of rain here, so I can stop watering for awhile!

Your new addition to the Eagles sounds perfect, Connie.

And what a great idea to have some emergency supplies around, hagatha.

We are in a major earthquake zone here, and the Big One could happen at any time. On the eastern side of the Island we probably won't get enormous tidal wave damage, but even so I'm glad I'm in the high middle of this peninsula!

I'm trying to think of everything I might need. This doesn't seem like the kind of neighbourhood where it's everyone for themselves but I'd to make sure I can survive without help for at least a week if needed. I even bought a hand-crank solar radio that doubles as a battery charge for a phone, and a couple of lanterns that have 400 hours of light on a charge and only have to be charged up every few months.

We just had a major rainstorm, which is great for the garden. Looks like a rainy week ahead.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for DDWAB Gerry. I'll throw in some knäckebröd for emergency use.

Speaking of emergencies it really is a good idea to be prepared. I'm no prepper but think I could survive a week if cut off. Longer if the tap water keeps running. Fortunately we don't have earthquakes or tornados here but other calamities may happen. Come to think of it it could be a good idea to stock up a bit more.

Happy Thursday GameBoomers.

yay WADDB, DDB & knäckebröd! Gerry, Connie & Fogfighter U Rock.

Hagatha, having an emergency kit for the house is great ... like Connie, I keep a similar one here during hurricane season. I miss our older appliances, they were easier to fix before all this electronic innards came about. Draclvr, I don't know that I'll have little hummingbirds or not this year. I was gone during their normal migration. We had one little visitor last week...so keeping my fingers crossed we'll get some homesteaders. I remember porch beer level thunderstorm watching when I lived in Montana...awesome beauty. Gerry, happy to hear you're getting perfect walking weather. Fogfighter, the knäckebröd is outstanding...getting your additional stock is most excellent.

Keep your day filled with positivity and let your light shine.

Good morning everyone.

We ended up having a massive rain storm all afternoon yesterday, perfect for the very dry ground. Soon we'll have watering restrictions in place and I'll be back to hand-watering, though I did buy some soaker hoses, which are allowed. Not looking forward to lugging that 200 feet of hose around the garden though. For some reason the original owners didn't put hose bibs on each side of the house and it makes hand watering very cumbersome.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks for DDWAG. Glad the knäckebröd is appreciated. I'll add some more for emergency use until the DDB arrives.

Over here yet a warm, almost hot day. Rumor has it mr Rain is back with a vengeance after his absence. Heavy rains and lower temperature expected later today. That is welcome.

Happy Friday Gameboomers.
