T.G.I.F. good morning everyone. I am on my 2d cup of wide awake double dark brew too Gerry and with Connie's DDBs and Fogfighter's knäckebröd I am set for the day! We are cloudy and overcast today with a 50/50 chance of showers which is keeping the temps in low 90s here Fogfighter. Grocery shopping is on the docket today. Have a wonderful day everyone and soot!

Good morning everyone.
Looks like another overcast day today. I've got some paperwork to do. If it's not raining I might go for a walk.
Otherwise, I might make my third -- and last -- attempt to drop off the donations I have for the local thrift stores. Both of them have tiny parking lots that are always full, and there is always a line-up in the drive-thru to the donations bay at the back of both of the stores. The last two times I tried, I left after 20 minutes. The other day I managed to at least get a parking stall and tried to walk up with the goods but was thoroughly chastised for "jumping the queue," as if walking up to a table and putting a box down was some sort of offense.
So, one more try at each of the drop-offs, and then I might just take it all up to Campbell River where I know I can simply drop it all off and I'll be thanked instead of barked at. I'll combine it with dropping off all of my old electronics that are bound for recycling and all of the glass that needs recycling. Nanaimo District does not have a dedicated recycling centre. Instead it has monthly pop-ups which end up with four-hour lineups. Not doing it. Just not. If I have to spend four hours on recycling I'll combine it with a lovely drive up north and perhaps lunch with a friend.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! I also vote for the drive up north and lunch with a friend, hagatha!
I hear thunderboomies, so we might get some rain today. After making breakfast for hubby and the Germans, I had to do some plumbing repairs under the kitchen sink. I found the leak and tightened the fitting. Turned on the water and it still leaked. AHA! The pipe was not even seated in the fitting, so I tightened it on thin air! I am not strong enough to lift the pipe up, so I can get it inside the fitting and hubby just had injections in his knees yesterday, so Guenter helped me lift while I tightened. Ta Da! Fixed!
The Germans will be watching Germany in the soccer game this afternoon and I'm making home made pizza for supper.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good Sunday morning. Lazy start to the day with a perfect cup of DDWAB!
Yes, Fogfighter, there was much shouting in German in the living room yesterday! The first time Guenter shouted, Bella the Bloodhound and Mama Cat both jumped about three feet in the air!
All I have on my agenda is spraying the tomatoes for a stupid fungus and what else? Weeds!
Enjoy the last day of June! Summer is already going too fast for me.

Good Sunday morning, everyone.
If it doesn't rain I'm mowing the lawn, but it's been a pretty wet week and I'm not sure I'll be able to get to it.
I spent much of yesterday afternoon shopping for a fridge online. The cabinet space in this house was clearly built for the odd-sized fridge the previous owners brought from their previous home, a very old Kenmore that no longer had any water connectivity. I tried Trail Appliances but there was nothing immediately right. In the end, I found exactly what I was looking for at Costo.ca, so I'll have a nice new fridge mid-July. I measured not twice but about ten times to make sure I had the dimensions right!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I measured over and over for my last refrigerator too! But it wouldn't fit because the measurement at the top was not the same as the measurement at the bottom of the opening because of my crooked, sloping floors in this 100+ year old house!

Good morning everyone! Knäckebröd and instant coffee available for emergency use. I can imagine the Germans were happy about the game. And yesterday there was no doubt much joy and happiness among the English. Very exciting game, from their point of view. I'm sure the Slovaks on the other hand were disappointed. Happy new Monday GameBoomers and happy Canada Day Canadians

Good Monday morning! Soot, I always think of you and your newly minted retirement and how Mondays feel to you! Even after 15 years of retirement, I never get tired of waking up on Mondays and not going to work!
Holy smokes! After upper 90's F for a couple of weeks, it cooled off yesterday and this morning was 67 degrees! The Germans always take a 3 K walk in the morning and follow up with a dip in the pool. Petra said they didn't stay in long this morning as the water was COLD!
It'll be a good day to continue with maintenance weeding.

Good morning. It's Canada Day today, a national holiday. It's pretty quiet around here as a result. My day consists of mowing the second half of my lawn, organizing the shelves in my garage, and then spending the rest of the day gaming.
I'm still not completely settled here. I have large pictures to hang and papers to sort and store. Not having a basement is really tough.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good afternoon everyone. Another busy day but easily handled with Fogfighter's Knäckebröd and instant coffee, Gerry's Wide Awake Double Dark Brew and Connie's Danish, Donuts and Bagels. Draclvr, I am polishing my newly minted retirement and still note the passing of the week days and the weekend. I imagine one day there will be just days of the week and when someone asks me what day it is I can honestly say, I'm not sure but know it's somewhere between Sunday and Saturday. Wishing you a happy Canada Day Hagatha...chip, chip, chip away at settling in. Happy Monday everyone

Yay for DDWAB! Thansk Gerry, I'll throw in some knäckebröd for emergency use. Soot: Sounds like a good rule of thumb you got there. Happy "somewhere between Sunday and Saturday" Gameboomers
