Good afternoon everyone.

Back from Pilates and feeling it! I'm the oldest person there and sometimes I think I'll never be able to do some of the moves. Regular Pilates would be relatively easy, but we do many exercises balancing on a 30" ball. Much harder. But bit by bit I'm improving. It's the best way I can think of to ward off old-age infirmity.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Tuesday afternoon! I missed coffee this morning. We had storms move through and there was heavy rain all around us. A tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service just a few miles from us. One of the main interstates was closed because of flash flooding. We had steady rain for about 4 hours, but that was it. The weeds in one of my daylily beds got away from me because of all the rain, so I've been working out there all afternoon.

At least it wasn't 97 degrees F like it was yesterday!

Hagatha, I agree that doing something like your Pilates is going to help keep you moving. I just pull weeds!

Smells great with the goodies and brew.

Over here pleasant 21 degrees Celsius. Ms Cloud is covering the area. Allegedly Mr Rain is quite busy in other parts of the country.

Happy Birthday Hagatha and Happy Wednesday to everyone!

Good Wednesday morning! The break room smells particularly good this morning, Step-daughter called because we were on the national news yesterday with all the flash flooding to make sure we were OK. Told her it was all around us, but we just got another 2" of rain. Luckily the tornado that was near us didn't do any real damage except to some trees and a couple of crop fields.

Today marks one week left in the German's visit here. They will head back to Germany next Wednesday. We enjoy them, but it's been a loooooong 6 weeks. Yesterday hubby and Guenter went up to our 120 acre farm about 15 minutes from here and got rid of a hornet's nest! And Guenter found a snake draped across one of the pool deck chairs yesterday morning. He took a picture and I was pretty sure it was a juvenile prairie kingsnake. I got out my trusty Snakes of Missouri identifier and that's what it was. And last night while we were all having a beer out on the pool deck we watched a doe and her little fawn out in the pasture. Guenter said, there's always something interesting to see here!

Good morning everyone.

Nothing exciting happening today. I'm off to Comox to pick up a couple of prescriptions and go to Costco; we have one here, of course, but it's old and grungy and the Comox location is never as crowded, plus it's a nice drive.

Since it's apparently my birthday I might go for lunch while I'm up there.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hi, oldbroad! Yeah, I missed the diner this morning. I have a lot to do outside while the weather is so nice here for a few days. Heading out again to dig up 3 daylilies that are going to be in the way when they start tearing that hummingbird porch down in a week and a half.

Good afternoon Fogfighter, Connie, OldBroad, Draclvr and all who pop in later. Emergency rations hit the spot Fogfighter and I brought some Ginger Peach and Lapsang Souchong tea for the afternoon. Connie, I'm up for a cinnamon blueberry bagel this afternoon...have fun tonight. OldBroad, it's good to see you...I sidetracked myself this morning with an old project but now it's done. Draclvr, I have lots of outside work too. I split the week between inside and outside projects...inside this morning. Sadface: considering next steps for my desktop; the video card stopped working a couple of days and a Microsoft notice said after Oct 2025 my Windows 10 will no longer get security updates or support...so, time to consider next steps.

Have a wonderful day everyone! wave

Ginger Peach and (especially) Lapsang Souchong sound great! I haven't had any of that for a long time.

I always visit the breakroom but usually don't have anything much to say and when I do, it's usually not very uplifting so...

I haven't gotten anywhere in my research for a new computer. Really, really, don't know where the heck I'm going to put it!

Soot, how did you know I am taking a break with a glass of iced Ginger Peach tea!! Hubby requested a pork roast for supper tonight, so I thawed one in the microwave, browned it and threw it in the crock pot on a bed of onions with a can of cream of mushroom soup to deglaze the pan. Smells good already! He's making a sour cream cucumber salad.

Well, our Stage 3 water restrictions were announced yesterday, which means no more lawn watering. I'm hoping we don't get to Stage 4, which is very restrictive and requires hand watering of everything (you can use a hose but you have to water everything that way; no sprinklers, no irrigation). Last year I almost lost a few big shrubs, and I've noticed my very important privacy hedge is looking grim so I've put a soaker hose along its roots, which I'll leave on overnight at least.

I'm not supposed to fill my pond, but birds depend on it, so I'm keeping it going.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

That's sad to hear, hagatha. Normally at this time of the year in late July, we are parched and super dry. All this rain is totally unusual. I have a feeling we're going to pay for it in August though.

Good morning everyone.

I heard it was a software mistake on a Win 10 update. Anyway, I'm glad to be using Win 11.

It's a very warm morning. I'm off to Pilates, reluctantly.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
