I notice that my Alien Blaster is worth a monumental amount of money at the vendors!
Just dispensed with Shipbreaker and decided to finish the Brotherhood of Steel questline.

Eviction notice is really popular, I think. I've gone more than once in a day and virtually every player on the server seems to show up. I'm also doing the Enclave events, which can be done solo for the most part, though the odd person shows up from time to time.
I'm new to MMO games, apart from a brief foray into ESO (which I intend to get back to this year). I really enjoy to co-operative aspect of this game. I mean, people go out of their way to help sometimes. Makes it a fun experience.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I've never been in a failed Eviction notice or Fasnacht, but it's come pretty close and once I managed to repair the Rad scrubber literally a second before the event ended. Since then I tend to hang around close to it. The other event I do quite a bit is the one where you defend Fort Defiance. I drop in on all of them from time to time.
Drac, I really like the Brotherhood questline. I've only ever sided with them once, but it's worth doing. Usually I betray them a long way in, though.

Also, some players may have already got all the rewards, therefore they don't care if the event fails or not (or has the best results or not); they are just there to get XP by killing the numerous enemies there. Therefore, if you play Eviction Notice for the rewards (which include one of 6 unique weapons), then you should be the one to watch for the rad scrubber. Don't assume others will do it for you. Other events work the same way too. There are often only a finite amount of rewards. Players who've got them all are likely just there for the XP. The XP is why those events are so popular. Another crucial element: some events are designed to *never* let you get all the rewards, ever. And Fasnacht is one of them. It would take over 1500 tries to get all the masks based on the known probabilities. Not to mention, new masks are added every year, lowering the overall chance even more. But the event only occurs once per hour for 14 days. So even if you play it around the clock for 14 days, you'll only be able to play it 24 x 14 = 336 times, which is way short of what is needed. Therefore, all the players in Fasnacht are likely for the masks only. And that's why this event is still so popular after 5 years: a majority of players still haven't got all the masks.

After the inevitable event, I don't think I can make myself go back there again. Need to go wander around the Glowing Sea or some place more pleasant for awhile.

I play the events for the Treasury notes and Cores and sometimes I get them even in really tame, run of the mill events. Usually the weapon or armour rewards are just module fodder since I now have almost all of the mods for Gauss rifles. I did find a really good Fixer at a player vendor for a reasonable price so I'm using that for now. I think scrapping combat rifles gives mods for the Fixer, too. It seems to me that I have many of the possible mods.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm still trying to get the crafting plan for The Fixer. Minerva had it once but I didn't have enough to buy it. She hasn't had it since.
Draclvr, which event?

I'm still trying to get the crafting plan for The Fixer. Minerva had it once but I didn't have enough to buy it. She hasn't had it since. Minerva doesn't sell the Fixer plan. You have to either buy it from other players or hope to get it from Encryptid. Right after Encryptid, stay on the server, go to other players' camps and see if they sell it. There is a 10% chance the plan is given by the event. If 10+ players played the event, you would expect at least one player got it. And if that player had already learned it, you would expect him to sell it right away, because everyone knows it's a popular item. It wouldn't take long to visit 10 players' camps. The best chance to get the Fixer plan is to hope to get it from the players who just finished Encryptid, hopefully put it up for sale, and crucially before it is bought by others. Again, the best chance to get it before it is bought by others is right after Encryptid. I put it up for sale once and it was gone within minutes.

Yes, Paladin Danse's story is pretty sad. He deserved better. It makes the Railroad make more sense to me as my faction.
Thanks for the info about the Fixer. I could swear Minerva had it once. It must have been something else. I have been trying to figure out what non-power-armour jet pack I see people using. Now that I have some stable fluxes I might be able to craft that. I've got the fully upgraded Secret Service under-armour and it's pretty decent.
Also, I got a Glowing Scorchbeast Queen mask on my second Fasnacht Parade. I didn't know they were rare drops. Such silly fun.

I've got the fully upgraded Secret Service under-armour and it's pretty decent. 3 types of non-power armor can use a jet pack: secret service armor, brotherhood recon armor, and civil engineer armor. Minerva sells the plans for secret service and brotherhood recon, including the jet pack plans, but you have to catch her at the right times. The plans for civil engineer armor pieces (not mods) are given for free in the Vault 63 main quest. But the plans for the mods (including the jet pack) are bought with stamps from the stamp vendor Giuseppe at Whitespring Refuge. Stamps are something you earn only by completing "expeditions."

Hence the reason I went back to the Prydwen to finish the quest and then went straight to the Railroad hideout.

Okay, I now make it my mission to get that jet-pack.
Railroad quest ultimately dove-tails with the Island, depending on how you play.

Another way to gain jump height is from the Marsupial mutation, which is another popular choice among players. When you take a lot of rads (from toxic water, radiation barrels, etc.), you have a chance to gain one mutation. There are only 18 mutations, so you have a good chance to get Marsupial. I believe after you gain one mutation, you have to reload the game to another server before you can get another one. Radaway can remove mutations. To prevent that, you need the Starched Genes perk card, which requires level 30. Mutations are also part of the main quest's storyline, so you may want to finish that first to avoid spoilers.

I bought six mutations from the Enclave, used up all my caps but it was definitely worth it. The only real issue is when taking radiation because Rad Ex also disables mutations. For that reason I still wear my Chinese Stealth armour a lot of the time, unless I'm going into a tough event. The Stealth armour also negates the need for a Hazmat suit, which is nice. I can be rad-free AND stylish at the same time.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Every player pretty much has Starched Genes at all times if they want to keep desirable mutations like Marsupial, Speed Demon, Herbivore, etc. Some players actually suggest you get ALL mutations because they are all beneficial, but that's a bit of a controversial statement.

I chose 7 mutations, one of them affecting me before I bought the other ones. They serve me well. Rather than swap out my Luck Perks, running the risk of forgetting to replace Starched Genes, I chose to get the Luck Legendary Perk and added a level so I have room for the Luck Perks I need.
Okay, I am now officially tired of Fasnacht, especially since all the other events are getting ignored. Some of them give decent rewards, too.

Looks like you are pretty far into the game. What level are you at? Have you done all the main quests, and some of the key side quests, such as the ones that give you a backpack, a hand-held camera, a shelter (like a camp, but underground), and two romance-able human allies (Beckett and Daguerre)? (There are only 3 romance-able NPCs in Fallout 76.) Fasnacht is popular only because of the masks. They are not really my kind of thing, but apparently they are for many players. This type of content is often created by marketing experts who know exactly what people want. Who knew people want masks so badly? I wouldn't know in a million years. I would rather want things that are actually useful in gameplay, such as the company tea machine and the water boiler currently sold by gold bullion vendors. Currently the atom shop also sells the "utility power generator" that can wirelessly power up a 6-tile radius, almost the size of the entire camp.

I just hit level 144 and have about 12 unselected Perk points because I can't see anything I need more than the perks I already have. I might start scrapping them for perk coins.
I'm just cruising around looking for events that give cores and Treasury notes and increasing my reputation with the factions. I might go back to Atlantic City for a couple of quests, just for a change of scenery. I did the initial quests down there at quite a low level and found them challenging but with my better gear it might be more fun.
The Fasnacht masks are fun and cute but I got one each time and I'm over it. If they're saleable I might put them in my shop, except for the Glowing Scorchbeast Queen mask, of course, which was the best one I got by far.
I agree that plans for gear and useful items for the camp are the best rewards apart from cores and treasury notes. I don't need any more items that I just sell or scrap.
I've had the same camp all along because it's cozy and well-equipped but also because I don't know how to move it. I might just place camp #2 and build it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Yes, I think I'll just leave my camp as is. I'd love to build another one, but I assume my original camp will not be there if I decide to reinstate it? I see people moving their camps all the time, but I'm sort of central and tucked away and it's a good launching spot.
SO here's a dumb noobie question, since I haven't played MMO's much -- when I get a Fried request and accept it, what does that actually mean?

You can build two camps, but can only activate one at a time. The deactivated camp is greyed out on the map. Activating it will deactivate the other one with no structure lost. You can buy up to 3 more camp slots in the atom store, giving you a total of up to 5.
Friending someone means allowing someone to go directly to the server you are on (and you to theirs) so you can see each other on the same map and meet. Otherwise, there is no way to meet each other since everybody loads into random servers when they start the game. Friending is different from teaming up, which actually grants gameplay benefits (XP buff, perk card sharing, etc.). Friends aren't necessarily your teammates, but they can be if you team up. The social menu on the top right corner of the map shows who your friends and teammates are.

Thanks. So basically if you're on the same server you can meet up. That's cool.
I'm dying to build a new camp with all the new plans I have. So if I build the new one, the old one can be re-activated later if I feel like switching back? Assuming nobody else has built there, I'm guessing.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
