Good Monday morning! Another dreadful hot day ahead - forecast is for 95 degrees F with another day just like it tomorrow. Then it's supposed to cool down to the 80's. I'd better finish up my work in the tomatoes and green beans this morning before it gets too ghastly.
Lex, I would have loved seeing that from behind a glass window! Bees are very social and even do a bee dance to show the hive where a new source of food is.
I'm so glad to be able to listen to my hummingbirds chittering again. Got the feeders moved back to the new hummingbird porch yesterday.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning Draclvr, Connie, Lex, Gerry, OldBroad, Fogfighter, Hagatha, Marian, Leeana and all who stop or peek in later. The coffee and bagels are marvelous. Glad to hear you're OK Connie...keeping you and others affected by Debby in my prayers. That's neat to hear your hummingbirds chittering again Drac. I will get a buzzing fly by once and awhile when I'm swapping feeders to clean them but don't have the bouquet that you or my brother have. Wow Lex that's such a great bee story about your house in France. Off on a grocery run and then we'll see where the day takes me. Take care everyone and Stay Out Of Trees...

Good morning OldBroad, Fogfighter, Gerry, Connie and all who follow Fogfighter, the knäckebröd was marvelous and glad to hear Ms Wasp is outdoors and peaceful. Hey Gerry, I'm guessing Debby will eventually pull chocks and move North to give you a break with the rain. Enjoy Music Bingo tonight Connie...in the meantime I'll enjoy some flat multigrain bagels with coffee this morning. Grocery shopping is on my short list this morning. Have a great Wednesday everyone. 🐪 Day!

Good morning all.
It's sort of a "nothing" day here for me. I suppose I should call my pond people and have them assess what needs to be done to repair the leak, since the water level drops about 6 inches a day and the pond would be completely empty in 48 hours if I didn't fill it every evening.
The bad news is that I have established the problem is somewhere in the water line and not in the pond itself, because it only leaks when the pump is turned on. That means pulling up all the rocks on one side of the pond and possibly having to dig up a couple of mature shrubs and possibly a beautiful acer. I was going to wait until summer is over but I really shouldn't be filling it at all because of our water restrictions.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Connie, soot, hagatha and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark very is really good this morning! Hagatha so sorry you are having trouble with the water pipe to the pond. Seems like nothing is ever easy to fix when it comes to plumbing issues! Good luck getting to the bottom of the problem. Hope you all have a great day! Gerry

Good morning all, overcast here but at least not raining, so outside tasks beckon, including the hire of an 8 metre high scaffolding tower to reach and clear an unwelcome accumulation of vegetation from the roof: I had hoped to employ someone else to do it, but he has contracted hepatitis a and is unlikely to be available for some months - oh, and by the way I am not fond of heights. Hagatha, might not a less destructive option be to reroute part or all of the pipe, leaving the old one in situ, unless of course that would be substantially more expensive? In any event, I sympathise, having had a number of water related problems to fix over the years, and having not always found the experts as good as I had hoped...!

Good morning everyone. Always great to start the day with WADDB & DDB Over here pleasant 24 Celsius and overcast. Mr Rain is supposed to make a brief visit later tonight. Luckily no wall climbing or wasp hunting for me. Today I'm dabbling with the ReactOS as a virtual machine. It's supposed to be some kind of open source OS compatible with Win XP. The ReactOS team has made a somewhat functioning product but there's still a lot to be desired. I managed to run Starcraft 1 but have to make do with only 16 colors and no sound. Still nice to able to run some XP era programs. Have any of you tried the ReactOS? Happy Thursday Gameboomers

Good morning everyone. I agree Fogfighter, starting the day with Gerry's Wide Awake Double Dark coffee and a bagel or two from Connie is the best way. I have not dabbled with emulation software for some time...found it easier to find and play old games online. Hagatha, I like Lex's idea of a 'new' water line and leaving the old one lie if that's feasable, less expensive and can route around your shrubs. Lex, I hope you can find someone to clear your roof...or help you. Have a great day everyone.

Good Thursday morning! The cooler weather has kept me busy working outside the last couple of days. I'm going to have a cup or two of Gerry's DDWAB and listen to the hummingbirds for a little while first this morning. Then it's another day of planting some new shrubs and of course, weeds!
A guy and his wife just picked up my very old wood glider. I posted it on the local Facebook Marketplace yesterday as "free to a good home - needs some love!" I believe it was at least 30 years old and I remember it being the first thing we purchased after we built the hummingbird porch. My 2nd husband and I used to practically live out there in the summer. I ordered a couple of nice dark wicker type chairs with thick cushions and a side table that are out for delivery today.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone.
Today I have a vet technician coming over to trim Willow's nails. I'm hoping that it's a success because I had to stop taking her to the vet for grooming; she panicked so badly and fought me so hard about going in the cage i just couldn't stand it any more. I think she must have thought we were moving again. Anyway this vet tech has a travelling service and she's quite reasonable if you use her regularly, cheaper than going to the vet, so I hope it all goes well.
Lex, that suggestion might just work. We'll see what the pond people say -- it's their speciality, and I have an annual contract with them, so hopefully they can come up with a decent solution that isn't exorbitantly expensive. The water feature is the focal point of my garden so it really needs to be working.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. Emergency rations of Instant coffee and knäckebröd are available in the breakroom. Yet a sunny and pleasant day over here. 24 Celsius. Mr Rain decided to visit last night but now he's absent again. Mrs Sun is in good mood today. I'm pretty happy too. I managed to get sound in the ReactOS virtual machine. Can now play Starcraft 1 with sound. Still only 16 colors but actually playable. Will try other stuff later.. Happy Friday Gameboomers

Good Morning everyone! Fogfighter thanks for filling in this morning. I have the Wide Awake Double Dark Brew ready now. Hagatha I hope you get the waterline fixed soon. Draclvr sounds like your new deck furniture will be a nice addition and a great place to sit and enjoy the hummers! Lex be careful on the roof...assembling scaffolding itself will be a challenge! Hope you all have a nice Friday and start to your weekend! Gerry

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Hagatha, Draclvr and all who follow. Taking a break between projects to enjoy Fogfighter's knäckebröd, Gerry's DDWAB and a bagel from Connie. Continuing efforts with a White Fly infestation in my potted Gardenia bushes out front and noticed this morning 500+ of them resting on the kitchen window at the back of the house…not sure what's up with that other than the kitchen light attracting them?? Draclvr, your wicker chairs sound wonderful. Hagatha, hope your vet tech visit is a smooth operation and look forward to an update on your pond. Fogfighter, congratulations on getting your sound to work. So I'm off to do a little puzzle gardening and then back to daily projects and chores. Might even have a grocery run on my docket… T.G.I.F. good day to everybody!

Good morning everyone.
Yesterday's nail-trimming went quite well, though it involved many Temptations. It's a good thing Willow is friendly and easily bribed.
I'll be emptying the last 6 inches of pond water by hand today, as it's already becoming bug city. Ugh.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
