Good Saturday morning one and all. Ah yes Hagatha, we've had little ones requiring 'many-many' treats to get them through the nail-trimming process. Enjoy your long walk Gerry. I am currently enjoying the wide awake double dark brew and bagels for the moment before I get back to the day's projects and chores. It looks like I'm turning the corner with our White Flies infestation...this is good.

Wishing You All a Wonderful Day! ☀️

Good Saturday morning and welcome to the weekend! Another glorious day of fabulous weather ahead.

I'm taking advantage of it because we're supposed to head back in to the mid-90s next week. Got my new chairs and a small table for the hummingbird porch Thursday. I put the chairs together and put everything on the porch yesterday. Last night I got a glass of wine about 10:00 and sat out there with two of my cats for nearly an hour. It was so beautiful and quiet. Today, it's noisy with hundreds of chittering and arguing hummers!

More weeding today and need to get set up for canning tomatoes tomorrow. Finally have enough!

hagatha, emptying that pond by hand does not sound like fun. But if the water is no longer circulating, you will definitely get mosquitoes and other critters.

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

It's pretty hot here, too. My house stays cool for a long time, but I'm finding that in the late evening I need to turn the air conditioning on for a couple of hours.

In the end I couldn't get all of the water out of the pond, so I have to keep refilling it until the pond maintenance guy is here to have a look at it. He can empty it for me. I hate losing the water, but on the other hand it is leaking into my garden somewhere so the plants around the pond are getting it instead.

I'm back to hand-watering a lot of my garden though I have set up soaker hoses, which are allowed. Still, my Rhodos are all suffering from lack of water, as are a couple of my trees. Also, because of the drought conditions many of my plants have developed pests and disease, so I've spent fair amount of time dealing with that, too. At least the gardeners are here once a month to keep the place tidy.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Hagatha, Draclvr and all who follow. Draclvr, glad you got your porch setup and are enjoying the evening quiet with your little ones. Hagatha, soaker hoses used in the early mornings are your best option. Fogfighter, good to hear no drama over your way. Yes Connie, indoor operations are the way to go for you...I do my outdoor projects/chores in the mornings.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday.

Good morning everyone.

We're in a deep haze here from a wildfire south of Nanaimo. Apparently it's out of control, or was yesterday. I haven't checked on it this morning. The upside is that the temperature has dropped considerably.

Fogfighter, I can glimpse winter on the horizon now, too. The nights are drawing in. Instead of the sun setting at 10 pm. it's now full darkness by 9:00. It's a reminder to enjoy those summer days while we can.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone.

The haze over us now is like the sky before a rain storm, only there's no rain coming. I think the forest fire is now under control, but it is really affecting our air quality and my asthma is flaring up.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday morning! How the heck did it get to be the middle of August already!

hagatha, I can't remember if it was last year, but out air quality here in the middle of the US was quite bad some days caused by wildfires in Canada. It did make for some stunning sunsets though.

Had a little shower this morning that was badly needed. I'm almost done with this last bout of weeding after all the rain we had in July, but had to quit after yesterday as my back was starting to get twingey. I'm overdue for a nerve block, but putting it off as long as I can. I have enough tomatoes to start canning today. I'm all set up and ready to get started shortly. Just plain tomato sauce today, but will do some chili sauce, pasta sauce, pizza sauce and maybe some salsa. Going to make some vegetable soup later too.

Over here pleasant 22 degrees Celsius and mr Sky is almost clear. Only a few thin high altitude clouds. I think no forest fires now. I guess I have to blame the chemtrails. wink

Happy Tuesday GameBoomers!

Good Tuesday morning! Connie, that sounds wonderful!

I'm heading back out to the garage to finish cleaning up after getting 17 quarts of tomato juice yesterday. It's a start!

Good morning. It's off to Pilates and then into town for cat food and human supplies. It's deeply hazy today. No rain, but at least it's cooled right down and the garden isn't getting scorched.

Good morning all: weather permitting (by which I mean not only dry but not too hot)another day up on the roof for me shifting some too well rooted vegetation and then putting in some weedkiller followed by some sand and cement mortar mix which will hopefully eradicate the problem for a decade or two. The scaffolding tower (with a climbing rope and safety harness) is a wonderful piece of kit for most of the job, but at one point I also have to use a roof ladder hooked over the apex of the roof to reach one of the chimneys... scared

Quite invigorating and plenty of coffee needed to sharpen the senses beforehand, also I am quite amused at how shocked/horrified some of my relatives are that I am still doing such crazy things at my age!
