Good morning everyone! Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the Break room. The 10 km running competition was yet a successful event. Happy spectators, music playing and +30 thousand runners. No calamities reported. Today a bit chillier. Currently 16 Celsius but Mrs Sun is doing her thing and temperatures will rise later today. Happy sunny Sunday GameBoomers

Good Sunday morning! Well done on the Trivia last night, Connie! You must have a good team!!
I looked up that race, Fogfighter - it was really something! I didn't realize it was run at night - Midnattsloppet!
We went in town yesterday afternoon to attend a soft opening of a Food Truck that a young couple we know are starting up. It's called the Ramblin' Rooster and it's all chicken in a gazillion ways! They just parked it in their side yard and set up tables and chairs and invited only friends and family. The food was amazing, so I think they will do great.
Slightly cooler weather for several days here - the mid-80's F instead of the mid-90's!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone.
Draclvr, that food truck sounds wonderful. In Vancouver there are numerous food trucks and I often chose one from nearby for lunch when I worked downtown. I missed it in Campbell River, where food trucks were mostly not permitted.
The local farm market has a rotating roster of local food and coffee trucks, all great. I particularly like the fresh ice cream truck; they make their own vanilla base ice cream and spin in whichever fruit you want. I don't eat much ice cream, but I will occasionally make an exception for this one. It's delicious. On a hot day the parking lot is jammed with people lining up for it.
We had a major rain storm last night, which is great for the garden, but a thunderstorm is expected later today. I'm hoping it doesn't interfere with my plans to meet up with a friend at the pub downtown.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. The WADDB mitigates the pain of waking up to a Monday. I throw in some knäckebröd to chew on while waiting for the DDB. Draclvr: as we don't have midnight sun in Stockholm we have to make do with a midnight race. A pretty neat tradidion. Then of course there's also the yearly Stockholm Marathon for the really ambitious athlethes. I think in the beginning of the summer. Today's temperature in the low 20ies and Mrs Sun is shining. Happy Monday GameBoomers

Good Monday morning! Another gorgeous warm - not hot! - day ahead. Since I'm caught up on tomato canning, guess I'll have to go back to weeding.
Today is my Colorado granddaughter's 18th birthday. That means all my grandkids are adults now! The two youngest are off on their freshman year college adventures. Gee, I feel old!!

Good morning everyone.
It's still raining here. This is wonderful for the garden, and it's quite a change from last year, when it rained only once during August and September. In my first two months here I spent at least an hour or two watering. This year I don't need to. Even the grass is still green
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Fogfighter, Connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew awaits all you early risers! We had very stormy weather yesterday...it was unpredicted...flooding thru out the state...bridges and big chunks of roads washed away! They called it the 1,000 year flood. Our little town made it thru with no major issues...we were lucky. Hope you all have a good day. Gerry

Good morning and thanks for the wake up brew. Over here yet a calm pleasant day. +20 degrees. Some clouds. No flooding. But the summer is ending and "winter is coming" as the saying goes in Game of Thrones. Sooner or later it will happen. Happy Tuesday GameBoomers

Good morning everyone.
I just got back from Pilates and am getting ready for lunch at the pub with a friend.
We're having cool and rainy weather again today. People are complaining about it, but frankly I appreciate how the rain is keeping everything green, and our fire risk has dropped to almost zero. This is actually normal weather for BC at this time of year. It always used to rain during the PNE (the annual big fair in Vancouver).
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone! A few emergency kits available for any early birds in the break room. Just add water. Yet a 20 degrees day and mrs Sun is shining. However mr Rain is supposed to arrive in the afternoon. He is welcome of course. I'll bring an umbrella to the café, just in case. Happy Wednesday GameBoomers

Good Morning Fogfighter, Connie, hagatha, Draclvr, and everyone. Thanks for the emergency kits Fogfighter. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is now ready. I sure need it this morning...it is a chilly 49 degrees! What a difference a day makes! The flooding was really bad in the western part of the state. Two elderly women lost their lives...swept down stream in raging flood waters. One little stream that was about 2 to 3 feet across turned into a 40 foot wide raging river in a matter of hours...homes, businesses, roads and bridges washed away or had 3 feet of water in them...over 12 inches of rain fell in some areas in less then 10 hours. I am lucky to live where I do...less likely to experience that kind of damage. Enjoy your Hump Day. Gerry

Good Wednesday morning! Another coolish day which is great for working outside. Definitely needing the DDWAB this morning!
Gerry, I've been reading about the terrible flooding and loss of life in your area. So glad you were spared.
hagatha, everything is so green here too - unheard of in August in this part of the US.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning, everyone. Gerry, that flooding is so awful, so tragic. I'm glad to hear you're in a safer spot and are okay. We're having another rainy day. I'm enjoying it; I always feel like a rainy day is an excuse to relax, read a book, watch TV. The irrigation guy is here to upgrade my system so that my cedar hedges don't fry in the middle of summer; a few of them are looking pretty brown inside. The garden is my refuge and it's really a huge part of the charm of this place, so I want it to be as cared-for as it can be, without me having to do the work. The shrubs are getting a bit wild, though. I might do a bit of light pruning to shape them. I don't mind doing that.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Fogfighter, Connie, Draclvr, hagatha, and soot. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is really tasty this morning...nice and hot on this chilly morning! Hagatha our yard was my Bill's refuge as well. He loved tending the flowers and pruning the shrubs, keeping the 2 bird baths filled with clean fresh water and watching all the critters that visited on a daily basis. He did a beautiful job of landscaping. Enjoy your day! Gerry
