New day, new coffee and treats. Thanks for providing. I too had to google the Chicagohenge. Interesting phenomenon. I don't think I would wait the whole 12 hours from sunrise to sunset though. Over here chillier again. About 16 Celsius. Still ok. Happy Saturday GameBoomers!

oldbroad, I work today and won't be heading downtown for Chicagohenge. I have not been downtown in years, my beloved hometown environment has me to frightened to walk or drive through at this point. It's sad.
Have a happy day everyone! I have a busy day of dog care scheduled and it's going to be a very hot one!

Good Saturday morning! Hubby's big breakfast aside, it's time for a cup or two of WADDB for myself next to my oh-so-quite window to the hummingbird porch! There are a couple of travelers out there, but they are much too busy fueling up for the next leg of their journey to be chittering and arguing.
We have a decent chance of rain later today which would be so very welcome. I REALLY don't want to start dragging hoses around again.
My project for today is to remove the old kitchen trash mechanism inside one of the cabinets and replace it with a different one. It was always a dreadful design which was impossible to keep clean and it's been 30 years, so I decided to get rid of it. NOT looking forward to it as it requires me getting down on the floor to work! Going to use my little garden kneeler bench as much as possible. Getting down is no problem - it's the getting back up part that's the problem!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone.
Not much going on around here. It was raining when I woke up, so it'll be a nice quiet day pottering around the house.
My pond is once again draining water quickly, so if the rain stops I'll see if I can look for the pipe that keeps moving out of true. I was planning on having the pond part of the water feature turned into a stream anyway, because I do get the odd mosquito, so it may be time to have the thole thing revamped. The pond adds nothing, since I have no fish, and the birds only use the shallow stream part of the feature.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning soot, Fogfighter, Ana, Draclvr, hagatha, oldbroad and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready along with fresh bagels and a variety of warm danish! I had never heard of Chicagohenge before...very interesting phenomenon. I can understand your reluctance to go downtown Ana...can be scary in todays world. Draclvr did you get the trash mechanism changed yesterday? Hagatha sounds like a good plan to turn the pond into a "stream". I do like to get all my chores and errands done as early as possible oldbroad...gives me the rest of the day free to do whatever I want. I am up before dawn every day so it is a long day! Hope you all have a peaceful happy Sunday! Gerry

Good morning Gerry, Ana, Draclvr, hagatha, oldbroad and everyone! Starting the day with the WADDB and treats. Autumn has fallen upon us. 15 Celsius and cloudy. Most leaves are still green though. And there's still some weekend. Happy Sunday GameBoomers!

Ah...the best day starter I know...wide awake double dark brew...thanks Gerry Fogfighter, hopefully autumn arrives tomorrow with cooler temps as today we're expecting 92 F (33 C) this afternoon. Lex, those were heart-warming tales indeed...thanks for sharing them. Welcome back Connie, it sounds like a wonderful trip and ideal view...I had the same kind of view every morning on one of my trips to Florida...I still remember them. EDIT: I was in a condo with a porch oceanside for sunrises and a porch on the west side for sunsets. Every day I had a front-row seat to nature’s most breathtaking shows. Headed to a baseball game later this afternoon. Have a great autumn equinox Sunday everyone

Happy Autumn Equinox! We finally got about 1.2 inches of rain last night. It's not nearly enough, but should be enough to let me do some weeding today. I might try digging up my large bed of tall purple phlox. I hate to get rid of it, but it has some kind of phlox fungus and no matter how many times I spray, doesn't help. It was so pretty and smelled so good and was usually covered in butterflies. I'm thinking I'll replace it with Russian Sage and Blazing Star.
I rather prefer the idea of a small stream too, hagatha. Maybe it's time to make the change.
Lex, those were such a good way to start off my day!
Welcome back, Connie! Fogfighter, sounds like fall has arrived for you.

Good morning everyone.
Connie, the trip sounds wonderful. I do miss my ocean view.
Fogfighter, we are definitely into Fall as well. It's quite cool in the morning and yesterday I had to wear a sweater for my walk. It's also dark until about 7:30 am and the nights are drawing in now. Good sleeping weather!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Oldbroad, I would have had to stop gardening years ago without my garden kneeler. I can sit on it or turn it over and kneel on it. The legs become handles to help you up and down. I use mine both outside and inside the house like yesterday! Hubby has two of them. Garden Kneeler

BeaSong, at the point where I have to give up the 96 tomato plants level of gardening, raised beds is the way to go!

Good Monday morning! Cloudy and cool this morning and I think we may have gotten a little more rain last night.
Got another six bottles of hot sauce bottled up yesterday. Will but the sealing sleeves and labels on today - this batch is from peppers I smoked for a couple of hours last week. I really need to get out in the tomato forest and pick again today, but also need to make a grocery store run in town.

BeaSong, I'm going to hate the day when I can no longer put up my own veggies! I have about 50 quarts of tomato sauce and many jars of pasta sauce, pizza sauce and chili sauce waiting to be opened this winter! Hubby and I also put up 32 pints of sweet corn cut off the cob, so no one with starve when the snow flies! I will be sharing a lot of this with family too.
Have fun with your goat hooves today!

Good morning everyone. Enjoyed a wonderful walk this morning and hope to get more rain later this week. Now home from the vet for a routine visit and now enjoying DDWAB and bagels. That kneeler doofer looks great Draclr and your tomato forest sounds awesome. Wow BeaSong, trimming goat nails sounds interesting and I imagine quite the workout...do they cooperate? I think the Keys would be a really fun place to visit Connie. Happy Monday everyone
