Good Morning connie, Fogfighter, soot, Draclvr, hagatha, Marian, Mad, oldbroad and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready to start your Monday morning. The replacement of the faucet and shower fixture in the tub went well...happy to say no more leak! Over the past month I had to replaced the water pressure gauge and "clogged" pipe to it. Once the water pressure was restored I had a few leaks that needed to be fixed...hopefully I am done for a while with plumbing issues! Enjoy your day everyone! Gerry

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Mad, OldBroad, Draclvr, Hagatha, Marian, Fogfigher, Ana, SQF, Orion and all who follow. Can't wait to see the comet tonight Gerry...great news as leak-less is most excellent. What a great memory for you and daughter Mad...and totally understand your initial apprehension. Wow, Draclvr you must be fit as a fiddle and a little tired after the Wagon Day event. Enjoying a cup of WADDB, bagel and knäckebröd. Have a wonderful Monday everyone

A late good Monday morning. Gerry, plumbers can be expensive, but water damage to your home is much MORE expensive!
Total weather change and it was chilly enough for a sweatshirt this morning!
Heading out shortly for my annual mammogram and a trip to the nursery to look for a shrub and some mulch. I love/hate going there! I want to buy everything!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

There is another cosmic sight this month. Last night was the first view of a comet that last was visible 80,000years ago and will not be visible for another 80,000 years! It will be visible most of October. Check out this utube video as to where in the sky you can see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFudc0b7MUsHope you all enjoy a peaceful Sunday! Gerry This is a rare event. Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) will be visible with the naked eye. Get to a location where the horizon to the west is visible. Bring binoculars for a better view. The best visibility will be between now and the 20th. As the comet climbs higher into the sky through October its brightness will dim. On the 15th, through binoculars, not only will the comet be visible but you should be able to see M5, a globular cluster. Both will be in the binocular field of view at the same time. All begins shortly after sunset Thank you Kaki's Sister for announcing this. I'm going tonight to check an area out and will take my telescope there tomorrow. Hopefully Florida clouds don't get in my way EDIT: I changed the comet pic. This was the view I saw 20 minutes after sunset Monday through binoculars. The view does change according to area. Light pollution will affect its view
It's never too late!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the WADDB and the special decaf. I think I start with the standard brew and save the decaf until the evening. Emergency use knäckebröd is available in the break room. Over here Mrs Sun is shining and Mr Frost made a visit. He's still hiding in the shades. Winter is no doubt coming. Happy Tuesday Gameboomers

Good morning everyone ... I saw the once in 80,000 years comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) last night. I drove to a spot with a good view to the West, South-west sky at sunset and started scanning the sky. After 40 to 50 minutes of scanning I finally located the little guy. Once I found the comet I knew where to look and it was easy to spot again. Fogfighter, I brought some herbal teas for you to enjoy (Chamomile, Peppermint, Ginger and Tumeric). Gerry, the WWDDB is great with the knäckebröd! Have a great day everyone

Good Tuesday morning! Busy day ahead, so am really enjoying my WADDB and a little quiet time.
I roasted two whole chickens with carrots, onion and celery in the cavities a couple of days ago. Today I'm going to take all the meat off the bones and freeze it in 3 cup portions. Then I will put the carcasses and skin into a pot with more carrots, onion and celery and water and simmer for several hours for broth. I can see a chicken noodle soup on one of these cold days coming up!
I also have a boatload of tomatoes to work up. I really don't need any more stuff, but I can't just let them rot! Think I'll do a batch of salsa and a batch of crushed tomatoes to add to the stash in the basement.
I really need to go out and pick as much produce as I can as it's supposed to drop below freezing tonight. Mostly I have a lot of peppers out there I need to get in.
I feel a little overrun today - sort of like Ana!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone,
That coffee is going down a treat this morning. I'll throw in a bagel with peanut butter and I'm all set.
I'm off to Pilates this morning and then into town to return the case of cat food I mistakenly bought last week. It was a different flavour of the one Dude eats, and it was rated two emphatic paws down. I will not make that mistake again. Apparently it's a capital offense.

Good morning everyone! Emergency rations with instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room. Dan, your herb teas was a perfect way to end last night. Slept like a happy cat tonight. Over here winter is coming. Mr Frost and Mrs Sun are visiting again. Ms Snowflake hasn't shown up yet. Yay for that. Happy Wednesday Gameboomers

I am also returning some cat food bought recently, but this is because sadly the last of our cats died (peacefully) a few days ago: she had been with us for 20 years, since 3 months old, and the house seems empty and unnaturally quiet without her (although she had lost her voice about 18 months earlier following a stroke). We had been very reluctant to leave her for the last couple of years, so this may be an opportunity to do some of the travelling we had planned following my retirement just before covid, and we are still undecided about taking on another cat (probably fairly mature because of our own ages). That makes five buried in our garden here, mainly related to each other, with a nice rose bush and some spring bulbs to mark the graves, visible from our kitchen window. Anyway, life goes on and we have a fair amount to keep us busy and distracted, but we do miss her terribly, and I know that many of you can identify with that!
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Good Wednesday morning!
Lex, so sorry to hear about your kitty. She sure lived a good long life with you. Sounds like a lovely garden for them.
It frosted a bit here, but I don't think there was a hard freeze. I will go out later to check in the garden. I picked as many peppers as I could yesterday. Got another 5 quarts of tomato sauce canned and have another half a bucket to work up today. I think I will make a batch of salsa with that. I simmered my chicken carcasses with the veggies and got a big pot of really nice broth. But I was just too pooped at the end of the day to strain and freeze it. So, into the fridge it went for today.
I am just going to sit here and drink my cup of German coffee. Sorry, Fogfighter, I've just never found an instant coffee that I liked!
Finally got a picture of the comet last night!
