Harry is definitely a great character, Soot, and his adventures are always compelling.

I'm now immersed in book #9 of the Glass and Steele series, The Imposter's Inheritence. The stories flow quickly, and the mysteries are quite good. I've become invested in seeing what happens next with India's magic and all the people she cares about.

I also gobbled up Skyshade, which is the 3rd book in the Lightlark series by Alex Asher. The main character, Isla, has gained in strength and control, but the oracle's prophecy haunts her as she tries to find a way to overcome her fate while fighting seemingly unstoppable evil forces. I'm looking forward to the 4th book.

Hagatha,
The Farseer trilogy will be delivered tomorrow. I remember you mentioning them before, so I thought I'd give them a try while Barnes & Noble was having a sale.

Sorry, Santa! There were too many options.

Lex, I already have a hard cover copy of Inheritor.

Lady Kestrel, and Lex, the Farseer trilogy is one of the most intelligent fantasy series I've ever read. There are actually 12 books in the series, which obviously have to be read in order; four trilogies in all. I hope you enjoy them.

Soot, I read several of the Dresden novels. They're a lot of fun. I didn't finish the series. I might pick them up again.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I can't remember if someone here recommended Alias Emma by Ava Glass, but I'm glad I discovered this author. Emma Makepeace, a relatively new British secret agent with a special group, receives her first big assignment. She must transport an important asset - the son of Russian dissidents - across London without being spotted or killed. Unfortunately, the ubiquitous CCTV cameras have been hacked, and they only have 12 hours of darkness to make it to safety on foot. It's a suspenseful page turner, and I'm looking forward to the next one with Agent Makepeace called The Traitor.

Right now I'm reading The Kidnapper's Accomplice, book 10 of C. J. Archer's Glass and Steele series. Because there are still conflicts between those who have magic skills and those who don't, especially when it comes to goods being sold, India has vowed not to use her strong magic to extend the magic of other magicians. One magician, whose skill is with fireworks and other explosives, is threatening to detonate a bomb if India doesn't agree to help her accomplice extend his leather magic. India and Matt are trying to track them down before people are injured or killed.

Sorry, Santa! There were too many options.

Yesterday Amazon downloaded the 10th. & final book in the series of Robert McCammon's Matthew Corbett book called Leviathan that I pre-ordered. If you pre-ordered it you paid $9.99 otherwise you pay $21.99 for it. I'm half way through Silent Woman by Minka Kent that I want to finish, then I will get right into Leviathan, been waiting a long time for the final in this series.

Judith, I wasn't aware Robert McCammon was writing a series. I've loved many of his books over the years. I'll have to check it out.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

After years of reading books on my iPhone, I finally bought a kindle paperwhite, it came at 8pm last night. Fairly easy to setup. I’m ready to go…….

Winfrey, I have a Kindle Paperwhite and I love it. The battery on my new one lasts for well over a week between charging.

I had a look at the McCammon books and it turns out I have read the first few, years ago. They're even on my Kindle. I'll have to check out the rest of the series.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I finished the 13th and final book in Archer's Glass and Steele series. The ending is very satisfying, and the author continues with the Glass Library series, which concerns the son. I read the latter series first and am hoping for a new one soon.

I'm currently ensconced in Death Comes to Marlow, Thorogood's second Marlow mystery club book. It's a locked room mystery and great fun so far.

Thanks for reminding me about Ruth Rendall, Marian. I really like her mysteries, and I have 2 on my shelf I haven't read yet.

Ruth Rendell wrote some really twisted psychological thrillers which I thoroughly enjoyed some years ago, quite a counterpoint to her more pedestrian Inspector Wexford tales. My library is suggesting that because I like Ruth Rendell I should try Dervla McTiernan, so I am about to do so... catrub

I finished Toshikazu Kawaguchi's Before We Forget Kindness, the 5th book in the series about a café in Tokoyo in which time travel is possible. Despite the fact that a person can't change history by going back in time, can only meet someone who has been to the café, and must return before their special cup of coffee gets cold, the reasons for going back are as varied and touching as those who sit in the chair that takes them back. The books are quick reads but very heartwarming.

I just started Titanium Noir by Nick Harkaway and am already settled in for a good sci-fi mystery.

Lady L those sound fun: I will give them try.

I have just finished John Scalzi's space opera trilogy about the Interdependency: I had read the first two books some years ago, biut only recently got hold of the final one, The Last Emperor: enjoyable, and also funny and heartwarming. Now I am starting on a John Sandford tale, Toxic Prey, after a dose of macabre horror with The Troop by Nick Cutter.

Season's greetings to all https://jlcards.com/NG1Ge1 wave12
