Good morning everyone.
Draclvr, it's great that you're helping your friend with her diet. I get where she's coming from, though. I struggle to make myself decent meals sometimes. It's tough to cook just for yourself. My go-to meals, to make sure that I always have something decent, is to roast up some vegetables and cook a couple of chicken breasts or some prawns in a frying pan. The whole thing takes less than half an hour to prep. Otherwise I end up opening a can of chili or eating a pre-made burrito and the sodium content is through the roof.
About half of the leaves are down and it's time to get raking. If it doesn't rain this afternoon I'll get started on it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone! Emergency rations with instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room. Over here 11 Celsius and Mrs Cloud is covering the sky. Tonight there will be the time change mess-up in Europe. A few years ago the EU promised to end the madness but nothing has happend. They claim the 27(?) member countries can't agree on how to end the misery. Permanent normal time or permanent summer time. I'd prefer normal time but really don't care either way. Just end the misery. That aside it looks to be a normal peaceful and calm weekend. Happy saturday everyone!

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! Draclvr since I am up so early every morning I prep for dinner after my coffee. I eat my dinner in the early afternoon and usually have a salad at the normal dinner time...that way I am not eating late and I can burn off a few of those extra calories...it works for me. Prepping a meal in the morning when I have more energy makes it easier for me and I always make enough so I have leftovers for another day. Enjoy the weekend everyone! Gerry

Woo Hoo ... the weekend has arrived! I'm with you Fogfighter, there is always lots of talk over here about stopping the clock changing routine when we all collectively agree to mess up our internal clocks just to save...an hour of daylight! Thank goodness for WADDB and knäckebröd to get us through the change. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good Saturday morning! Late start today as the power went out for a little while. But I'm making time to spend a little time with my WADDB!
My friend was just blown away by all the stuff I had for her to take home and play with yesterday. Pizza sauce, marinara, applesauce, frozen sweet corn, chili sauce etc. All from the gardens. Her husband is about to retire and wants to garden as his mom always gardened and canned their food. She laughed when I told her the only way she was going to work on her goal was to cook. She said she spends at least an hour a day preparing raw meals for her two Malinois dogs, so she figured she could MAKE time to cook. Her husband complains and says the dogs eat better than he does anyway! Showed her the garlic bed and the asparagus patch and gave her a lot of "food for thought!" LOL! Told her to shop for veggies at the local produce market, but to stay away from any of the Amish offerings. She works in horse rescue too, so she knows about the unspeakable treatment of their horses and their puppy mills. But they also use a lot of chemicals to raise their produce. She left quite intrigued!
Laundry is done, floors and mopped and vacuumed... hmmm... what to do with this day! An odd feeling for me.
Once again, weeds are my life!

Good morning everyone.
I'm having a nice lazy day today. The weather is supposed to be quite awful this weekend, with very high winds and rain. It's a good day for gaming.
Draclvr, that was a very nice thing you did for your friend. Hopefully she can parlay that into some new cooking habits.
And now you can get into some gaming. I've been having a lot of fun on Fallout 76, not playing every day, but just having fun and not taking it seriously. I'm alternating with ESO and now Fallout 3 on my Steam Deck.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Ooo... a Steam Deck! How FUN, hagatha! How do you like it?? So far, I love it! I bought the 1TB OLED, which is the latest one, I think, and it's pretty slick. Everything loaded and updated without a hitch. Downloads seem to be fast. The battery life was about 5 hours but it will charge up while you play. Games like Fallout 3 aren't really supported but I'm playing with no trouble. Skyrim runs beautifully, though I can't stomach another game right now, having played it to death. Next I'll try one of the MMOs just to see how that goes. And recent games like the new Dragon Age will run on it. The unit is very light, and the screen is big enough to play and clear as can be with the high resolutions. I've been hearing about lagging but so far I've had no issues. One of the reasons I bought it is to do with my legs; a few hours at the computer and they swell (the joys of getting older ) even if I get up and walk around occasionally. This will allow me to be a couch potato with my legs up, with Willow in my lap. Also, how nice will it be to play a game on my covered patio in the summer?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Congratulations to the win Connie. And thanks for the DDB. (& Gerry for the WADDB) Over here Mr Rain is visiting all day. Fortunately there's no lack of things to do indoors. Happy Sunday, with or without sunshine

Good Sunday morning! A nice long lazy start to the day with my WADDB this morning. I "might" take myself to a movie in town today. I really want to see the new Beetlejuice movie in a theater!

Good Monday morning.
I'm just back from Pilates and pondering what chore to tackle today. It's pretty nice outside so perhaps some leaf raking is in order.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday afternoon! Breezed in and out for some WADDB this morning.
Prepping my last batch of hot sauce. I ferment to a pH of less that 4.0 and had to calibrate my pH tester as it was all over the place! You just empty a special powder into distilled water and then turn a tiny screw until it registers exactly a preset pH of the solution. I used to have to calibrate my field equipment in our small lab in the office once a month, so it was old school for me. The mash tested to pH 3.56, so it's ready to bottle up! Will strain, use the blender to make it a smooth consistency, heat up to kill the fermentation process and bottle up in steam sterilized bottles. Sending a box up to my brother in NW Iowa.
Once again, weeds are my life!

Good Morning Fogfighter, soot, connie, SpaceQ, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew awaits! I got my flu shot yesterday...no issues. We still have a red alert here for fire danger...a few wild fires in different parts of the state...going to be very windy again today...no rain for weeks now....leaves are mostly down and extremely dry and "crunchy". Hope to get in a walk early today before the wind picks up...in the 30s right now. Enjoy your day! Gerry
