Good Sunday morning! I had to take a few days for some self care. Had friends out for supper last night. Did a brisket in the oven all day and it was quite yummy. Several bottles of wine consumed and we had some much needed time together. Seems like everyone is always so busy! Kim and I are making plans to go see the Wicked movie.

Think I'll take the day off and do some gaming...

Happy Sunday everyone! A rare quiet day here. I had one meet and greet with a new boarder at my house and one group hike with my 3 pups staying at my house early this morning and now all the dogs are napping, hubby is watching football and telling the Bears coaches how horrible they are and I'm here just getting caught up on emails. Life is good!

Good Monday morning! Hubby headed up to our 120 acre family farm about 20 minutes from here to finish some repairs on his deer stand, so I have a nice quiet morning all to myself! Ah, WADDB to start the day.

Thanks for the emergency rations Fogfighter. We are having an unusually warm fall here...no frost yet!

Had a busy day yesterday. Had the gutter cleaned on the house. The handyman noticed a crack and dry rot on the "rubber boot" that surrounds the vent on the roof for the kitchen sink. I needed to get it replaced right away to prevent rain from getting in thru the ripped, rotted rubber boot!

Long story short I was able to get a carpenter/roofer we used for years to pick up one at Home Depot and replace it yesterday afternoon...I was so lucky!

I'm off to my Tuesday Pilates and then out to the lawyers to find find out what the heck is taking the so long to finish my Will. The associate who was handling it went off and started her own practise without telling me and it seems my documents are in limbo somewhere between the old office and the new. Very annoying. Also inexcusable.

It's a lovely clear, crisp morning after days of rain. The leaves are almost all down now except for a couple of holdouts in my front yard, notably the beautiful red-leaved Maple.

Good Tuesday morning! Gerry, SO glad you got that vent fixed so quickly. Nothing can do more damage than water.

Connie, I got my COVID booster and flu shot a month ago and so did hubby. I never have any issues, but he felt kind of draggy for several hours. He's back up at the farm today working on his deer stand. Step-daughter and her SO will be arriving tomorrow afternoon from Virginia. They bought a big travel camper and are bringing that to stay in at the farm. The old farmhouse up there is vacant, so it never gets aired out and Tom gets sick every time they stay there. The only heat is an ancient wood stove. At least it has indoor plumbing! I'm not hunting this year. Half of my old stand fell down anyway! I didn't care so much about the hunting, but being up in a deer stand with a cup of coffee at 5:30 am and then watching and listening to the woods wake up around you is really special.
