Good morning everyone. We've been in the 60s these past days and finally enjoying fall weather. Now if we can just get some regular rain to break the drought. I've started the annual battle with falling leaves. It started as a peaceful drift of foliage. But now is an ongoing, aggressive, relentless, leaf blitzkrieg! Enjoying WADDB and bagels. Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Good Saturday afternoon! Brrr... Marian! I know that kind of cold is coming, but I'm really never ready for it! You'd think growing up in NW Iowa where 30 below zero was the norm for winter, I'd be used to it. Or maybe that's why I hate it!
Ran up to the farm this morning to see how the deer hunters all fared. Step-daughter got a nice one early this morning. Got some lunch with everyone and headed back home to a nice quiet house all to myself!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone. Sunny and ~10 Celsius today. Apparently the dark side game Half-Life 2 has 20 year anniversary and you can get a free to keep copy from Steam until the 18th. That's tomorrow, so hurry everyone who like Half-Life.I am not much into first person shooters. I hear Half-Life is very popular but it's not my cup of tea. I will probably not even try to collect the offer. Here a link to a linux gaming site with info about the offer. Since I mosly do linux stuff nowadays I sometimes check on that site. Seems mostly reliable to me. Get Half-Life free from Steam?

Good morning everyone.
It was a wild on yesterday! Heavy winds and driving rain, plus a 4-hour power outage. No way to be making a cat house outside in that weather. Instead, I grabbed one of my dandy lanterns, and played Veilguard on my Steam Deck all afternoon, in front of the fire. If I can get myself moving I might go to the craft show at a local resort later on today, but so far I'm enjoying my nice coffee and doing nothing.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Sunday morning! Chilly, but not terribly cold this morning, but the WADDB is warming me up nicely.
Another blessed day all to myself! Laundry and floors done and only making quickie chili for supper tonight when hubby gets home. I'm thinking I'll pull a "hagatha" and game or read all afternoon. Unfortunately, the fireplace is in the living room, so I'll have to make do with my little heater.
When the weather is wild like yesterday, does Dude break down and come inside to be a lazy cat by the fire?
Thanks for the heads up about Half Life, Fogfighter! I play a lot of FPS games, but I already have this one. It's an oldie!

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Fogfighter, Draclvr, Hagatha and everyone. Yes I did Gerry and I'll do a little more today as I enjoy the time outside in the yard this time of the year. How long do the local Office Depots close their physical shops Fogfighter? Time for WADDB, knäckebröd and donuts. Have a wonderful Monday everyone

Good Monday morning! Warming back up, but still kinda chilly in the morning. Yikes, Fogfighter! That's cold!
Step-daughter and hubby are working up her deer meat today and freezing it. I don't care for it and neither does hubby, but she loves it and doesn't even buy beef or pork from the grocery store.
I'm going to make home made pizza for everyone later.

How long do the local Office Depots close their physical shops Fogfighter? I am only aware of the Office Depot operations in Sweden being affected. Don't know if other countries will be affected too.

Good morning everyone. Fogfighter, Half Life 2 is an excellent game. I still play it from time to time. Give it a shot. You might enjoy a walk on the Dark Side of the gaming world. It's a lovely day here, cold but clear and sunny. Unfortunately, that bomb cyclone we've been hearing about on the west coast of the U.S. will also hit us, starting tomorrow. I hope trees don't fall on my house... I'm doing a bit of of cleanup and then it's gaming time. I'm really enjoying my Steam Deck. Best present I've bought myself in years.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone ... enjoying WADDB, knäckebröd, bagels and listening to the pitter patter of rain. Looks like it'll be raining most of the day. Grocery shopping is on the docket for today. Wishing you all a wonderful Tuesday.

Good Tuesday morning. Chilly and sunny here in the middle of the US!
I have my annual appointment with my dermatologist later today. I have had a couple of cancerous lesions removed over the years, so make sure I see him at least once a year. Will stop at the vet's office to get another bag of the $60 for 6 pounds of special urinary care cat food. Egads... it's costs me more to feed 3 cats than it does the two of us!

Good morning everyone and enjoy your coffee. I know I will.
I'm bracing for the coming storm, made myself a thermos of tea so I have a hot drink when we have the inevitable power outage, and even a pot of cold brew coffee for tomorrow morning just in case. All my gadgets are fully charged.
Fortunately it looks as though the Nanaimo area will not get the full force of the storm; that is reserved for parts north on the Island, including Campbell River. I'm almost glad not to be there in my old waterfront home on the high bank -- the winter winds always made the big windows flex and in this storm it will be terrifying there.
Fogfighter, I resisted action/RPG games for years, playing only point and click adventures, and then I bought Baldur's Gate on a whim. Then came Deus Ex and my fate was sealed. (I wish someone would remake the original Deus Ex. It is such a great game, with such a great story.) Anyway, I hope you like the game.

Adventure Games were my staple diet for many years but I consider MY introduction to Action games to be the "Quest for Glory" series which, although difficult for me at the time, I found myself enjoying However, my first REAL dark side games was (like hagatha) "Baldur's Gate". And what a game that still is !! With re-plays just as exciting Took me months to get through it but I loved it and after it decided to attempt more of the genre. Of course, lots were much too difficult for my wimpy action talents so I had to be "selective" [And plain shooters were absolutely out of the question .... and still are ]

Mad, one of the QFG games had a few combat sections in it (QFG 6, maybe?) and I was outraged, just outraged! Then there was a game on the Orient Express, and it had one combat section, and again I was outraged. Now I would find those games boring. The wind is starting outside. Ferries are almost all cancelled. I suppose most flights will be, too. Hopefully nothing too awful will happen, though I see that the north part of the Island has snow.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I know you have battened down your hatches, hagatha. I heard about this atmospheric river heading your way on the news. Stay safe and hope Dude stays inside!

Due is outside right now. He is obseesed with being outside in any weather. He'll be checking in soon and then I'll lock him in for the night.
EDIT: It's pretty wild out there! Branches everywhere. Dude came in a while back. Never seen wind like this before.
