Crisp and sunny here today, a respite from the rain but possibly only a brief one, just long enough for a final cut of the grass for this year. Apparently a wise man once said: "If you understand why Pizzas are made round, packed in square boxes and then eaten in triangular slices... then my friend you will understand women."

Good Tuesday morning! Cold and sunny here today. Soot, forecast for Saturday is chance of snow with lows in the teens. Winter is definitely here.
Did some shopping for Thanksgiving yesterday. I am bringing the dressing to step-son and DIL's house on Thursday which I always do in a crock pot and some sweet corn. Then I will do another full dinner for just us on Saturday. Hubby hates brussels sprouts and I love them, so I'm trying a new recipe for me... Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts with roasted acorn squash, dried cranberries and pecans.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning all.
It's a chores day today. I still have bare walls and an excess of large framed nature photographs. John was a superb photographer, and happily I have many pictures to choose from.
Then it's off to Canadian Tire to pick up some cleaner for my hardwood floors.
Draclvr, I am one of those who dislikes Brussel Sprouts, but if they have crumbled bacon on them, it's a different story, Yours sound marvellous.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Wednesday morning - by only one minute I see! Lazy day today as it gets colder. Hubby asked for sauerkraut and sausage with mashed potatoes today, so I will throw that together later. Will get my bread cubed, onions, celery and sausage cooked and put my dressing together in the crock pot for dinner tomorrow.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good afternoon Draclvr, Hagatha, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry and everyone. The coffee and treats were wonderful this morning, Busy morning here with some lab work at the hospital and then off to the zoo with daughter, SIL and grandboys. Then sprinkle last minute shopping for Thanksgiving needs and it's been a busy time. Snow and teen temps are very cold Draclvr!! Have a wonderful day everyone

Good morning everyone. Emergency rations with instant coffee and Hershey's kisses available in the break room. Should keep you going until the real Thanksgiving treats arrive. Over here thanksgiving is not a thing and Mr Snow is returning. Seems it will be winter this season too. Happy Thanksgiving, to those who celebrate

Good morning everyone. I'm off to Pilates and then some chores in town. It's cold now, below zero at night. The landscapers were here yesterday for the Fall cleanup, and now my garden is all nicely trimmed and raked and put to bed. Hopefully pruning the Wisterias now will result in blooms next Spring; they didn't bloom this year, but the landscaper explained that they were covered in very old growth and a good prune should set them straight. I hit the online Black Friday sales (which have been going on for a few days) and am expecting a couple of packages, some gifts for family and gifts for me, too
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Got my stuffing made and in the crock pot to take to step-son and DIL's today. I've been reading about some of the different stuffing traditions around the country. I've had cornbread based stuffing that is more common in the south and it's quite good. The Pennsylvania Dutch make something called "filling" which is a combination of stuffing and mashed potatoes baked in a casserole. I hated my Grandma's stuffing because she put all the stuff in it that I hated - hearts and gizzards and livers. Yuck! Some people swear by apples and raisins in their stuffing. We prefer the good old basic bread stuffing with nothing more fancy in it but onions, celery and seasonings. I do fry up half a pound of breakfast sausage to add since I'm making it in a crock pot and not in the bird. However you celebrate the day here in the US or don't have Thanksgiving - enjoy the day!
