Good Morning everyone! A sunny and chilly Friday before Christmas over here. Not enough snow for making snow-men. The WADDB helps. About the mini game: Managed to compile for Windows and compatibles. Turned out the XP/ReactOS version doesn't run well on XP because of my use of exotic charachters. I have had success on Linux, ReactOS and Windows 10. If any daring GameBoomer want to test and comment I'd be happy about that. Here a link to the my site. It is no cost freeware. Dark Vesta Windows versionThe actual game? Is text-based. Takes place on the dwarf planet Vesta. Is about restoring main power by cracking the not so secret code and enter the correct characters. 12 steps. Could very well have been an entry to the Garden of Puzzling delights. But is a program instead. No wordplay or trickery involved but there are some red herrings. I see several differents paths of solving the problem. I hope you can enjoy the mini game. Very modest system requirements. Very small download size. Runs well in virtual machines. Here the link to the Linux Version in case any one fancy Linux. Dark Vesta Linux version

Good morning connie, Fogfighter, Gerry, Draclvr, hagatha, Beasong, Orion and all who follow. Draclvr, saddened by your news for your ancient barn kitty, this holiday will be bittersweet as her absence leaves a space words cannot fill. Hope the dentist visit was quick and smooth hagatha. Orion, did you get the weather to see the Cold Moon last Sunday the 15th? It was awesome at my end. Do you publish commercial games Fogfighter? Grocery shopping is on my docket today. Wishing you all a warm T.G.I.F. good morning and day!

Good Friday morning! It's cold, dreary and very windy here... perfect day for the WADDB. Yes, Gerry, I got to have a lazy day yesterday.
I need to get the tiny downstair bathroom cleaned up. The old barn kitty lived in there and I haven't had the heart to go in and get rid of the litter box and her food bowls. But we will need it after hubby has his knee surgery, so I need to get it done.
It's not impossible that because this bathroom is so small and he's so big - 6' 6" - that he won't be able to use it. We can't figure out how he will be able to get up off the toilet and have to wonder if he shouldn't go to a rehab facility for the first week or so. We have an appointment with the Physical Therapist and his pre-op team Monday. I'm going to take some pics and see what they think.

Drac, my heart breaks for you with the loss of your kitty, but he had the very best life with you. My husband had both his knees replaced. It's really not as difficult as you think. You walk out of there and I didn't have to help him at all around the house. They teach you steps and walking before you get out and both were outpatient. Have a happy day all!

Yes, but was your husband 80 at the time! Our problem is our house - it's a 100+ year old farmhouse and there is no downstairs bedroom. Yes, we can set up a cot, but the information they have given him says he has to keep the knee extended while trying to get up and down. There is a bathroom downstairs, but it's beyond tiny and there is not enough room for him to do that. There is a very tiny shower which he can barely fit in and has no room for a shower chair which they require. Problem there is he's 6' 6"!
I took pictures of everything and I guess they will let us know our options at the PT appointment Monday.

Draclvr, my mother had both her hips replaced when she was 80. It went very well.

Everyone I know says hip replacement is a breeze compared to knee replacement. My mom had both hers replaced when she was in her late 70's and they were a breeze.

Good Morning fogfighter, connie, soot, Draclvr, Ana, hagatha and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready on this cold wintery day! Connie I too find wrapping a chore, but once I get going on it I do enjoy it. Draclvr everyone heals differently and age can be a factor, but with physical therapy it should make a difference...and they may have him in rehab for a week to be sure he is able to get around okay. You should get some answers at the appointment on Monday...Good Luck. Fogfighter I have an iMac desk top computer so I don't think I can test the game. I am impressed that you have the skill to create a game ...I have trouble just figuring how do do things on the computer...especially when things get updated and don't look the same and don't work the same! It is going to be a bitter cold weekend here...I walked 5 very cold miles yesterday with my neighbor. I plan on staying warm by the fire this weekend, play some games, work on a 1,000 piece puzzle, read and just relax...no stress! Enjoy your Day everyone! Gerry

Good day everyone! 2 Celsius, snow on the ground and already dark here. Dark but not too late for WADDB and Bagels. I also still got some wrapping to do. At least most gifts already aquired. Gerry. I'm afraid I will never be able to program for iMac. Linux and Windows is all I can do. My skill level is good enough for simple programming but complex games would be way too much for me. Expect no Fogfighter adventure game AAA titles on Steam. I just do 2D stuff with no bells and whistles and very few moving parts. Still a nice hobby. Happy Saturday GameBoomers

Good morning everyone,
I'm off to Comox this rainy morning. It's the solstice today, isn't it? It's very dark and I'm not looking forward to the drive, but at least it isn't howling wind, too, at least not yet.
There's a huge PetSmart there, so I'll pick up some Christmas goodies for the cats, who are chatting away to each other right now for some reason. I think Dude is trying to get Willow to play. He's taught her to do the blinky love eyes, as she has always been starer.
It was a gorgeous night last night, with clear skies and quite warm. The Steller Sea Lions are back and barking away down on the waterfront. They're pretty loud on a silent night.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday afternoon! Missed the break room this morning as I started tackling the laundry backup right after breakfast.
And yes, today is the Winter Solstice - the longest night and shortest day of the year!
Fogfighter, you might want to post your question about recruiting some testers for your game in our Adventure Games Discussion forum. I'm sure you will get some takers there!
Hubby's appetite is back, so I decided to conjure up some lasagna for dinner tonight.

Sunday and already dark outdoors. Not much sunshine today. But not too late for the WADDB. Thanks for the Christmas Card Lex. A friend use to send such cards each Christmas. They are nice. And thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'll make a post in the Adventure Game Discussion Forum, or rather do some copy and paste. Happy Sunday Game'Boomers!

Good morning everyone,
We're having another major wind storm. Hopefully the BC Hydro trucks cut back enough trees to prevent another long power-outage.
I have my coffee and my Steam Deck and I look forward to a day of relaxing in front of the fire.
Thanks for the card, Lex!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Sunday morning! Lex, I love Jacquie Lawson cards - thank you!
Kind of a lovely lazy morning with my WADDB. There are lots of leftovers in the fridge, so I'm even not going to cook anything today!
