Good Sunday morning! I WISH we would see the sun, Gerry! It's still dark and dreary here.

Settling in with a cup of WADDB before I have to finish all my prep work for the rib roast dinner tonight. Really just need to put together the Gruyere cheese potatoes since I'm just thawing out a couple packages of sweet corn. Then I'll prep the roast and get it in the oven by 1:00.

It's another typical gloomy day here but for once I managed to sleep in; a rarity these days and very welcome

I was up quite late last night on line dealing with a fraudulent charge on my main credit card, which I use for everything. I had to cancel the card and now have to change the payment methods for many of my monthly bills. I can do a lot of it on line, fortunately, but what a hassle. I'm trying to think where I might have used my card that would make it vulnerable. I always check for scams before I use websites. Anyway, it's done, and fortunately VISA caught the fraudulent charge immediately. It was from "Amazon Digital." Strange.

Today I finally must venture out for groceries -- I managed to put it off until now but the fridge is empty.

I've had to do that a couple of times, but it's been many years since. But my card detected the fraud immediately both times.

I was wondering how I was going to do a major grocery shop without my credit card and then remembered this old fashioned thing called "money."

Fogfighter we had warm temperatures Saturday with rain and all the snow melted here too. Soot I was able to get in a short walk 1+ miles once it stopped raining in the afternoon...i don't have enough energy late in the day to do a long walk because I'm tired and up to early! Draclvr your dinner sounded delicious...how was the rib roast and those yummy potatoes with the Gruyere cheese? Hagatha that is so stressful dealing with credit card fraud. My sister had it happened to her too and it was resolved quickly, but she to had to get a new card as well.

It is a raining start to my Monday...hope you all get to see the sun today...enjoy your day!

I made a short walk too. To the café which was open. Got coffee. Black without sugar. Today 3 Celsius and still cloudy.
Year end is here. Time to wrap up 2024 and prepare for next year.

I'm off to Pilates this morning after a week of no classes and I'm not feeling the love. Nevertheless, a couple of cups of coffee and a shower will set me straight.

Good Monday morning! We got to see the sun for about 20 minutes yesterday, but it's back to being dark and dreary again. The WADDB might drag me out of this dreary weather funk!

Dinner last night was really good. The roast was perfect and I do think Gruyere is now my new favorite cheese! The strawberry shortcake was such a treat in the middle of the winter! I got my granddaughter a towel warmer for her Christmas gift. When I told her that her Colorado cousins were using their towel warmers for blankets, jammies and socks too, she said it was going to be perfect to curl up in a warm blanket to study at college.

Back to freezing temperature today! Better be careful when walking outdoors. Because slippery roads.
Indeed last day of the year. Some people have already started firing of the fireworks. Highly annoying. They should wait until midnight.

Also time for new year's resolutions. I don't smoke so don't have to quit smoking. Will try to make a new mini-game instead. Haven't even begun yet. That has to wait until next year.

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. New Year's Eve party at the Eagles tonight. I'm making sweet chili meatballs. There will be a 3 piece band, food, drink, and champagne at midnight with lots of hugs. Enjoy the day and hug someone.

Good New Year's Eve morning! I have my ticket for admittance to my living room tonight. The dress code is comfy sweats and there may be a glass of wine at midnight!

I love those sweet chili meatballs, Connie. I'm a sucker for all those yummy party foods!

I was going to make some Chicken Modiga for dinner tonight, but we still have so many leftovers I think we'll work on those.

Having a very sore hip I skipped Pilates in favour of extra coffee and a nice leisurely morning. It's a lovely day, so I may venture out for a walk, as that seems to help my hip. Otherwise, I'm going to sit back and chill.

I just stepped outside and the Stellar Sea Lions are barking, and it's very loud! They must be extremely close. Instead of New Year's fireworks, I get sea lions barking. It's a good trade, I think.

I'll take barking sea lions over fireworks any day!
