Good morning/day everyone.

Nice skywatching tip Orion, though I didn't get the chance to check it out.
Over here -5 Celsius and sunny today. But short days this season. Mrs Sun is already starting to hide.
I did some walking today Gerry. To the local café and back. A bit icy pavements but I made it.
Forgot to buy eggs so got to venture out again.

Happy Saturday Gameboomers!

Good morning Fogfighter, Gerry, SQF, Orion, Draclvr, hagatha and all who pop in for wide awake double dark brew and treats. Thanks for the video Orion. Hope you got your walk in hagatha. Yes indeed Gerry and Fogfighter, we've had cold, but good weather and got my morning walks completed. I've managed to avoid crowds in the stores Draclvr, lucky timing on my part.

Have a great weekend everyone wave

Good Saturday morning. Hubby's ham is done and cut off the bone to take the to the FINAL big family Christmas today. I made ham gravy and we are leaving shortly.

The big storm is supposed to arrive after 10 pm tonight. Our area is predicted to have 5" - 9" of "wintery mix of sleet and snow." As much as 15 inches is predicted north of us and a lot of ice and freezing rain south of us. NOT looking forward to this storm!

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Early morning over here.

Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd are available in the break room. Outdoos -9 Celsius.
Tomorrow Monday plenty of snow and more traffic chaos is expected. I agree with draclvr 'NOT looking forward to this'
Perfect for staying mostly indoors and being creative. When life gives you lemons...

Happy Sunday Gameboomers!

Dreadful weather continuing here in the UK !!

Widespread disastrous flooding in many areas (and still months from the damage etc being dealt with) is now being followed by temperatures dropping to as low as minus 10 - along with freezing rain, ice, snow and sleet this coming week.

I have been very lucky in that MY immediate area has escaped the floods 🙄

Good Morning Fogfighter, soot, Draclvr, connie, oldbroad, SpceQ, Mad, and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew awaits! wave

It sounds like we are all going to get some stormy weather in the next couple days. Draclvr I hope all is well with you today and the storm ends this morning. Mad sorry to hear about the terrible flooding in the UK...I hope the floods continue to stay away from your area. Fogfighter sounds like you will get some time to plan your next game and if weather permits, a walk to your local cafe.

Stay safe today everyone! It might be a good day to stay indoors and game! happydance12 shiver

Good morning Gerry, Mad, Fogfighter, SQF, oldbroad, Draclvr and all who follow. So good to hear your locale has escaped the flooding Mad! Enjoying your knäckebröd Fogfighter with a cup of Gerry's WADDB. No worries Connie, after all tomorrow is another day. Winter storms are Mother Nature’s way of reminding us who's in charge.

Stay safe out there—icy roads and flooding don’t mix well with plans!

Good Sunday morning - to the rest of you! This storm is really quite bad with the snow, sleet and ice. Hard to tell how much snow/sleet we got last night, but several inches for sure. This morning it is raining ice. And, oh no! It just got really dark and thundered. When it thunders during a winter storm, that means you usually get even more snow and ice... they call it thunder snow. Hubby just got in from taking care of the chickens and feeding Wally the barn cat and said it was really ugly out there.

SO glad we got the big family Christmas over with yesterday. Several live about 2 hours away and they were all heading home right after to beat the storm.

So, we are just hunkering down here and praying the power stays on! We have a gas fireplace and I could still use my gas range. Got all our devices charged just in case!

Good morning everyone.

Around zero and heavy snowfall is expected. After strenghtening my spirits with WADDB it's time to venture outdoors in search of more coffee. Yesterday's vistit was successful. Though cold. And I had to do the penguin walk. Becuase icy pavement. Looks corny but is better than broken femur.

Happy

Good Monday morning! YAY! We still have power, although we are buried under several inches of sleet and ice and a LOT more snow. Hubby said there is a 2 foot drift in the driveway. It snowed all night long and it's deep out there. Who knows when they will plow us out on this country road! The neighbor kids are coming over to shovel the sidewalk to the front door and we'll have to take the ice chipper to get the rest of it. We can't open the door right now! He was able to get the blade on the tractor Friday, so will be heading out after breakfast to clear the worst of the drifts. It was 12 degrees F last night (-11 C) and supposed to go down to zero or below by the end of the week.

Good times.

Good morning everyone!

Draclvr, that sounds awful. We used to get horrible storms like that in Toronto back in the day, where the drifts were so deep you could make a snow castle without having to pile the snow and the temperature was so low it practically froze your breath. The rain here gets depressing but at least we're not snowed under.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good afternoon everybody!

Here we have a small layer of something white on our sidewalks. My brother thought it was snow that he could sweep off of the front steps but it required salt. I remember those days of trying not to fall and break something while I walked to and from the bus stops when I still worked. I don't miss that!

It's a gloomy start to the week here. Hopefully, it will clear up for all of us soon!

Over here in Sweden we don't call the three wise guys kings. But today is a public holiday. Despite a century of social democratic domination the holiday is still here. The social democrats don't appreciate Christianity but realized removing a holiday would not be popular among the voters. So we still have that holiday. I'm not aware of any special celebrations or activities. For example no extra candy for the kids. though I assume the Church had some program for today. Meanwhile the common citizizens appreciate a day off.

Very few people celebrate or even observe the Epiphany. Although some leave their Christmas decorations up until that day.

Isn't that just the best feeling, oldbroad! I used to have to get up at 5:00 am and walk down to the end of the driveway to check the road to see if it was passable! I had a field office at one of the State Parks and when the weather was bad, the Parks Department closed the State Park and the Visitor's Center which is where my office was. But MY Division did not have the day off, so I had to drive down to the Park, enter the code to open the gate and unlock the doors to get inside to my office upstairs. Being in that Visitor's Center all alone for 8 hours was the creepiest thing ever!!
