I used to have "creepy" work experiences like that, too, Draclvr. At one time, I was book-keeper for a massive Crane Builders and Repair company - out in the remote wilds of middle England - and during the main works holiday periods I still had to be on site to carry on with my usual day to day stuff and also (being the only one on site) to deal with telephone orders and queries etc. because even all the bosses were away. It was extremely scary being the only person there and I absolutely hated it. I used to lock every door in the place .. all gates and doors to outbuildings and to the work yards .. but especially to my office !!

There was a big celebration for 3 Kings Day in a neighborhood quite near to where I live. Besides Mass at different churches, there was a parade that featured the 3 Wise Men on horseback.
The "creepy" thing where I worked was the rats. Since there were only usually two of us at the job towards the end (me upstairs and another woman downstairs), the rats were more visible. I am not talking mice or small rats either. Some of these were quite large and they were not timid! This was a warehouse environment.

Oh, my goodness, oldbroad! Rats! I'm not afraid of rodents, but NOT in my place of work! Mad, as I was working in the field most of the time, I only spent one or two days a week in my office. I simply had no idea that building had that many bizarre sounds! There was a large display area with huge fish tanks downstairs and sometimes I would just go down there and hang with the fish to have some company! And although no one could enter the State Park and there was usually a LOT of snow on the ground, yes, that building was locked up tight!

Good Tuesday morning! Whew! Thank you, fogfighter for doing that rodent check!
They actually plowed our road yesterday! They are begging people to stay home for one more day which they let the workers get the highways, streets and roads open. Not a problem for me! Hubby is going to make a run in town to get something to thaw our sidewalk and front steps. We have salt, but he would prefer to not put it on the concrete. It's actually too cold for salt to work anyway. It only thaws down do 15 degrees F and it's colder than that here.
Think I'll conjure up a pot of ham and beans today.

Oldbroad, kitty litter will definitely help with traction. What he is getting is high nitrogen fertilizer from the farm store in a neighboring town. However, this should not be used in cities and towns where there is runoff into storm drains etc. as it's high nitrogen can pollute our waterways. Most state and city crews use calcium chloride in a liquid form. It melts down to -20 degrees F and doesn't damage surfaces like salt does.

Good morning everyone. Hibernating mode over here too. A feet of snow outdoors. Expecting to survive on instant coffee and knäckebröd until Sunday or so. Not cold yet but may become unpleasant when temperature drops and the thick wet snow begins freezing. Also we're out of cat litter. Sand will have to do. Take care and Happy Wednesday Gameboomers!

Good morning Fogfighter, Connie, Gerry, Draclvr, oldbroad and everyone. WADDB and bagels are the best way to start a chilly, cold morning Gerry and Connie. We're not as cold as you Gerry, Fogfighter or Draclvr (and many others I imagine) but with temps falling into the 20s overnight my bird baths are freezing, so need to empty them after sunset and refill in the mornings. 👑 Keep calm and stay warm -- it's only Wednesday -- we still have two more days to go. Have an awesome day everyone

Good Wednesday morning. Yes, we have the same temps hovering in the single digits here too. I believe it was 9 degrees F this morning. Hibernation mode engaged!
Grabbing a cup of WADDB to settle it for the morning. Then I will tackle a couple of cleaning jobs I've been putting off. Got mountains of dust and cat hair after moving a very heavy dresser yesterday!
Think I will wait one more day before venturing out on the roads. Some of the country highways were still pretty bad yesterday.

Good morning everyone.
It's another one of our "nothing" days; gloomy and wet. I'm off downtown to do some chores, and after that it's going to be a couch-potato afternoon with my Steam Deck by the fire. I must, say, it's a dandy gaming machine. I got accustomed to the small screen very quickly.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
