Good Monday afternoon! We left the house at 5:15 am this morning. Hubby's surgery went extremely well, but to no one's shock, the surgeon said his knee was really, really bad! I left him about 11:30. He was in his room on the motion machine and the ice machine and had just ordered lunch. They put him on the machines before he even left the recovery room. He will have to do the machines for 2 hours 3 times a day. They plan on getting him up to walk later this afternoon. He will spend one night in the hospital and come home some time tomorrow.
It was 13 degrees F when we left and supposed to stay cold to the end of the week. Glad I got all his junk in the garage cleaned out Saturday so I can pull the cab of his big truck inside. Then he can get in the house that way. There are 5 steps, but there are steps no matter which door you use! This is going to be an adventure!

Yeah, this knee replacement surgery has changed a lot over the years. My sister has had both hers done quite a few years and they didn't do the machine so soon. I think with her first one, they didn't even have one - just PT!

Good Morning connie, soot, Draclvr, Marian, old broad, Mad, Fogfighter, and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew awaits to start your day! Draclvr how is hubby doing? Did you get him home okay and up the stairs into the house without an issue? Soot I got to take my 4+ mile walk yesterday...it was a little warmer and just a little breeze. Today it is turning cold again and the wind will be back...I have a hair cut this morning so I won't have time for a walk and I'm too tired in the afternoon to walk. Hope you all have a good day! Once again, good Tuesday afternoon! Picked hubby up from the hospital and got him home and up the 5 steps into the house. A good friend is retired military and around during the day, so he brought in the heavy motion machine and took it upstairs for me. Then he followed hubby up the narrow old farmhouse steps just in case. Woot! Got him safely ensconced up there with his TV, bed, a chair and a big bathroom he can maneuver around in right at hand.
I've made so many trips up and down the stairs that now MY knees are speaking to me!

Good morning everyone! There was a big bright moon over here too yesterday. Now cloudy. Temperature around freezing. Still snow on the ground and allegedly perilously slippery outdoors. Be careful everyone, if you happen to live in icy places. Draclvr: nice that your knees have begun talking. Say hello to them from me. Happy Wednesday GameBoomers!

Good morning Connie Fogfighter Gerry Draclvr Marian OldBroad Mad SQF Lex and everyone. Enjoyed my walk this morning with our GSD, the waning moon and Mars. Daily projects and chores on my docket for the day. Have fun at Bingo tonight Connie. We were hovering just below freezing this morning Fogfighter, but no snow or ice to challenge my excursion. Enjoying a cup of WADDB and danish. Enjoy the day everyone.

Good Wednesday morning! Thank heavens for the WADDB, Gerry! I needed it after this morning's adventures!
Of course, he had a really rough night last night with pain - to be expected. And of course, the knee was swollen this morning. So, right away, gotta get the ice machine going on it. And once again, OF COURSE! The ice maker in the refrigerator decided to stop working last night! I had put some water bottles in the refrigerator freezer out in the garage last night... OF COURSE, I forgot that when it's this cold - zero F this morning - the freezer doesn't work out there. Finally found a big bag of ice after rooting around in the chest freezer.
LOL, Fogfighter, my knees say good morning! They feel pretty good, but it's early and there are many more trips up and down the stairs today!
I have to navigate ice, ice, ice going over to the barn and the chicken house. I look for patches of snow for at least a little traction. We've had a few days of sun and upper 20's which melts the top of the snow and when it freezes at night turns it into a skating rink. Then I have Wally the barn cat who insists on being under my feet!
Good times.

Good morning everyone,
I'm off for my latest COVID shot this morning, and then a quick tidy. I'm feeling very tired today for some reason. I think I'll just curl up with a book today.
Draclvr, I'm happy to hear that your husband is doing okay. Take care out on the ice.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. Above freezing temperatures. Still plenty of snow and ice. I'll follow Gerry's advice and tread warily. I keep my fingers crossed for Draclvr's knees. I hope they keep behaving and being polite. Happy Thursday everyone!

Good morning everyone.
This last COVID shot made my shoulder hurt! I woke up very early, as I had rolled over onto it. Nothing much happening around here. I have a dentist appointment this morning but if it's nice later I may go for a long walk. My usual walk companions all seem to be sick with a very persistent cold -- not COVID, apparently, or even flu, ,just a lingering cold, which I have fortunately avoided. A couple of people in my Pilates class also have had it.
Enjoy the day, everyone!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Thursday morning! Sunny and above freezing today. But all it will do is thaw the surface and then it will refreeze tonight making it even slicker. The only way this is going away is an entire week of above freezing temps at night! But the sun still feels good.
Hubby finally gave up on the prescribed pain med... it just wasn't working. So he tried his pain meds he takes for his back. That along with some extra strength Tylenol finally did the trick and the pain subsided to a dull roar so he got some sleep last night. Got him on the motion machine for a couple of hours and now I'm headed out to the chicken house and the barn. Need to make a run in town today too.
