Good morning everyone.
I woke up with an earache that precludes doing much of anything today, so no Pilates or walking.
Draclvr, I've never heard of that weather phenomenon. Interesting. I hope your friend wasn't badly hurt.
We're having a spate of lovely but cold weather, down to freezing at night, and dropping below freezing today. The cats are mightily miffed. It's slippery enough that I'm having to be careful walking down the driveway to take the bins out; it's short, but steep so I need to wear boots with a heavy tread.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone! Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room. No frost quakes over here but Mr Snow returned and barely covers the ground. Again dangerously slippery conditions. Mostly decent traction, until there isn't. The hexagons are behaving better today. Ms Bee is happy about that. Take care and happy Tuesday Gameboomers!

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready and much needed on this cold Arctic weather day! Temp is below zero and once the wind picks up later it will feel even colder! Draclvr how are you and hubby doing? Hagatha hope the earache is better today. Fogfighter thanks for the rations this morning...be careful if you go out! I have been cat sitting for a neighbor...today will be the last day...it will be very slippery walking down to my neighbor's...the road is extremely icy as well as the driveway. Hope you all stay warm and comfy indoors today! Gerry

Good Tuesday morning! Below zero here too this morning... -2 degrees F. I see the wind is picking up again, so it will be right miserable when I go out to the barn and chicken house this morning.
Gerry, we are doing OK. Hubby still has a lot of pain as the pain meds aren't helping much. But he keeps up with his exercises and the ice machine. Today he has a visit from the Home PT. She is supposed to change his dressing today, so I'm washing some of his things like the grippy socks from the hospital which he really needs for his walking. He would like to try to get downstairs for awhile today, but is going to wait for her to get here. Going up is not a problem, but going down is dicey. Mostly it's because of our twisty, narrow old farmhouse stairs.

Good morning Boomers,
I've been reading the news about the cold snap in the U.S. . It's rough for people when they aren't used to the cold and driving in snow; lots of accidents and falls, I fear. I hope everyone affected stays safe.
We're having yet another cold but clear day. The only drawback to this much sun is that I can see how dirty my windows are, and they are smeared with dirty cat paw prints, too -- they get my attention when they want to be let in by pawing at the French Doors.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning! Emergency rations with instant coffee and knäckebröd are available in the break room. Over here foggy, some snow and temperature just around freezing. Better not venture outdoors too much. I keep my fingers crossed for those of you who suffer unusual cold or cat paws or narrow stairs. Be careful and happy Wednesday Gameboomers.

Good Wednesday morning! Wow, it was all the way up to 15 degrees F this morning - a heat wave! Might get above freezing, but that will only make my situation on the ice worse.
Gerry, hubby was not able to make it downstairs yesterday while the PT was here. His blood pressure had dropped so low he was dizzy when he stood up... like 84/54! Not a time to try to navigate our twisty narrow stairs. It went up a couple of hours later. I talked to his doctor and he said his system was probably still messed up from all the trauma and to just keep a close watch on it. His PT is a good friend of ours and she gave him a bunch of things to do before standing up and they have helped a lot. He's going to go for a shower today. I had gotten some of those thick disposable pre-moistened cloths to wash himself with and they have worked well. But there is nothing like the real thing!

Good morning everyone. Emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd are available in the break room. Over here around freezing and snow is expected. Though not as much as in Florida and New Orleans. I hope it turns out well for Draclvr's hubby and that shower cooperates. Happy Thursday GameBoomers

Good Morning Fogfighter and everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark brew is ready and waiting for you! Thanks for the rations Fogfighter. The snow down south is amazing connie. Soot I hope it warms up for walking today. I did get to take my walk yesterday...it felt so good to get out in the fresh air...no wind and it was sunny so did not feel as cold. Draclvr my sister told me her doctor said when her blood pressure drops that low to eat some salted crackers and it will help raise her bp...maybe your hubby could try that.....standing up very slowly might help too. Enjoy your day everyone! Gerry

Good Thursday morning! It will be right around freezing today, but no sun. So I hope no melting of the ice just to refreeze! My paths to the barn and chicken house made of ashes my neighbor spread are working perfectly, but my boots track in so much stuff. I'm just going to not worry about mopping that sun porch floor until this is gone for good!
Hubby did get a shower yesterday - yay! His PT gave him a bunch of things to do before he stood up and also told him he wasn't drinking enough water. Of course, I had already told him that and he didn't listen! She comes again this morning and hopefully can help him navigate those twisty narrow steps today! I think he just mentally needs to get out of that bedroom! Thankfully, he reads a lot. He did finally turn off the TV and has stopped watching all news which helps. I did see him watching a few old western movies.
I am going to go ahead and go to my league bowling tonight.

Good morning everyone.
Draclvr, I'm glad to hear your husband is getting better. I remember pleading with John to drink more water during his illness. I never could get him to do it. Stubborn.
It's another nice day and I guess I'll go for a walk.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

LOL! Hagatha, it's odd how when his PT told him the same thing he listened! He was able to make it downstairs and is happily ensconced in his recliner with a cat in his lap and a book. Progress! I'm washing sheets while he's out of the bed.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, Draclvr, hagatha, soot, Mad and everyone! Wide Awake Double dark brew is ready for this cold wintery morning! Be safe if you venture out in the snow Fogfighter. Connie enjoy the conference. Soot hope you get out for a walk today. Draclvr it seems like all spouses listen when someone else tells them what to do even though we already have said the same thing to them! I walked yesterday and hope to walk again today...maybe even get to the grocery store if my car starts...its been sitting for a week. Have a Happy Friday! Gerry

Good morning Gerry, Fogfighter, Connie, Draclvr, Hagatha, Mad and everyone. Ah, a nice cup of steaming WADDB to warm me up with knäckebröd. Gerry, as long as the temperature is not below 20 degrees then Max and I go walking...below that I don't take him for a walk until later in the day when it warms up. Glad you were able to walk yesterday and get one in today. Great news Draclvr, how was bowling last night? Enjoy the conference Connie. T.G.I.F. it's the weekend's eve everyone

Good Friday morning! A whopping 6 degrees F this morning. Oof...
Hubby was going to take a shower this morning, but his darned blood pressure keeps dropping when he stands up and he gets dizzy. He did a bunch of blood pumping exercises, stood up and it dropped another 10 points. He is really frustrated. We have another visit from his PT this morning. He's hoping to get downstairs again today.

GOod morning everyone.
Draclvr, we bought John a shower seat so that he could bathe. It straddles the side of the tub and you can just slide over it into the tub itself. Worked like a charm.
It's another cold and beautiful day. I went to Pilates this morning but may go for a walk, too. Then a quick tidy up and some gaming.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
