We got a shower seat too. We have a large step-in shower, so no tub to step over. He mostly stood up, but sat down when he knee started getting wobbly!

I figured out it's one of his pain meds that makes his BP drop when he stands up. So, he's going to try to stop it and see what happens. It's kind of an addition to the main pain med, so we'll see. He also got off the prescription pain med and tried THC marijuana gummies. But they just didn't do it unless he took enough to make him goofy! With him being upstairs, it's not worth the risk with those steps right outside the bedroom door.

Yes, balancing pain meds can be tricky. Hopefully this won't go on for too long.

Draclvr hope hubby is doing better. I think I mentioned my sister's doctor said when her blood pressure drops it would help to eat some salted crackers...might ask hubby's doctor if that would be okay for a temporary help.

Good morning everyone!

A windy day over here but not as windy as the British Isles suffer. I hope you are ok over there and the worst has blown over by now.
Since health advice is given here I chime in and suggest that moderate amounts of coffee helps many situations.
But we all get enough coffee already, it seems. The daily WADDB for example. So sometimes coffee alone is not enough, unfortunately.
I'll provide some emergency use knäckebröd while we wait for the donuts. Not sure about any health effects of knäckebröd but it does alleviate hunger.

Good Saturday morning! Big Saturday morning breakfast delivered upstairs, ice machine refilled and now it's time for a cup or two of WADDB!

Gerry, salty crackers - or anything salty - is a good idea to help retain fluids and keep your BP up. But his drops are caused by medication and he is dizzy - NOT a good thing when you are already a huge fall risk!

He is going up and down the stairs well by himself now and spent a couple of hours reading in his recliner. Pain is still pretty bad - especially at night, but that's starting to ease up a bit too.

No rest for the weary! It's time to go out and feed the chickens and Wally the barn cat!

Good Sunday morning! Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich delivered and now it's time for a couple of cups of WADDB!

More temps above freezing with sun today. If we could only get them to stay above freezing at night, then this ice would finally go away!

There is grass showing in parts of the yard, so the birds are not going through QUITE as much Black Oil Sunflower seeds. They were eating me out of house and home when everything was covered.

Good morning Draclvr, Gerry, Fogfighter, Space Quest Fan and all who get the chance to pop in. Wonderful news about your husband being more ambulatory Draclvr...be careful with your chores outside! It's another sunny, cold day here. I'm off to do some shopping and then come home and put my feet up for the day.

Today marks two weeks since hubby's surgery. At this point, the pain is what is holding him back. He tried sitting in his recliner downstairs yesterday, but just couldn't find a position that didn't hurt. He had to stop taking the medication that was helping the main pain med work a little better because of the BP drops. He will see his surgeon on Wednesday and then on Friday will start his PT in earnest at the clinic.

Good Tuesday morning! What was it that Roseanne Rosannadanna said on Saturday Night Live? If it isn't one thing, it's another. The knee is starting to feel much better and he was downstairs all afternoon yesterday and ate some supper down here. Last night he started with all the symptoms of a bladder infection. He's been slamming water to keep his fluids up. I just sent something in to his doctor's office. I'm hoping they can call in an antibiotic prescription and I can go pick it up.

It's supposed to stay above freezing for the rest of the week and only dropping to around 32 degrees F at night, so maybe this ice will finally melt away. I'm so sick of navigating it!

Tootin Toosday morning everyone! I'm off to grocery shopping. Glad to hear husband is slowly on the mend Draclvr...PT will be hard initially, but it will be the best for the long run.
