-1 Celsius here. Mrs Sun is shining. Barely any snow but frost and icy spots here and there. Hang in there Lex. Spring is coming. Eventually. Meanwhile there are emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd in the break room. Just add hot water.

Ah, wide awake double dark brew and knäckebröd...marvelous. No walk this morning as it's raining...will go later today after it stops. Weather is normal winter cold in the day and dropping into the 20s at night. Stay warm everyone. Happy Hump Day 🐫

Good Wednesday morning! Well, after we watched the first responders begging people to stay off the roads because they couldn't keep up with the wrecks, my friend decided to reschedule her appointment for tomorrow. The interstate south of here is still closed and there were hundreds of people stranded there and on the side roads when truckers decided to try to go around. A friend sent me a picture of the end of his driveway out in the country about midnight with trucks lined up as far as you could see. They got almost a foot of snow down there.
I think we ended up with only about 5 inches of snow, but the bitter cold was another reason she decided to reschedule. If we would have had trouble, the temps were hovering around 6 degrees F. It was -2 degrees F last night.
Just put a load of laundry in to make sure the pipes didn't freeze up! We have to go out to the chicken house every 2 hours or the eggs freeze. In my hometown of Larchwood, Iowa the HIGH will be -2 degrees F today!
Good times.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning Everyone!
It's warming up here and Spring can't be too far around the corner.
A couple of months ago the double-wide on the small lot across the street from me was taken away and this morning the big equipment is over there filling a trash bin. Construction of the new house won't be too far behind. I keep hoping they'll cut down the enormous cedar hedge that blocks my light; it's at least 100 feet tall and at least 30 feet wide and I can't see how they can build without taking it down, so we'll see. Fingers crossed.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Friday morning! Still near zero degrees F here, but it's supposed to get a little warmer later today. Still LOTS of snow on the ground!
We had the neighbor kids - 9 and 6 - come over and shovel off the porch and the sidewalk. So Monroe and Otto walked over through the snow dragging their shovels and proceed to get to work. Of course, there was hot chocolate when they were done. Dave stuck a $20 bill in each of their pockets and they headed back home. I put Otto's in a snap pocket which would give it a better chance of making it home! When their mom asked if they were going to shovel off their sidewalk, the kids said, "Only if you've got $20!"
So, Barb and Drac's fabulous adventure yesterday was a success! She lives off a gravel road out in the country and the snow plow had piled up a small bank at the end of her driveway. I did have to put my little truck in 4-wheel drive to get in her driveway and up to the house because of course, she hadn't been out. But although all the country roads were snow covered and it was slow going, I was able to put it back in 2-wheel drive for the rest of the trip. We took the interstates because they were clear, so it took about an hour and a half each way. We had time to stop at a little Mexican restaurant and get something to eat before heading home. I refused anything for the gas, but she did give me two bottles of wine!

Good afternoon, everyone.
Not much happening here. Dude has decided that he's a lap cat all of a sudden, so we're having our daily sit...while Willow is asleep and not claiming the lap.
We're having a nasty storm so it's another day of gaming.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! Oh, my it might actually get above freezing today!
Connie, cold is cold, no matter the temperature! And if you don't have warm clothing, a good book someplace warm is the place to be!

Good morning all.
We had an 4.5 earthquake yesterday, up near Squamish on the Mainland. It was brief, and sent my jade plant walking across the table. No wonder Dude was acting so strange over the previous 24 hours, he was pacing and yowling and inconsolable. Willow never even woke up.
It's actually the very first time I've felt an earthquake. Normally people around me are reacting and I'm unable to feel it, and have no idea what's happening. About 25 years ago at work we had a small quake and my colleagues were all diving under their desks and I was standing in the hall going, "What?" I felt nothing. Weird.
More rain here, and now wind. After getting some paperwork out of the way, it's another good day for hibernating with my Steam Deck.

Good afternoon Hagatha, OldBroad, Draclvr, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry and everyone. Hagatha, glad you're safe, I've read about animals sensing earthquakes before they actually happen. Wow Connie, windchill in the 30s is definately cold for you!! OldBroad, I am thinking your coworker was probably the same guy I met who didn't wear seat belts because he was going to jump out of his car before an accident ( ). Draclvr, enjoy the above freezing temps today. My coldest temp was a -65 F (wind chill) while skiing in Colorado one winter...they closed the mountain that afternoon to keep folks safe. Fogfighter, I hope Mr. Sun comes back for a visit. Still refusing delivery of the Hong Kong Crud Gerry. Enjoying WADDB and bagels for lunch. Stay warm everyone
