Good Friday morning! Thanks for the emergency kits this morning, Fogfighter!
We DID have drama yesterday! On Wednesday we had another near record low barometric pressure go through here. All it brought with it for us was extreme wind. It was gusting to over 60 mph and I'm sure it was more than that out here on our hill. Yesterday afternoon we looked outside and noticed all the patio furniture on the pool deck was gone! The only thing we leave out there is the glass top table and the 4 chairs. I have a circular cover than hangs down to the deck to cover everything up. It was all in the pool! Now this is very heavy metal furniture! Dave was able to hook the 4 chairs with a hoe and get them over to the side and lift them out. The table was another story. I suggested he get the tractor, so we hooked the bottom supports of the table to a rope and he raised it up out of the water with the tractor bucket. Of course, the cover was tied to it and full of water, so we had to untie that so it could drain and he could lift it the rest of the way out. Nothing was damaged including the pool – at least as far as we could see. That had to be an epic gust of wind to move all that heavy furniture 10 feet and push it into the pool! Holy moly!

Good afternoon everyone. The WADDB, emergency kit and bagels have kept me going these past days. Glad nothing was damaged Draclvr...wind gusts and fast moving water can wreak havoc. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers OldBroad to settle your brother's affairs. Have a wonderful afternoon and evening everyone

Wow! That's some wind! Glad everything's okay, including you. I decided to do some actual cooking today, so I'm making a vegetable biryani, tandoori-style chicken, and roasted spicy cauliflower. Now I remember why I stopped cooking. I don't actually enjoy it any more!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

It's more the cleaning up that I hate. And of course an Indian meal uses a lot of different knives and cutting boards and bowls and pans. Anyway the biryani turned out well, even though I made it with brown rice. Now I have enough for about a week's worth of rice.
The big fat cat that's been plaguing my guys was outside today, rolling around on my patio in the sun. I went out to have a word with it and shoo it away and it responded by rubbing my legs enthusiastically and purring, plopping down onto my feet. It's a real sweetie, the sort of cat that you want to steal. Dude doesn't seem too perturbed by it, but Willow goes nuts when she sees it. Somehow it has decided that my house is part of its orbit. I think it might have been the cat I saw sitting with Dude a while back, so hopefully there won't be any fights. I think it's a female, anyway.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone. Weather is decent and here comes the emergency use knäckebröd. No cat drama here though I did see a black cat sneak around the other day. Happy Saturday GameBoomers

Good Saturday morning! Finally the winds has died down. My son borrowed my big garden tiller so he could tear up his front yard and reseed it last week. He brought it back last night and said that wind on Wednesday blew all his straw and grass seed to the next county!
Sun it out and supposed to get up into the 60's today, so we are going to put a couple of steaks on the grill tonight. We split a side of beef with my son and picked it up last week. When he tried to pick his up, it was the morning after the tornados and that area in our county had so much destruction, there was no power anywhere. He finally got theirs this week. We get this beef from a small family farmer with 5 little kids! It is so far superior to anything you can get at a grocery store, I hope I never have to go back to it.
Totally agree about the cooking clean-up, hagatha! I would like for everything to magically get cleaned up and put away while I eat!

Good morning Draclvr, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry, Hagatha and all who get the chance to pop in for WADDB, knäckebröd, Connie's treats and a chat. Woo hoo Drac, enjoy the warmer temps and grilling. I'll be grilling BBQ ribs this afternoon. Finished Saturday morning house chores this morning and then once I get the ribs cooking I'll finish the rest of Saturday chores this afternoon. I am thinking spring has finally sprung here with our last frost/freeze warning yesterday. Take care everyone and have a wonderful day.

Good morning, everyone.
It's a lovely morning, but apparently we're getting more rain this afternoon and through the weekend. I was hoping to gear up for a walk but obviously that's out. I think I'll spend some time organizing the linen closet, pull out all the towels that Willow shredded and decide what to do with them. Somehow I ended up with far more towels and sheets than I could ever use.
Oldbroad, I do cooking in stages, too, especially with the chopping of onions. It makes the cooking less onerous.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Oldbroad, the beef is taken to a processor where it is cut into steaks, roasts etc. and then frozen. We specify how we want it cut and packaged.
I'm making a hash brown casserole to go with the steaks tonight and I did just that! I chopped my onions ahead of time so I could go fold laundry!
Hagatha, we have several animal rescue facilities which LOVE to accept shredded towels. Don't know if you have a place like that near you.

Draclvr, that's a great idea. There's a cat rescue here in Nanoose. I should ask them if they want the towels.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Sunday morning! We had normal, pleasant thunderstorms last night! Got up at 1:30 to let Bella the Bloodhound inside... she is terrified of thunder. Maybe got an inch of much-needed rain. None of that tornadic weather provided any rain to speak of.
Hubby is feeling good enough to get Bella in to the vet for her annual exam/vaccinations this week. She is so huge she only fits in his big truck! Then I can get her in to the groomer for a much needed bath. All dogs must be UTD on vaccinations before going there. You haven't lived until you've smelled a Bloodhound! Stinky!

Good morning everyone.
Soot, I wish we could send you some of our rain. It's pretty gloomy and wet here today. My lawn is mostly moss.
Who doesn't love a new puppy or kitten?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
