Of course, it all depends on WHY some games were unplayable on your current laptop. This new laptop is a high end gamer, so it will play pretty much anything including dark side games.

What are the specs on your current laptop?

Yeah, if it's that old, it's probably pretty low end. You can find out some of the basics by right clicking on the white Windows icon in the lower left and selecting System. To see what your video is, go to the Task Manager (CTRL/ALT/DEL) and click on Performance in the tab selections.

This is what I could find. I think it just has a standard laptop video card.

These are pretty good specs for a computer that old. See what it says for video in the Task Manager. It's probably integrated with the Core i7 processor, but check anyway.

Yup, that the one! Your graphics are integrated in the CPU. It can definitely cause issues with newer games. Sometimes you can lower the graphics in a game or select a "plain" cursor and that will help.

But if the computer is 10 years old and you want to do any gaming, I'd say go for the new one!

If you get it, be sure to come back here for help setting it up because the first thing you will want to do in Windows 11 is get rid of One Drive which puts everything you might want on your local drive in the cloud. It's a huge PITA.

re: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4060 Laptop GPU (8 GB)

Good specs, a LOT better than mine, but if you can afford it, go with a Video card with at 16GB, because the way these modern games become greedy with Higher specs, you will find that the 8GB will be limited in very near future, already there a few adventure games, yes adventure games recommend more than 8GB.

Anyway, all the best and definitely pass it by Draclvr, She is the computer goddess in my books.

Depends on your budget, but I'd just stick with the 4060 GPU 8 GB for adventure gaming. I'm playing high end shooters and RPGs with a 2060 8 GB at the highest settings with no issues. And that 4060 clocks way higher than my 2060! To get a 16 GB dedicated GPU, you're going to have to spend some serious bucks.

I figured that, TLC. The video cards with 16 GB dedicated VRAM are reserved for the very high end computers. As I said, you will be fine with that video card for a very long time!
