1. I installed Syberia and shut down my PC. Rebooted and everything was okay. 2. I went into the menu and changed the color depth to 32 bit and rebooted again. 3. I played the game long enough to get Kate into her room and to read the letter. I saved the game and I rebooted one more time. No problems at all. Guess that setting the color depth to 32 bit fixed it. At least so far it's okay! Now I can play this wonderful game.
