OK - might as well get people really raring to go. I just got handed the review copy a few hours ago.

I have a question. In the options menu - I checked sub-titles, shadows (gotta have those!!)

Then I saw one for "Extra characters"!!

Alright - don't know what that means - but I checked it. So what does the extra characters option do?? It sure sounds cool to me. laugh

I thought the character option was something like that - well I hoped so anyway. smile What a great idea or feature to toss into the mix.

I love the sub-title option too. That is a big one on most adventure gamers feature lists.

Oh you know I will. laugh

I haven't been very far - didn't want to leave the chat for too long.

The install music alone really sets the tone. Very very creepy. BRRRRRR The music is another apsect that I am already imporessed with.

I am waiting for todays session with Philippe to end and also to get past the afternoon sun. It shines right in where my PC is through transoms at the top of the outer windows. Anything on the PC that is more shaded or darker toned is impossible to see. frown

So far, voices good, lots of ambiant folks moving around, sitting doing their thing. Movement is similar to Zork Nemises, but the turning isn;t wildly swinging and such. You can modify the mouse speed in the options menu too.

Music, wide ranging mix and excellent. Songs, orchestral tunes, bits of songs heard here and there as you go places. Ambiant sounds filter in from the street, around the newsroom and such. Haven't been very far - so that's about all I have noted without giving away spoilers.

Distinctive graphics. Have to play a bit more than two places to get a good look at them.

gatorlaw,
When do you think a review will be up at the site? In case your the one making the review, make sure to post lots of screenshots, to keep us busy until the game's out (or post them somewhere, so we can check out some of the scenarios).

You lucky ******* ... laugh

Your wish is easily granted Funktion smile

GB has screens shots up and available for browsing on this and other games.

Here's the Ripper shots: GB Jack The Ripper Screenshots

I am writing the review and by posting as I play (no spoilers) it is the outline for my review in a way.

One very interesting feature is that during a cut scene type moment, someone performing or a person speaking, you can move around, talk to others and whatever the action going on - it continues and your perspective shifts according to where you are in the locale. Really nice touch. Makes it all feel so real, which uhm can be pretty creepy in some places. thumbsup
