The fighting does take some getting used to. After you draw your sword, click on your enemy. When you get the round icon, strike once. Geralt will do the first round of whichever attack mode you're in. When you see the yellow flamey icon, strike again and he will do the second series. Repeat each time you see the yellow icon until the attack series is completed. Some of them have 4 rounds of chained attacks. I was used to doing all the hacking myself, so this was quite a change. But it really works quite well once you get the hang of it.

Draclvr, I installed the patch and played for almost 3 hours with no problem! The loading times are better, but still not real fast for me. Regardless, they're still fast enough I'm not freezing (yet). The real test will be when I make it to chapter 2 again and into Vizima. If the loading times stay consistent and don't start creeping up on the longer side I'll be okay. One question. How do you stay neutral? It doesn't seem to be that obvious when decisions have to be made one way or another. At least I didn't see the options clearly when I was in chapter 2 last time. Thanks, Marilyn

I think the final decision to stay truely neutral comes much later in the game. I was neutral, but did some battles for both sides earlier.
I am so glad to hear the game has improved for you. No freezes! Let's hope it continues!

Thanks Draclvr! I'll weigh my options and keep closer attention. I have a WT but I seem to check it to late after the fact. I get so lost with all the side quests that I don't know where I am half the time (just like real life) . Looney, I'm like you. I don't want both sides to hate me either and end up not being able to interact with one or the other...especially merchants .

Not to mention everyone on both sides attacking you! Did you get your wallpaper yet, looney?

Trail, I'm there with ya! I think I have new glitches too, and I like the way the game was running before I used the new patch! I want to do this before I get too far into this round... Have you played more than once? I'm on my second time...

But it really works quite well once you get the hang of it. Yeah, it used to work really great before, but now I'm in the swamp trying to kill those C-something that rises out of the ground. I click once...click twice...wait, nothing happens. I die. Reload. Try again, click frantically this time. Nothing happens. Reload again, and try...sometimes he attacks, sometimes he doesn't. Most of the time he's just standing there like a vegetable.
Are they dead? Yes. Unlike you they have but one life...and they wasted it for your sake!

Hey everybody, the game thread has about reached its page limit. With some folks playing again, and some starting, it's best that we start a new thread.
