Thanks so much for the info, Inferno. I have just tried to get the FRENCH demo to install again. However, it still comes up with the same message as before, something about access denied to C:/Windows/Downloaded Program Files/isusweb.dll/

After a quick search on the internet using google, I've found that isusweb is some sort of help program to Install Shield Wizard. Maybe only computers with French operating system can install this demo? Or should I update my Install Shield?

Anyway, I've found the English demo for The Awakened - so I'm going to play this one instead. I also went into a music & game store today and saw that in my country (Denmark) "Sherlock Holmes versus Arsene Lupin" is out now smile It's the UK version we get here in Denmark.

Thanks to Dannyboy for installing the demo for the Arsene Lupin game on his computer

edit:

I just found this info on how to avoid motion sickness when playing the
game(s):

http://www.sherlockholmes-thegame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=440

Please look at the last post smile on page 1

edit 2:

I just downloaded the french demo from gamershell. It worked.
I only got to play a little since my French is a little rusty but I can tell you
that this game has potential smile

Hello,
there is not going to be a demo of Sh4 for the US version for now and for a good reason. We are now preparing a technology allowing to switch from 1st person to 3rd personat anytime in the game. If you know the 1st person (and some players complain about it some loves it), in 3rd person the controls will be as classical point and click with fixed and moving cameras.
Once the "Deluxe" version of SH4 will be ready, demo will be released and game will follow shortly. we hope this technology will help to end the long debate over 2D or 3D, 1st or 3rd person as you will have all-in-one and you will play the way you want.
However this is a lot of work and we need time to complete our process, testing is beginning soon for finalization of the technology, for SH3 and then for SH4. Sh5 is made from scratch with this technology.
For now, if some players feel bad about the controls, we can only advise to decrease movement sensibility in the options.
if you have any questions, we are always around of course.

Fantastic! That's great that Frogwares is responding to gamers' comments and will be giving them this kind of flexibility. thumbsup

I wish I'd known this improved version was coming. I'm having a lot of problems with motion sickness in the museum in Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin. Motion sickness always seems to be worse in enclosed spaces, especially when you have to look close at things along the way (like the paintings).

I'm impressed that you're actually doing something about the motion sickness problem though.

People who got the game online from our site will be able to download it in its full version for free Jenny100, it was planned like this from the very beginning of our "improvement".

Sherlock 5 is about Jack the Ripper, so it will be another atmosphere than the game with Lupin smile.

Thank you, Wael. Your ideas are indeed inovative and will do much for the gaming community. Much success for Sherlock Holmes vs. Arsene Lupin and all episodes in the future.

Jack the Ripper? Thanks for letting us know.

Hmmmm.

Mystery of the Mummy
Silver Earring
The Awakened
Arsene Lupin
Jack the Ripper

I'm seeing a "dark atmosphere" game, which is then followed by a game with a lighter, more colorful atmosphere and a more comic tone. Then dark again....

I'm glad to hear about the new technology. I don't as a rule have motion sickness problems, but every now and again a game makes me sick for a bit.

If this works smoothly, it will be wonderful. thanks

I think maybe this poster means he or she does not have the time to play this game right now.

Anywho, more om topic, though:

I have played bits of the demo with the mouse at the second lowest level for mouse sensitivity - I was fine with this.

Thanks for the review inferno- I can see why people are liking it. I just finished the game- Enjoyed it- really had me thinking bravo.
My only problem and a big one which might have me not buying the next one was the fact- I could not get it to urn on my machine- for over 3 weeks working with Glitches(the Best) and Frogs own support team- we could not figure out why.(and I have decent specs) Even on the Vista I borrowed to play this game the mouse did not like certain areas-- the storeroom area for one. BUT- I pursued and I am very glad I did. Great game to play.

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody
