We all did lots of levels over NYLady. Hang tight and there will be a new version with no timer. Some places were very persnickety on clicking in the perfect spot. It'll be better when you can relax and do it.

SadiRose, there is a walkthrough here that has the steps.

Well... not sure if that was the problem because I had the game open, closed it, came on here read in one of the threads what my problem was, tried to open the game and it said it couldn't open because it was already open. I went to task manager and sure enough it was open... but I did close it once in the game and one on the Big Fish thingie.

So I closed it in task manager, reopened it and found the new suspect but couldn't click on anything. I tried the shoe, the blood stain nothing would work so I had to just watch the clock ticking away. A message said I'd have to complete the level again.

Now I just opened it again and it takes me back to 2:45 backstage where I put the colored thingies on the light. So it didn't start me back to the beginning afterall.

Is there something else I have to do backstage? I only have 2 minutes left. I already found everything, I did the white/black game and I put the red light on the lamp (nothing) I put the blue one up and got the name of a street.

Are you using the magnifying lens on all those spots of the suspect, NY lady?

There are hints???

If they remove the timer do we have to rebuy the game?

Use the lens on those area of the suspect and then click - so that you can gather evidence from the suspect. Just clicking alone won't do.

OK - I am officially brain dead! I DO NOT get the deduction board. How do you match people up with places and evidence? By clicking on middle guy in right column and cement factory I was able to get one green line lit (far right line). It was random and I have no idea what I did. Should I try and keep that - it disappears if I click on anyone else....Carol

rotfl Sorry to laugh NYLady, but yes, you get 3 hints.

YOu will not need to buy the game again. Other games have been revamped and you can just re download.

minooka, Big spoiler here: Here is a completed board. You can see by the highlighted pictures which are clicked on.

Where are the hints? I clicked on the "?" and it just gives directions.

I'm going to wait for the revamp this isn't fun with that clock ticking.

Mag thanks so much for the walkthrough I know I really appreciate it!! I finally completed the whole level number five and have moved on to level six. I can't tell you how excited I was to beat a computer on making squares and finally finish that sewing puzzle game. Oh well onto newer and more frustrating adventures with this game.

Thanks again for the walkthrough mag and all the help you and browneyedtiger have given me.

Kem

NYLady, There is a number 3 in the bottom right above the inventory. Clicking on that gives you a hint. It will then say 2...1...depending on how many you use.

Kem, glad you are enjoying it. yay

sadirose, The secret cabinet is not in the box. The secret cabinet will open when you get the headresses right. Look at the picture on the dresser to be sure you have them correct.

Have you looked at the walkthrough photo? All items to find have a large red X on them. I believe the hair is the one on the uniform sleeve.

Lk9, Here is one solution of what it should look like. Just keep pulling on them to untangle and see if they are better served as outer strings or inner strings.

Minooka,
The walkthrough is finished - see if the deduction explanation helps you.
Click on an item from the suspect and see if it matched an item in the evidence frame by clicking on a similar item. For example: ashes with ashes, green cloth with green cloth or ribbon with ribbon or hair with hair. This way you then know who owns those evidence.

LK,
It really is not trial and error; watch the tangled strings and move it to where there is a space. Study the placement of the strings. luck

I think you're the best Tigre! I have followed the thread from the beginning, and it helped me finish the game FINALLY.

One thing that helped me on Level 4(?) was to pause the game during the puzzles. During the final game in this level(making squares) the computer can sneak in squares and you lose easily. By pausing the game after every move you can take your time finding where the computer placed a line.
I'm playing it again and still have trouble with the awful thread game!

welcome to GameBoomers niteowl. I'm glad you were able to finish and happy to hear the thread helped you along.

Thanks for the tips! I paused the game during the matching game to see the different wall plaques. It saved a lot of time.

I am still totally stuck on the stupid safe puzzle in the office. The walkthu seems perfectly detailed & clear but I keep getting stuck on step 4. Column 2 only wants to go down 1 time rather than 2 & I think that's where I get messed up.

sadi, try resetting the puzzle and trying again. Many have used MaG's steps and it worked okay.

Thanks so much for the picture, Ana, but I'm afraid it still is no help - told you I was brain dead! If I click on the 2 boxes that I can see highlighted in your picture, I lose my one and only green line. I do not understand the "mechanics" of this deduction board. I tried following Mags instructions with no success either. Do you click on a person and then click on all the rooms? Or do you have to click on the clock or knife as well? I only have about 5 minutes left on the clock so I know I'll have to do this level over but it is sooooo frustrating when you don't have a clue as to what you're doing....Carol

I DID IT - I DID IT!! Don't ask me how but I did! I will not replay until Frogwares comes out with the fix for trashing the clock - they emailed me this morning and said they're working on it. Thanks to all who have been such a marvelous help...Carol
