Lilkim, you should download the first upper one (just click on the link and save it on your computer), after this launch it and it will be automatically installed, Then you can click on the patch file, it will be unzipped, copy the appeared 001 folder into the game installation folder, by default c:\Program Files\The Mystery of the Persian Carpet, and CONTINUE PLAYING, GOOD LUCK!!!

Hello, Okay I did not notice that it was there sorry. I went and extracted it and then I opened 001 file in the games files and then clicked on it so should not that have worked cuz I checked the game and it is not working. I read about copying the inside folder but when I right click on the file it does not show anywhere on the list to copy it has extract to specified folder or just extract or view to open the folder and when I opened the folder it has en pak and game .pak which one of those do I need to use. I am sorry but I am terrible at using win zip programs and I know it is so easy for some Thanks Trisha

Tammy, did you look at Mag's instructions? There are two folders marked 001 and you have to get the extracted file into the correct one. Downloaded the patch.
Unzipped or extract the rar-compressed folder.
Open the folder. Took or copy the inside folder labeled 001 out of the outer 001 folder. - Careful - there is an outer 001 and inner 001 folder. Use the inner one.
Opened the ......\Sherlock Holmes - The Mystery of the Persian Carpet folder.
Pasted the inside 001 folder in that Persian carpet folder.
Played the game.
There are now 2 possible ways for you to go through:
1. If you select New Game - you automatically get a choice of timed or untimed when you click New GAme.
2. If you open an old game.
- See the Main Menu.
- You will see OPTIONS. Select Options on the right side.
- Then Select Play untimed. Accept or Back.
- Then back on the Main Menu, select Resume.
- Select a place to go to in the map and you will see that the timer is set at 00:00.
- Play a bit and then exit as usual.

I just emailed Frogware - do not understand first post & do not have ral or whatever - clicked on the link & there were billions of things saying "download me" so I got very confused indeed.
Just read the last post - does that mean if I redownload from BFG I keep my saves & get the patch ????
EDIT Trying it now & its not working.
Can someone help a useless blonde, please ?

Jenny....I got my game from BFG. I didn't understand how to download the patch myself---so I just uninstalled the game and then re-installed it from my account and in the options--I chose untimed.(BFG has already installed the patch). Hope this helped.
