I think I am at Level 4. I have checked out Edward Aston with the magnifying lens. It looks as if I have found all the items; however the magnifying glass is still present. I went to Scotland Yard and found the items on Vincent Gordon. That magnifying glass is now gone. I want to read the report on Lord Lindon, but it is not available to me. The first three reports (Flatham, Pitticot, and Thomas) are green checked. The next image is still a black silhouette. The Richmand Street hideout is not on my map yet either. I must have missed a step, but I don't know which one. Please advise.

edit: Please ignore my above post. I have managed to move on.

Patsy, have you seen the step by step in MaG's walkthrough?

Quote:
The victim and suspect already have a green line connection. The victim and the time of death and knife also have a green line connection.

1. Click on Richmond Alley hideout at bottom right area. Click on the knife and then click on the knife at center of the frame.

The knife in Richmond Alley hideout connects to the knife that is the murder weapon.

2. Click on the top footprint in Richmond Alley evidences and then click on the footprint of the victim at top of the screen.

The top footprint in Richmond Alley hideout matches to the footprint of Vincent the victim.

3. Open Lord Layton on the suspects at left area. Click on the expensive cigar and then click on the cigar ash at evidences of Richmond Alley hideout.

The cigar ash found behind the screen in Richmond Alley hideout matches the expensive cigar of Lord Layton.

4. Click on opera paper of Lord Layton as suspect and then click on the clock at center of the screen.

The opera paper of Lord Layton connects to the clock (time of death).

In the store room, I have the trap door open and found the mask, but can't find the hair

Even with MaG's excellent walkthru and graphics with "X marks the spot", I can't find the [blip] hair

this game is so frustrating ... can you help me?

It is at the top right edge of the trap door opening - close to the shelving.

Dear L4L,

I don't know what my problem was. I finally got frustrated enough to start again from the beginning. Whatever I did wrong the first time, I didn't do or miss the second time. I am now on level 5 playing "squares" with the computer.

Thanks for your interest.

I think Ana posted a link to a more direct solution to this puzzle. Let me look for it.

This is Margie's solution. Click here.

I am on Level 6 and have all the items I should have except the one you get after the picture puzzle. I have assembled the lamp, have taken the book and the lamp is shining on the bookcase. However, when I click on the bookcase nothing happens- no pictures appear where I can find the differences. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong??

Thanks! think

Hi Donna, you need to click the book on the puzzle piece in the inventory box.

I'm still struggling with the string puzzle. Sent a message to Frogware this morning, but haven't heard back from them. Hope they can help me on this one, or it's game over.
