Hi MaG, Yes, I filled the empty bottle with acetic acid at the beginning and did one click of it and the distilled water (H2O). May be I need to refill it again?

Did you dump the wrong mixture on the sink? -------------- Arlene, You do not have thumbtacks in your inventory. I wonder if you did not do the circle puzzle and just entered the letters. That could be a problem. Maybe best to repeat that puzzle and redo the circle and the opening of the box.

MaG, I dumped the mixture in the sink every time before making the new one. It looks like a dead end to me. The only thing left to ask you for the saved game please.

I must be the only one with this problem. I can't get the lights on in the developing room.
I tried MaG's walkthru solution, and then I tried every possible combination of the two fuse box wires - - all 36 of them!
What am I missing?

MaG, hi!
Yes. For all 36 combinations, I turned the switch off, placed the wires, and then turned the switch back on.
Numbering the slots 1-9, L to R, top to bottom, I found that slot 1 controls the kitchen, slot 4 controls the foyer and lab, and slot 5 controls the hospital ward. From your walkthru, I inferred that slot 2 should control the developing room, but no go - - not for any of the 36 combinations. Frustrating . . .

The first time through (blood types), I just played around until I found a combination that would light the ward and the lab. I stumbled onto slots 4 and 5 to do that. When I later checked your wt, I saw that you had used those same slots.
When I couldn't light the developing room, I checked back with your wt and saw that you used either 2 and 4 or 2 and 5. Neither worked for me, and that's why I systematically tried all the combinations, none of which worked.
You and others who are ahead of me apparently didn't have this problem, so it can't be a bug. I hate the thought of it, but I'm afraid I need to reinstall and start over. Sigh . . .

Ron, What I did was take off all the broken fuses. Place them on the bottom row and the right column. So now I have only 4 places (just holes) to work on. I then used the copper wire on 2 of those holes (since the broken fuses are gone). Then played with it to see where those slots-holes are connected. Then did #4 and #5. Later I took 4 or 5 and placed it in #2. See if you still have a broken fuse somewhere on the top rows that might be messing it up. Springchicken, I played your saved game. I took a paper, placed it on the enlarger and flipped the switch. Then I developed it using your solution. Counted off the time and got a good picture. The first solution made it dark because it showed the picture. The second solution stopped the process (still a bit dark). And the last fixed it. Hang it and there's a good picture. You did it right. No problem.

Mag, I have the 4 broken fuses placed where you indicated - - slots 6, 7, 8, and 9. You say that leaves "4 places to work on," but aren't there 5 (slots 1-5)?
I tried all combinations with slots 1-5 without moving the broken fuses, and still nothing. It sounds as though slot 2 is the one that controls the developing room. But not for me.

Sorry. I can't count in my old age. Maybe you need to trigger this part first - do you have Janos' letter from Ojana's counter yet? That is the reason I looked for something to solve that puzzle and eventually did the developing room.

MaG, I'm still in the dark room. I did everything exactly as you are saying, counted in the first tray 12 sec. and got the picture, put in the second solution, counted 7 sec. and he sad that 'it's good for a trash'.

Mag, yes, I have Janos' letter, the one with the microdot. However, I'm starting to wonder whether there is something else that must come first. For example, my "Objectives" tell me to find the gypsy woman, but she doesn't seem to be around.
Seems like the configuration of the fuse box ought to be independent of preceding events, but one never knows . . .
I was rolling merrily along and, until I ran into this problem, didn't peek at your wt. Now I'm thinking that I should go through it with some care to see whether there might be some triggering task that I haven't yet done.
Either that or use the bomb that I detached from the bedroom door, attach it to the fuse box, and move on to another game.

ronrob, Hahahahaha. No - hold off on that bomb. Did you check if the gypsy woman is at the Oak tree crossroad? Do you want me to check your saved game? Springchicken, Your saved game is sent back to you. Arlene, I just counted of 1, 2, 3, 4... Picked the enlarged paper and moved to the next tray. I really didn't do anything different. It was continuous movement. Send me that saved game and I'll check.

MaG, I got the saved game, put it back, continue to play. Thank you so much for rescuing me. P.S. I'm curious about your new avatar, is it a chakra wheel?

Mag, thanks for the tip on the gypsy. I actually went up there but walked right past her.
The baffling thing is that I don't even get a cursor that allows me to walk into the developing room. I know it's dark, but that doesn't stop me from moving through other dark rooms.
Thanks for the offer to check my saved game. I'll fiddle with things for a while and take you up on the offer just minutes before I go out of my mind.
