lilkim, the colors you need to paint it will come up when you solve a puzzle. If you didn't get it yet, you aren't ready for it. Ana

Thanks for the help with the quilt. The colors do get lighter when they're correct. I did notice that when I changed some squares that they lightened up, but I didn't grasp the fact that it was because they were correctly positioned. GBs to the rescue again. I finished the game and feel kinda sad because I really enjoyed it very much. I hope that "First Story" means more stories to come. I think that this kind of game is my very favorite since I enjoyed Mortimer Becket so much too.

I agree fil. Hoping more of these types of games are in the works. I won't even have to be led astray because I'll be first in line.

China/Russia ummm, this is weird? I found everything, including the scroll, but have a magic sword, golden feather, and unicorn horn left in inventory. I can't find a place to use them in either location. What am I missing? Thx in advance!!! ummm, OOPS!! I just went on to the next screen and decided to play, regardless of the other stuff. Nevamind

deb in buffalo: I posted a hint for the number puzzle in another thread. We have several hint threads going for this game. I'll repeat the info here for you.
Basically, the object of the game is to divide the circle into quarters with the ring segment in each quarter equaling the same number. While figuring out the easiest way to solve this one, I kept losing my chain of numbers while turning the rings. I wanted to start with the single number at the center and work outward, but since the outer ring doesn't move I kept losing track of my chain of numbers while turning the inner rings. I found it helpful to jot down the chains and then move the rings.
For example, if the inner circle number you choose is 35 your notes might look like this:
1st ring: 35 2nd ring: 7+5+8+15 3rd ring: 4+8+7+10+2+4 4th ring: 2+2+7+9+3+6+4+2
It sure helps in spinning the rings if you don't have to keep adding the numbers again. Sometimes the other sections don't add up, so you have to look for one ring that doesn't match and find a different chain of numbers for that ring.
Hope this helps get you unstuck.

Did it from the out side ring. The ring next to it is the sum of the two numbers it covers. Then just work your way in.

Hi guys, I'm at the very beginning of the game--very cute, but I have done the shield puzzle (picture of girl in safari hat) several times. It looks right to me and I've traced lines etc to be sure but nothing happens--I sit there as time runs out--and then I have to try again. What am I missing? Edit: I got it! I found the answer in an old thread the 2nd time I searched--the pieces lock in place when correct so I started at the outside and worked in and that did it

Brown-Eyed, Sorry I didn't answer your question. Yes, you're right about the puzzle I was referring to. The good new is that, after reading thru this post again, and reading the directions again, I realized I was doing it wrong. I finished the puzzle yesterday, so now I'm happy and proud of myself Sooo, I'm ready for the next one
