I'm having a horrible trouble getting the number right on the second level how do you do it. I looked through walkthroughs and it is as clear as mud. Thanks

I've + the numbers to the number on the floor and also try to X them but no luck. I guess I will just give up on this game.

Tell me what the numbers are on the panel and also on the floor.
Then save while in close up because if you pull back, the game will change the number if you pull back out the puzzle.
Then we can go step by step on those number.

The bottom number is six

Left column on panel is 13 (3 dots and 2 bars)
Right column on panel is 10 (2 bars).

1. We do the right column first:
10 + 6 from the floor = 16
2. Left column stays the same 13.

3. So enter on the middle square of the panel:
Left column (13) = 3 dots and 2 bars.
Right column (16) = 1 dot and 3 bars.

Calculate:
Right column: 24 +2 = 26
Left column: 12 + 1 = 13

Using the base 20 of the aliens - one carry over to left column:
Right column: 6 (less the 20 that is carried over)
Left column: 13 + 1 = 14

Enter on the pnael:
Right square: 1 dot and 1 bar
Left square: 2 bars and 4 dots

Since you can't put four bars do you carry it over to the left column?

No, that is not the reason.

We use a base 10 in our calculations. When we add our columns we always carry over anything that is over 10 as 1 to the left column.
These aliens use base 20. So anything over 20 gets carried to the left column.
That is why there are no 4 bars. The aliens don't use them in a column.

I tried to put what you stated and it is still red.

Double check that the dots and bars you posted are still the same on the panel.
They reset whenever you pull back.

Right column: 18 + 2 = 20
Left column: 10 +1 = 11

Enter on middle square:
Right column - zero

Well I'm almost gone but when I tried to get the 3rd Selenite
it will not call me back I have put
- Press buttons 3, 5, 13, and 12.
- Press buttons 3, 5, 13, 12 and 12.
- Press buttons 3, 5, 13, 12, 12, and 13.
- Press buttons 3, 5, 13, 12, 12, 13, and 5.
- Press buttons 3, 5, 13, 12, 12, 13, 5, and 3.

My walkthrough states that it is 6 instead of 5 in your solution.
Try 6 and see what happens.
