There IS a demo available if anyone wants to try before buy! I downloaded the demo from Alawar a week ago! Just google to find the page. Sadly I can't say anything about the game because I am playing Mushroom and Veronica right now and never got to the demo but you know I am going to try to play it today. Linda
So many games, so little time.

I hadn't noticed till you said that Linda. Odd that they would not give you a demo. I do know that those that played previously really enjoyed it so I think it's a keeper anyways. Ana

Yes, the demo is on Alawar's site here. I think BFG doesn't offer demos for games that are over 100mb. Which IMHO is understandable for larger casual games.

Are my eyes and mind sharp enough to escape Mystery Island? That promo is certainly TRUE! It's another Mortimer Beckett style game and I'm still recovering from Magic Encyclopedia. Nevertheless I bought it on the spot this morning as soon as I finished my first cup of coffee.
I love the little trailers that BFG is putting on their games now. It's so much more informative than the screen shots. I didn't even need to try a demo because I recognized the format just from the trailer. This game is a sure-fire winner which makes 3 in a row for BFG in the interactive/HOG/locked objects/travel all over the world and run yourself to death back and forth between scenes genre. I've only played for an hour so far but I love it already.
I'm in a quandary - actually a BAAG emergency. I just bought ND Haunting of Castle Malloy last night. I was ready to download it and start the adventure when my e-mail arrived with Escape from Mystery Island as the Club special for the day. The BAAG disease flared immediately: "Must have game, must play game, forget laundry, forget sinkful of dirty dishes, forget vet appointment, forget work tonight, play game now, play game now." Should I go to the emergency room for some shock therapy or just give in to the overwhelming desire to play this new game?

Awwww ScarletD, just give in and play it (Except for the vet, take a break for that) Yes, the demo is on Alawar's site here. I think BFG doesn't offer demos for games that are over 100mb. Which IMHO is understandable for larger casual games. I may be mistaken, but I thought the only games that BFG does not do demos on are the Large File games--which are full adventure games. I see them occasionally listed in with Casual games Edit again: I'm confused. Am I looking at the wrong game? There is a demo on BFG for this. Maybe they were late in getting the demo up????

I have never bought a game before without playing a demo. This time I did. Just to let those of you who have not played the demo...there is no timer, no penalty for excessive clicking, and the hints regenerate quickly. I think it's a winner. Joan Thank you, Joan! I was unsure about buying without a demo but your description makes it sound like something I would enjoy. It is so reassuring to read what my friends on GB have to say about the games before I try them.
Prices are going up everywhere except in our incomes.

Tammy, did you reboot after the uninstall and before the reinstall?

Ahhhh JennyP, I hope you get this straightened out ASAP. Edit:I just went to see if I could download and noticed that the game is "greyed out." I think there is a problem and BFG is on it. Looks like we will have to be patient

It definitely said, "no demo" this morning. Possibly they changed their minds over at BFG. But I don't care for it so far. It's no Mortimer Beckett in MHO. Will play out the demo before I decide though. Linda Yup, BFG changed it later today to play a free hour now.
