You do not have to kill any dogs, nor do you have to do the contract to kill the dogs (or use dog tallow). If you want to do the quest, you can find dog tallow in barrels, cabinets, etc. and at some merchants. You don't have to do any of those extra quests in the game. It doesn't have anything to do with getting that body. You'll just have to let the game progress - when you have that quest highlighted, where does it say to go on the mini-map? Who have you talked to? Talk to all the main folks.

Sherrayh- Don't feel too bad, I could not kill the dogs either, so I let that one go. Nickie is right about finding dog tallow. Good Luck maggie

I've never done the dog tallow quest for that reason, Sheeryah! It doesn't affect the game at all.

I know the feeling Sherryah! I kept having a dog block the stairs up from the Inn, and it was growling at me. Still couldn't kill it, and just moved away, and it would leave. You would have laughed if you saw how much I had Geralt running away from wolves so I didn't have to kill them, even though they were trying to eat him!

Oh Nickie, for sharing that. I just assumed you had done that quest. I am proud of all the Boomers that refused to do that quest for doggie lovers everywhere. I send a big hug out to you! I got in the graveyard like you said and saw someone special's corpse I won't name. One question it was past midnight by the time I was suppose to go and do the autopsy and the graveyard attendant didn't say he would be taking over the body even though I told him I saw the body. Will without the dialogue tree of graveyard attendent taking the body to the hospital still allow me to do an autopsy on the body? Is it ok to continue the autopsy quest the next day at midnight? Shani told me to meet her at her house and night but all she did was talk about the party. I had to reload a save game because if you break the quest of autopsy to go and party first, you lose the autopsy quest. Who is the most fun and interesting to bring to Shani's party? I am thinking of Carman but she charges 100 orens instead of being grateful for Geralts attention she looks on it like a job. I am insulted on behalf of Geralt for this. When I face Raymond without doing the Autopsy quest he says dialogue about let him think it over, because I lied and told him I had messed up the autopsy, but I fail the autopsy quest. So again I learned my lesson and went back to a save game. I need all the experience points I can get. Thanks in advance for your answers Sherryah

Sherryah, you don't have a specific time period to get that autopsy done. I went several days before getting it done.
Eventually, I talked to the gravedigger and told him to deliver the body to the hospital. Once he does that, you can go to the hospital to meet Shani there. Once again, you don't have to do it immediately, at least I didn't.
You also don't have to do it on the stroke of midnight. I did it at 1 or 1:30 in the morning.
I know I gave the gravedigger gifts of alcohol several times. I don't know if that is the trigger though.
I took Zoltan to the party. I wonder who all you could take?

I think Carmen is probably the most fun to take to the party!

I can't remember for sure, but I think Leuvaarden, the merchant shows up in the Inn at some point. He's a bit, fat guy in a gold robe. If not, you may have to either carry them around for a bit or store them with the Innkeeper until you encounter a merchant who will buy them.

You can also take Siegfried to the party, if you haven't made him mad by siding with the Squirrels. Siegfried shows his thoughtful, melancholoy side once he's had a few. It's worth taking him to the party just to see him giving Shani longing looks.

Hmmm.... Since I'm forcing myself to side with the Order this time, I may just have to give Siegfried a try at the party!

Wonder what's in store ?? Never actually found anyone who HAS sided with them Does that mean we all have subversive tendencies? I'm sure somebody, somewhere, must have sided with the Order. I was going to in my third game but couldn't bring myself to do it.

Hi Draclvr I had posted earlier in this thread that I had never found anyone who had played on the side of The Order - then maggie57 came along and said she had - so now "one is found" Cheers. Mad

I'm really TRYING to be nice, but it's hard! The Order is so self-righteous.....

I use OTS because I want to be closer to the action. I rely on my Witcher medallion to warn me of danger.
I love that they give you the option in this game to play whatever view works best for each player.
