Yes if its any help, I am in the UK and I see prices in pounds sterling, not euros, so they obviously recognise location.

I'm glad to have Adventure Shop as an option, but it pays to shop around. I just recieved Syberia 1 and 2 from Dave, $9.95. Checked the price at Adventure Shop: $29.95. By the way, there is no game produced in the past 5 years that even comes close to the Syberia series... even better in replay!!

macmac, as stated in the first post, please and thank you.

Please keep in mind that this is a thread for any questions you may have about utilizing the Adventure Shop for downloads and it is not a thread to discuss download vs. boxed preferences etcetera. I believe we have covered those opinions quite extensively in the past and the bottom line is, please choose the method of purchase that makes you happy. GameBoomers is only providing the opportunity to give you choices.

thanks Becky for your concern.

My computer is just 1 yr. old so My specs were not the problem.
The problem was they wanted you to download a download manager, which I did. That didn't work. They gave me three different options to try and I tried them all, so when they didn't work I ask for my money back.

They were nice enought to refund my money.
After three days of doing what they said and I still couldn't download it I gave it up, but after that I already had several new games I had bought and hadn't played, well I tried to install them and I couldn't get it to install anything on a disc.
So I had to restore my computer back to it's factory image.
Thank goodness that worked because if it hadn't of, I would have had some one to come out and fix it. bravo

Are you sure that it is TAS that you got the game from and not another online store.

I didn't have a download manager when I last used the site.

I went to the one on this web site because this is the only place I trust.
I clicked on the logo on your heading.

I have bought from InteractCD Store before and I always had good response from them.

So, yes I'm very sure. Like I said I clicked on the ad on your heading and I emailed the guy that posted from there on this web sit. I can't remember his name, but I read his post 2 days ago and it was the same guy.
I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything, I just wanted you to know what happened to me.
Like I said they gladly refunded my money, but I will not use this place again.
Ps.
Mag I sent you an email from them just now to your email address so you can read it and let me know what you think thanks

Amlamb,

We apologize for this issue, and we would like to get further info about the problem you encountered with the download manager.
Could you share with Mag all the details including your account info at the AdventureShop.
We will investigate and sort it out. I do not feel confortable when even few of our customers can not download and install games.

Thank you

I guess this giveaway also applies for the gameboomers members in Europe? (Scandinavia? I'm asking because Denmark at least have a law that states that you must answer a question correctly in order to get, win, the prize...)

I have been looking at the adventure shop lately. Couldn't you buy/download Culpa Innata at one time? Or did I see it at InteractCD?

This is open to all Karsten. I am certain the rules for winning do not apply here as this is a private giveaway to members only and not the general public.

Ok...Boomers...My two cents in...

I am so happy for the opportunity to get a download respectfully that Game Boomers is advertising...

Also I might add....A year ago I had nothing to play & a lot of sites were offering downloads for the game Cleopatra which I paid a higher price...BUT I didn't care cause I was bored & needed a fix real fast lol

Just wanted to say ...Its a pleasure now I don't have to wander around looking for sites...Plus now we have such great Tech help if something goes wrong...

You can't ask for nothing more then that... thumbsup

Becky and Ana,

I have to apologize as I posted an answer to Gimli in the wrong thread.

Gimli,

Adventure game is a genre unfortunately poorly represented in some countries. This is mostly due to the fact that retailers only allow a very limited shelf space to million $ budget games.

The Adventure Shop has been created with one main idea, to offer a wide range of adventure games to any and all players all around the world. The adventure shop is accesible from Vladivostok to Ushuaia ...
As a consequence you can get your games from anywhere (Denmark, Switzerland, US, Canada, Italy, etc...).

We appreciate your taking the time to answer and give the members the personal touch.
Your aim of boosting adventure games genre is much applauded.

I deleted the post you did on the other thread - no worries.
You have somethings to give me?

I want to let all GameBoomers know that Damon at the The Adventure Shop had emailed me and tried to make things right about the problem I had with my download.
We came to the conclusion that I shouldn't download large gb games because I have dial-up.
He offered to help me with another game, but I respectfully refused because the only game I want is Darkness Within.
I thought out of fairness to this company I should post this. thumbsup

I have an account on both the EU and US site of Adventure Shop.

I'm a little puzzled - isn't the cost of each game the same & equivalent to whatever the present exchange rate is in each currency? I.e. If I bought the game in dollars rather than UK pounds wouldn't I ultimately be spending the same or do the games cost more for European buyers?

Actually, if you find a game that cost 19 Euro on the EU site, then most of the time it cost $19 on the US site too, so no.. the cost is not the same smile
Several online download companies does the same for some reason.

Hmm, this thread reminds me to email their support - I can't access my accounts, they don't recognize my email adress and/or password....

Thanks misslilo, I've just looked up current exchange rates so I can see that you would be paying more if you paid in euros or UK pounds rather than dollars. But, isn't TAS US based? & wouldn't a download to somewhere outside the US count as an export & therefore have to include a tax - I know I have to pay tax to download from Big Fish Games.

I'm sorry you can't access your accounts at the moment but I wonder whether you need to be paying in the currency relevant to your location which takes into account any tax? I hope you get it sorted out & please post back! smile

Damon,

I'd like to thank you very much for your post and answer to my question (I too posted in the wrong thread....).

I'am looking forward to download games from Adventure Shop!
