You can turn the "holes" to make them reach a pipe--but you are right, you won't use all the pipes. You just need to use enough of them to get flowers in all the holes.

Finished the game this evening.
I found it enjoyable.

Another winner from BGF! I loved the game and finished it. Thanks for letting me know things change when it is replayed. I usually never replay a game unless it does change. It is so much fun watching the construction of the boat. I also finished and really enjoyed the Nick Chase and highly recommend that game also Widget. I have to admit I did skip the flower and root puzzle didn't understand it in Robinson Crusoe. After the explanation now I think I will go back and replay that puzzle.
