Hi geezy,
I remember this section of the game, and I also thought that I had a glitch while stuck in the dark room, because it does seem as though the cursor isn't moving - but it is, it's just impossible to tell because you're in pitch black. Slowly turn and move around the room, keep searching for a hand cursor to appear, and then click on it. It might take a while to find it. Check your inventory and you'll see that a match and box of matches have been added.
I don't have any saves for this game, unfortunately. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

geezy, It's been a long while since I played this game but, if I'm remembering correctly, your cursor isn't frozen - you just can't see it because it's so dark. In a bedroom did you pick up matches? Check your inventory. If not, then move your mouse slowly around the cell until you get a hand cursor. There may be an area that's not quite so black - move your mouse around that area. Click the hand cursor and then check your inventory. You should see a single match and a box of matches. After that, follow the walkthrough. Good luck. Jema Hi Rushes - you beat me to it.

Can you e-mail me your last saved game, geezy? I'll reinstall my game and see if I can work out what the problem might be.
The room is actually only a small cupboard, so you won't be able to move anywhere as such, just to spin around on one spot.

Thank you re sending you a saved game but, would you believe it, I can't find any. I have a saves folder in the Microids folder that contains all the game info but it's empty!! I've searched through all my files and folders and can't find anything. I'm now totally fed up and think all I can do is abandon the game. I'll have another go to see if I can get anywhere but I'm not hopeful. Thanks for all your suggestions. Geezy

Sometimes the saves are kept separately, have you checked to see if there is a folder in My Documents? Edit: That's great! What did you do differently? So glad you got through.
