In the Polish version you put in your inventory for instance: kamień, łopata, kawał mięsa, kijek, dynia, magiczna mapa. Well, there you are !!!! And having put that little lot into my inventory who knows what I might do with any of it

I'm playing Lost Crown right now and I must say it is shaping up to be a splendid game and could certainly be climbing onto my list of ones that "jumped out at me" very shortly [I have to admit though that I'm definitely not blown away by the voice acting or the way the characters walk ]

chrissie, you're in for some fun - I'm playing Puppeteer right now and having a great time with it. A few timed puzzles, but nothing as evil as the chair-hop-shuffle in AOM 1, thank goodness! No "game over" moments (so far) yet, either.

Yes...The Puppeteer is really creepy...The music makes it creepier... This is another game I am taking it real slow...I don't want it to end... I love the interface..Very creepy game..

I hope the 'no game over' moments continue! Well, I spoke too soon. I just had a "Game Over". Time to put my thinking cap on and work my way out of this mess.

My favorite game is Culpa Innata, which only came out a couple of years ago. I can't wait for Culpa 2. I really love the philosophical questions going on in the game. My other very strong favorites include The Longest Journey, The Gabriel Knight series and Grim Fandango. I have a preference for story based games.

I Still have fond memories of "Scratches".
Women's Murder Club: A Darker Shade of Grey is one I've been curious about. Anyone? Please discuss WMC: A Darker shade of Grey Here. It is a casual game. Ana

I'm so glad this topic was brought up. I had posted a question just recently because I got a new computer and now can play newer games and was looking for games to play. This post has given me lots of good ideas for games to play - and not play. I think I am of the same mind as Venus. I like story based games and The Longest Journey was one of my favorites. Can anyone tell me if Dreamfall is worth playing? Sometimes sequels aren't up to snuff.

Joan, there was lots of divided opinions on Dreamfall. I liked the game a lot, but did have to get used to the controls. I discovered I had better control if the avatar walked as opposed to run. There are many older threads about Dreamfall. Here is a link for you.

Joan, I enjoyed Dreamfall quite a bit, even though I normally don't like combat and sneaking at all. Luckily, it was on the easy side, so I was able to get through it. The controls reminded me of Grim Fandango, but with a camera that pans when you change directions.
The story is very good, though it does leave you hanging at the end.

I will check that link for Dreamfall. I had heard that it was not totally mouse-driven. That may turn me off. Also, I have never downloaded a game. My son has recommended a site called Steam. Has anyone heard of it and is it reliable?

You can buy Dreamfall at Amazon, if you would prefer the boxed version. I've never used Steam, so hopefully someone else here will know about it. I think you can also get it at The Adventure Shop. But, yes, you do have to use the keyboard to control your characters.

Joan -- there is a way to play with the mouse only most of the time, though I found it awkward, and it didn't seem to work during combat, which was a pain in the neck. You also can play with “mouse look” and keyboard. Or you can use a gamepad, if you're used to that. I've never used Steam, but it has a reputation for being reliable.

Hi. I too haven't played any Adventure games recently that I really enjoyed. I just finished Everlight. I loved the graphics, enjoyed the characters, had a few laughs but really didn't care for the game. I think part of it might have been the AM, PM thing and I don't think I really got into the story. I'm not sure how long it took me to play, days would go by without playing it. However I wanted to finish, that was my goal. Goal met, time to move on to another one. I hope I enjoy the next one. Take care, Terri
