Well, I have finished Fallout 3. I did all the secondary quests and then some. There are places I never got to but things began to seem the same. And there were no other great weapons to get after I got the Alien Blaster and I had all the caps and ammo and meds anyone could desire. So I returned to the main quest and finished.

What a great game Fallout 3 is. It is easily on my top 5 list of nonadventure games.

I am not sure what I will play now. I may play Oblivion since it does seem to work on my new computer. I did love Morrowind so maybe I will like Oblivion also despite some of the negative stuff I have read about it.

Thank you all for your help. Now that I am back on Gameboomers, I will check in often to see what is going on. Kay

Well, today I decided to do a format and install XP Pro.
Just had to see if Fallout 3 would install then, and it did! laugh

So now I've been playing for a few hours and have just come to Moiratys place. Cool game smile

Hi Kay
Whoa you finished! I'm still dinking around, I put off going to the Tenpenny towers so I'm going to go there soon. I need to have a word to someone about a key (or not!) I haven't been to Oasis yet. I've done so much but I still have a lot to do. I have a feeling I'll be done with the side quests all of a sudden as I have most of a bunch of them done. This game is so huge.

I played oblivion as throughly as I'm playing fallout. It took me awhile to relax and ignore the drawbacks (most of the below ground sites are the same)but once I did and focused on my charactors improvement I really really liked the game and joined all the factions and guilds and sought out all the unique experiences.

Nipomo, I found Ten Penny Towers to be an interesting place that sent me off on a couple more side quests. Do it. I think you will have fun. Kay

Is there another place to store my excess stuff other than the house at Megaton where creatures won't steal it? Just might blow up Megaton as I'm very mad at it. Doubt I can do the bomb thing because I've messed up and Simm's dead - 2 times. It's Burke's fault.

Yankee, I haven't played this but according to a response to this question by ExarRazor on the Gamespot forum

I don't know if his information is correct though wave

Before I got my house, I stored my stuff in the lockers at the Common House. I even dropped some stuff on the floor at Moira's for a test and it stayed there.

I believe you can talk to Lucas Sims' son to get the key after you disarm the bomb.

Decided to go back and redo the Simms Burke scene and be quicker on the trigger. It would be fun to Blow up Megaton though - wonder what will happen to the game then. Love to hack those terminals, am stuck on one at Greyditch. Just started this game and playing on normal but sometimes have to go to very essy if it's too hard for me. Thanks you 2 for the help - will use the Common House lockers.

I decided not to tell Sims after I tried that and he got killed. You will lose the house if you blow up Megaton and it is handy to have to rest, store loot and you can decorate it. I believe Moira will move to another location.

You need to disarm the bomb. Talk to Sheriff Sims. Burke wants you to blow it up. You need an explosive skill of 25 to disarm the bomb. Mentats will help raise the skill.

Sorry for double posting, but I have a question and am afraid no one sees it frown
If I was wrong, then please merge it...

I need to know how I'll get access to Tenpenny Tower, if I refused to set the bomb off and now have assasins after me??

Missilo, don't worry. You will have no trouble getting into Tenpenny Tower. The assassins didn't bother me since I was glad to get their weapons and armor.

Do I need to fight my way in? Do I get the Penthouse? Will they talk to me there? LOL laugh

No fight. You just walk up to the door and look for an intercom on the wall. They will talk to you but you don't get the penthouse since you took the place at Megaton.

I took the house in Megaton(I have a tough time playing evil and settled for watching the bomb explosion on U-tube). When I finally visited Tenpenny Towers I was happy with my choice as the music and "suburbian" quality of the towers creeped me out a little bit.

What do the folks here that choose the Tenpenny Towers think...do you like it as a place to come home to??

I take it you can't have 2 homes - gosh darn, I should have blown up Mgton after all. That Craterside Supply - she has such an icky voice and she looks like that too. Something about this game I can't bond to, maybe I'm still having Oblivion withdrawel. Or perhaps it's because I like fantasy and Fallout isn't real fantasy. I mean it could come crashing down on us one day. Can you imagine surviving? And all I worry about is Social Security. P.S. I'm not going to do anymore research for her book because she's asked me to get injured so she can take notes or maybe experiment? I don't trust her.

I read somewhere, that even if you disarm the bomb, but still agreed to set it off after talking with Burk- then after all the quests are done in megaton, you can just go ahead and blow the town apart laugh

Today I actually just received the Official Strategy Guide and man it's HUGE!
465 pages with details of every ince of the game crazy

I highly suggest that on your second time through the game you try the "not so good" path as a number of other quests open up to you, but you have to promise to go back and visit the spot where Megaton was and tell us your reaction... cool

Actually, Moira's quests are kind of a "basic training" for Fallout. They serve to toughen you up, get you some basic gear and cash and give you an idea what you may be facing.

My game's on PS and I know I could save the last game and start a new game and blow up. What do you do - light the bomb and run fast or does it go on a timer. If I do this I don't think I'll tell Burke when and blow him up too. HAHA. I should rescue that 2-headed Brahma though. Is it true there's an Oblivion 5 in the making. If so: Joy Unspeakable! Compared to Star Wars games this is not too exciting. Misslilo, I envy you and that guide - fantastic.
