Been awhile since I checked the boards here and saw this. I was psyched until I saw the article only mentions Playstation? Will it not be released as a PC game first?! Syberia hooked me on adventure games and remains my favorite.

I'd love to see a Syberia 3. I really liked the first two games.
I would buy it. I sent a support message to Microids at:
supporToSyberia3PS3@microids.com which I got from the link on Paola's message above.

The last Press release from them was this one. There has been nothing added since then I am afraid.

The latest news might be THIS ARTICLE posted by Danyboy at Mystery Manor explaining what the company, Anuman, plans to do with the Microid Titles in 2010 as it bought out the Microids Label.

Its not the happiest news, at least for me, when they talk about game players wanting to be able to take their time playing an adventure game so they are moving towards episodic adventures. I for one think their thinking is exactly the opposite. I can take my time playing a full game rather than waiting months for the next episode that may never come. What do you think?

THanks Greyfuss!

I actually like the episodic adventures but my gametime is limited so I like the smaller spurts of gaming.

I am not holding much hope out for a true Syberia 3 game to be produced. It does not sound like a Benoit game it sounds more like a franchise and using the name only without the feel. I hope I am wrong.

I like the idea of Syberia 3 and Dracula 4 in episodes/chapters as well! Very good new indeed!

There appears to be a lot of ambition and energy here. Can we assume that the new episodes will all be released in English, do you think?

I enjoyed the only game(s) I've played that I think of as truly episodic, the Valhalla Classics, but GreyFuss' point is well taken, IMO, since I was never able to get all of them and only made it about a third of the way through the little prince's journey because of that. (I'm hoping that's going to change since reading what Mr. Bill had to say about it.) And I'm with GreyFuss, too, in preferring full games even if I have to play them in spurts and starts.

Unfortunately, if Benoit Sokal isn't going to be making Syberia 3, I have a feeling that Ana's fears are well-founded. I guess we'll see.

I'm not at all keen on "episodes by download" even for another Syberia.

I prefer to buy a whole game - and on a disk, too yes

They may *say* they're doing it for the players, but I suspect they're really doing it because they have to. They probably don't have the funds to finish all those games they're working on without getting some of their investment back partway through.

sorry , i'm with Greyfuss here - give me the whole game all at once ,and on disc - i pay for it all at once , and can play it the way i want.

i understand that we always try to be encouraging to new teams , companies, and developers - but it seems to me that those people who play 1 game at a time would lose out with a system like this - you get spare time, play to the end , and then wait ?

no thanks !

Hmm, I think an episode is better than nothing...a glass half full and all that jazz.

To love is to be happy with!

I really still prefer to have the entire game in one package, call me old school.

Although I did download the first episode of Adams Venture which was a bit short and I'm still waiting on episode 2, so I have tried the episode thing but I'm still waiting on episode 2. So if Microids does that, it's not going to be my choice to go with their episodes. I'll just wait and see how it all comes out.

Guess I'll put my 2 cents in. I also prefer a full size game, on a disc, to chapters, especially if the chapters are only downloadable.

I remember reading somewhere (Perhaps here) that Adventure Gamers tend to be avid readers. If that's the case I always consider these 'episodic games' to be like paperback fantasy trilogies. Sometimes they never get to the third book and the reader never finds out what might happen. I too want the entire game on a disk. I will spend (And have spent) what it takes, but I want a game in my hand to play or replay when and as I choose.

I would love to see Syberia 3 come out on DVD in stores where I can buy it and play it whenever I wish.

I really enjoyed Syberia 1 & 2. I would prefer buying the cd or dvd rather than downloading the game.

I totally agree with Greyfuss & Mad. I want to buy a full game, with disc in my hot little hands period. I have all my games filed in alphabetical order on my shelf, & replay them often. I like the fact that there at my fingertips whenever I want them.
