Well, actually being a member means that every month one is paying in advance for a game that will be ordered later. Since I buy a lot more than one game a month this isn't a big deal to me, except when it comes to keeping track of my credit card charges and I am one who checks out everything. I like to make sure my credit card company hasn't made a mistake, or someone else used my card, or whatever. There have been some instances in the past where problems have cropped up (nothing to do with Big Fish Games, I hasten to add) so it isn't just paranoid thinking on my part, okay? No matter, I'm a member and will most definitely stay a member, especially since the games keep getting better all the time in my estimation!

No big deal I just wanted to know If could cancel anytime. You don't know until you try. I've been with BF for a number of years now and I will stay with them. What ever reason why I can't cancel ,maybe it's my pc.

Thanks BFG-Guy for making the BFG experience more accessible to more people. I love BFG and love my membership. If it got to the point I couldn't afford to have it taken out every month, at least I could still buy a game when I could at $6.99. I don't think clicking a button to cancel if I need to is a bother, I do plenty of clicking in a game lol

I love my membership and the perks I have gotten there. I couldn't afford a bunch of games this last promotion, but I will be getting a mousepad. And my Felix watching down on me as I play. No one else has ever given me treats like this just for buying the games I already want and buy. Plus $6.99 a game is like getting three games to what I have paid for a $20.00 game and tax at the store. I have fallen in love with match-3 and HOG's and haven gotten several adventure games there.

My games are still $6.99, BFG has wonderful promotions and gifts for me, and help for games at the pond. I have no complaints. I think it is great more people get to save money in this economy. Right now for me it has been the only way I could afford games right now.

Thanks BFG-Guy! bravo

Wow.. I'm seeing this all for the first time. I think some are over reacting... probably people who hate change. Well, nothing is going change at all for most of us. I'm a member, have been since Moby Dick was a minnow and I'll continue to be a member... therefore I wont have to quit and rejoin.

I can't wait to see what the perks will be. I think Big Fish Games is the best thing that ever happened and I trust them completely.

You never have to worry about messing up anywhere because their customer service is so wonderful. Just relax and enjoy your games.

I plan on keeping my Game Club membership until my dying breath (unless abject poverty intervenes).

thanks SierraMindy, I have been a member for 3 years and always chose the Jumbo pack membership, because I buy many games a month.

Yet in truth I have never understood why my credit card was getting hit each month. I buy credits and I just figured each time I bought a credit I was paying for a game. The way you explained it I think I now understand it better. yes

I don't know if I will continue paying in advance after my credits are gone, because the jumbo pack is no longer necessary. I am grateful for the low price even if I choose not to have my credit card hit in advance. I will always consider myself a BFG Member, because I am here to stay. bravo

It is nice of BFG Guy to make it easier for people of all incomes to purchase games and not be locked into a set amount to purchase for a lower price. catrub

It is also a smart business move for BFG Guy because it will increase his profits because people will find it easier to purchase rather than to be locked in to a set number of purchases for a better price. thumbsup

You are not, nor ever will be paying in advance. You are buying a game credit. You can use that credit immediately, give it away, or bank it for a later day. Paying in advance makes it appear that you are out money and have nothing to show for it. That is incorrect.

I'd been away for a few days, got the BFG letter this morning, misunderstood it as a permanent, unconditional price drop on all games to $6.99 and ordered the new Flux Family Secrets. I was then surprised to find I'd joined the Club with my next VISA withdrawal occuring a month from now. Initially, I felt like I'd been pulled into one of those Book-Of-The-Month memberships, which I don't like or want.

HOWEVER, having said that, this thread has been helpful and the receipt from BFG makes it clear membership can be cancelled anytime before June 16 (in my case) without another charge being made. Cancelation is just a click away.

I feel better now. As has been said, the few games I've bought from BFG have made me a fan of the site, both in terms of game choices and their support. So, I'll ride with this for a bit and see what develops from the company.

This thread also makes me glad I joined GB. As always, discussion has been illuminating and helpful. Thank you..

Hi Robertson, welcome

Be not afraid. Big Fish Games is the most honest company out there and you'll never ever be cheated. You can take ANY concerns you might have to them and they will fix it with satisfaction guaranteed.

If you play a lot of games you can really benefit from staying a member. They do take $6.99 each month but in its place is a game credit... if you don't use it now, you can use it anytime.
It's not like you are getting ripped off or anything.

I can honestly say that my monthly game credit has never gotten dusty sitting in the reserve.... I always find a good use for it. I've been a member since 2005 and was skeptical at first so joined for the 7.99 thinking I'd never find a game a month I liked... very soon after I joined the 6.99 one and usually buy more credits each month than my one.

You will love being a member of Big Fish Games, and they give us perks from time to time. If you read some of the other threads here you will see a lot of happy Big Fish members.

I think the only time I would use the cancel button is if I travel for longer than a month or two. (I wish!)

I buy extra credits every month and they get charged to my credit card at that time, not when I use them. However, I also pay the total amount on my card each month, so I don't end up paying any interest on those credits. Those interest charges can really add up, especially if the person doesn't understand how they work.
I like the bigger amount on my credit card as it is easier for me to figure where the money went when it comes time to pay. And I do check out very thoroughly every purchase on my card. One small $6.99 amount is fine, but 5 or 6 would drive me batty which is why I opt for buying the extras. I've been a member for 16 months and bought 100 games in that time, you do the math.

I have just finished (took an hour or more) reading all of the comments that various people have made about this subject. I for one (been a member for almost two years) will not change the way I interact with the site because $6.99 is a cheap way to get enjoyment from gaming. I also do the adventure games as well. I just don't understand what all the furor is about. You're either a member and have a monthly fee taken from your bank account or you don't. If you don't wish to pay, sign up for individual games and pay for them. BFG has always been more than fair with me, if I have a problem. Don't know what more you can ask of a company who is in business to make a profit and keep its customers happy!!!!

Members will not have a problem, it's the newbies who might not realize just what they are getting into. As a one time newbie myself, I can remember being very cautious about what I was signing up for and didn't fully understand it at the time. I had no experience with casual portals so it was a total first for me. I wasn't sure when I signed up for the 12 month deal whether it would actually take 12 months or if by buying several games in one month that would shorten the time period as all games would apply to the commitment. I soon enough found out that extra games didn't count and I was committed for a full year, which worried me a little, but that was before I was hooked, of course. Once that happened I was a completely happy camper all the way. And still am.
But now the newbie doesn't have that choice that I had and that is what bothers me. I don't consider buying and needing to cancel a membership I knew nothing about as being quite fair. I worry about what if I buy something somewhere and at the same time I'm joining something, whatever. Could this be some new trend? Or is a newbie given some instructions about what to do that I didn't see as a member of good standing. (I am, right?)

sierra, you are incorrect. YOu never needed to stay for a year. You only needed to satisfy the purchase of 12 credits and your obligation was over. Everything is clarified on BigFish websites and they have excellent customer service. When in doubt send them an email.

As I stated before, we are all adults and it is not their responsiblity to be sure we read all that they provided. They are not a fly by night company and always try and make things right. It has been proven time and time again.

There are no new details to report here, so why don't we give it a rest. There is no point on going over it again.
