I have no idea, but Hamlet fits most of the first clue too well: "Godless dwelling for pastry monarch" dwelling= hamlet pastry monarch= Danish king.

Well done shany - and a hamlet has no churches (hence godless). To explain my other obscure clues, ham was noah's son and rent is to let, so rearanged you get hamlet. And a quiet ruminant was a silent lamb, made by Jonathon Demme - cut of his head and you get Emme, the developer of Hamlet. You can probably guess cryptics aren't my strong point
