Chris,
Here's the error message, sorry it's blurry.
Program compatibility assistant
After the umteenth time, I finally got past that part,
now I'm stuck @ the final puzzle.
Keep getting turned around trying to get back to Ferucil. crazy
Actually I now show 5 prisms & canes in my inventory...LOL

I can tell you each time I complete a task and head into a film short,
my screen goes light grey w/a white square @ top left
and a twirling "o".
really weird.

BTW~I'm running Win Vista 32 Bit.

Hi kat,

It sounds like your computer is mixing a Windows component (OCX file) that is causing that freezing, the multiple inventory items, and possibly the white square, as well.

The next time that error message pops up, click on the arrow next to "show details" and take a screenshot, so that I can see which file is missing.

The missing file is supposed to be installed with Windows, so there's a chance if it's missing that it could affect other games/programs, as well.

Hi linda,

You have to click the left and right buttons on the safe in a certain order to unlock it. There is a document somewhere in the detective's office that hints at the order. Good luck! smile

I've solved the first 5 puzzles and have the 5 shards, but Im just awful with slider puzzles. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get the office slider shard?

Edit: sorry, I didnt mean to "hijack" this thread; I'm just not sure how to go about asking a question without starting a new thread...

kat, here are the directions you originally took from Ferucil to get the cane, so reverse these and hopefully you'll get there:

From Ferucil you walked forward, turned right, then forward, then left, then forward, then turned around and up the stairs to be in the area with the panel.

macmac, this is a sneaky slider puzzle which isn't really meant to be solved (although it can be if you're insane enough, according to the companion guide!). You'll see that there's a tiny little button on the right of the puzzle box. Click on that to open the box. Gaah!

Chris, I wish you would consider making the "Companion" as a download... I would be more than happy to pay for it. My problem is that Im at a military address and connot recieve books, etc--only letter mail. I appreciate your helping us through this forum.

Macmac, I typically don't start selling digital downloads of guides until the game has been out for at least a year or two...however, send me an e-mail and we can work something out. smile

Hi lumi, welcome to GameBoomers.

For the Fuzzies, you need to think "initially". wink

To open the chest in Count, you need to make a note of the text that was at the bottom of the rune puzzle, that will help you.

luck

Just a quickie: do the movies need to be played in a certain order? I ask because some entries in this forum indicate that sometimes an object required in one movie is found in another movie.

macmac, the films can be played in any order. There is a possible glitch in Fuzzieville, though, with missing an item and being unable to return to that area later. Be sure to search the garden thoroughly and take all you can there, you'll be needing a critical item from it at some point!

lumi, good luck, let us know if you still have problems.

Have you seen the puzzle you must solve to pass this point?

Look up to see a message above the door. Then look down and turn right to face the puzzle.

luck

A big "thank you" to Chris, developer of "Filmmaker" who has provided so much assistance via this forum-- He also personally assisted me in obtaining the "companion" as I could not go through normal channels because of my location. Thanks!!

All you need to do is walk forward toward the monster very quickly. You'll climb up it's arm and into its mouth!
