Crouch down next to a pillar, wait for the machine to strike it, press '1' to give him strength, crawl out, stand up, turn round and face the machine, hopefully the hand icon should appear, press Enter and H will destroy the machine. There are 5 machines. When he's dealt with them, he turns back to Jekyll and a bridge appears to the middle of the area. Cross to the new altar, take the page. Go back out of the room to the previous altar and place the new page to get to the next part of the game.

Well done. Yes, i managed to get across to the far wall, where the lava starts rising and kills him. I think I can see a cave above but never managed it so far!
The saves are good, but they're only temporary arent they, if you leave the game, you have to start right back at the beginning.

Robbo,
You do not need to go to the cave. A little further on you will get a real save. There are three saves in this lava section. I used alt-tab so I could leave and not have to start over again. It took me 5 days to get through all of the lava. I am now at the end where there is more jumping and I am going nowhere. If I don't get it soon I think I will give up.

Mmm, OK, well I wish I could reach that save point! Bet I was going in the wrong direction then.
Anyway, apparently theres a couple more puzzles to get through, something to do with Big Ben clock tower I think. I did read a review which said the ending was rubbish, but I don't care now, I'd just like to actually finish so I can decide for myself!

You can make a copy of SAVE points (alt-tab out then use Explorer),
C:\Users\yourusername\My Documents\J&H
Theres an 'ini' file and 2 further sub folders with the actual save data in them.

Robbo,
I followed your instructions, got the hand icon, pressed "Enter".. . And heard H say "This cannot Be'.. and then the monster killed me. Pressing "1" didn't do anything, (he's already Hyde). What did I do wrong?? Thanks so much for your help.

Gamil, well OK, maybe it should be '2' or whatever is available to make him stronger, I can't remember offhand.

O.K. I have managed to hit the correct keys and activate one sword to the down position...this in the area right after the Medussa statue...when I continue on even though I hit/kick the monster and run over to the closest sword it is at no symbol comes up for me to activate the sword...can't figure out how I did it once but can't accomplish this again...do I need to do anything with the implements behind Hyde that actually turn the swords around? There is a hand symbol to do this. I tried that but it didn't seem to help me...I need some help and direction please. Thank you once again.

Try to avoid the situation where you let it turn those machines round, that might be why the icon isnt coming up, because the knife machine handle is turned away from you.
So the procedure for me was to stand at one of the gaps in the barriers, let it fire at you, the shield should deflect the charge back at the creature, and it will shrivel up, then recover and whiz across the other side of the pond, should be under a blade for you to dash round and operate that machine and strike the creature.

Thanks again...I didn't realize the machines were being turned around until I went back into the game and looked closer...will try your suggestion to stand at one of the gaps...wow this game is something else. Don't know when I''ve had to do so much jumping, running, crouching and dying! Wow, made it past this area. Managed to get to next save afte the lava path...am in a room with what looks like flaming skulls and a puzzle. Fooled around with it but can't get any definite idea on how it works. I imagine my goal is to put out the flames...can anyone give me some direction please. Thank you.

Well done getting past that thing, some of these puzzles are really tough.
Ah, this next one drove me mad, LOL!
The console, you have to hit a certain pattern I think, but I don't yet know what it is. I just messed around for ages clicking different combinations until eventually it clicked. Yes, the fires on the wall copy the patterns on the console, you have to climb up the unlit jets onto the top area.
Theres a whole set of tunnels leading to puzzle rooms around here.
Did you get to see the big door with the claws?
Each puzzle solved releases a claw until eventually you can go through the door.

Yes, saw the claws! I couldn't get up the jets so I moved on...went past all kinds of blades. Used the potion as Hyde to slow them down. Finally reached an area with a monster who had a gem for one eye. Took that...went all the way back through the blades again...ended up meeting up with arch enemy then continued on my way.. Reached an area then Jekyll says the heat is overwhelming (or something to that nature) must find a way to beat the heat..he sees a path but has to do something about the unbearable heat. ...I saw one claw remove itself from the door. This was when I found the eye that is a gem...really confused where to go from here...help please! In the jet area, I believe I did the puzzle correctly (just keep playing around with it) because I could't access it anymore. No hand icon there any longer. But the jets still have fire running through them. I tried to use the number pads ie..the eye to slow things down but still fire in the jets. So how do I climb up to the top with fire still there? I tried several times but keep getting killed. So I need some help on how to do this if I have to go back and attempt this again....help! I went back into the game and entered the hot area again. Mixed a new potion for cooling effect. However I can't figure out where to jump exactly...I jump on to a floating rock to start out but don't know where to go from there. Also need to know if I manage to do this area what about the first puzzle I did with the fire jets. I have missed climbing up these so can I move on or not? Thank you for all help.

You are playing as Hyde in these areas, aren't you?
The flame wall/skulls - press the number key/s to make him stronger, I climbed up the left hand side and jumped left onto a stone bit. Tried to play it to remind myself but I cant get the puzzle console solved yet.
Just before that room theres a 'Flying Flames' room. Fireballs shoot along a passage. Hyde has to crouch/stand/jump gaps to reach a gem. Not too bad this one if u take ur time.
Theres the fire maze, wait for the flames to subside then dash through part. Difficult to map this with everything going on, but you have to make your way to the right of the maze first, then towards the top left to get the gem.
If you switch bridges, theres a rotating blades room. He can slow them down, but any contact with them kills him. Matter of waiting for clear paths through.

OK, i did the fire/skulls wall thing.
Be Hyde, approach from the front so the camera changes to a closer view. Aim for the 2nd column, when the flames are about to go out, press 1,2,3, climb up the second column, climb left onto the sticking out rock, then jump left onto the stairs.
Sounds easy doesn't it?
(still cant figure out what triggers the console to be 'solved')

Fire Maze:
Be Hyde. press 1,2,3. Down stairs, then left, go right, first left, then right, a lot lefts then rights (sorry, it goes too fast to map it) Keep waiting for the flames to stop before you proceed into each area. Roughly through the centre of the maze towards the left wall, then u come out at the top left, then go right along the back wall to the big room = Red gem. Make your way out again, It saved for me when I reached the stairs.

Fireballs:
Be Hyde. crouch and crawl. When you reach the gaps in the floor, stop, press 1,2,3 (especially 3 as it slows the action). Stand, jump gaps, crouch again. Turn left. Theres 2 flights of stairs. Careful near top as theres fireballs shooting in the other direction. So crouch, crawl forward and right to get Yellow gem. Opposite to get out.

Rotating blades:
Again, use 1,2. Press 3 when you can see a route through a set of blades. If you dash fast enough you can get through in one go by changing direction slightly. Over the jumps, again use 3, get Purple gem. Go all the way back.

I reached this area yesterday. Found the plants and made a new formula-cooling. I just can't figure out where to go...he says there is a path but I sure don't see it. I have tried jumping on the rock formation floating by but once on that don't know what to do. Keep dying in the lava pool...I am still not finished in some of the other areas ie. skulls on wall so going back in the game to attempt this again. I don't see how staying in the new area with the lava flow will get me back to where I need to do all of the puzzles. However I will end up back here after confronting the guy who approaches Jekyll for the Tomes book. So need some help on what to do. Thanks again..

The lava bit, I can't think what stops you doing this before you've done the 'cave' puzzles and got the gems.
Anyway, be Hyde, you need the cooling potion, you said you have that. Jump on the moving block, when close to disappearing down the flow, press '4' to take the potion and you should come out the other end OK. Jump on rock, I think you take potion here again - onto moving block, back onto land and up to a new area - broken lift. Up stairs, do switch on wall, enter doorway, (SAVE) you are back at console you visited before. Use console, take bridge to big door, place book, door opens to dragon-in-pool puzzle.

I have done the skulls, fire maze and swinging spears room. Got 3 gems. After leaving swinging spear area automatically met with villan. Bridge auto swung around. Now I have to go down to the hot area where I make a new potion. If I get thru this area how do I go back to do the fire ball puzzle and get another gem? Help please. Thank you.

Mm, I'll have to go back over it. The fireball bit is next to the skulls part, where you jump over the lave block to reach it. Something to do with a console probably, and swing bridges.

I made it thru the very hot area by using my new cooling potion. Found new area and opened doorway...saw lift that doesn't work...checked around and used all the consoles I could find. Exploered each area via brdiges. Ended up at the doorway with the claws that need to be removed to get thru. The other areas don't seem to take me to any place new. I can only get back to the areas I already visited ie:swinging spear room and the hot area where I used the new cooling potion. I just don't khow where to go from here...I know I missed one puzzle...the fire balls...is this the problem and if so how do I get back to it without going into a saved game further back. I really don't want to have to do all the puzzles I accomplished again. Thanks.

Well, I'm getting confused now as to where you can and cant go.
Are you near/can you get to, a console near an open/closed doorway. Its the door you come out of after the broken lift area. When you activate it, theres a bridge swings in directly opposite the console and leads (past another console) to the 'turret'-type area where theres steps up one side and steps down exactly opposite the other. Up, across, then down those steps, along the tunnel to the place where u have to jump onto a block (above lava) and jump again to the next bit of tunnel. If you go straight ahead, you'll reach the skulls/flames room, but just before it, up the screen is another tunnel leading to the fireballs. Phew, see if u can follow this!
