NiteOwl, I'm with you on Mysterious Island 2. I really liked 1 and thought 2 would be a lot of fun. After running around gathering and running around gathering and searching, etc. I finally said to myself, "This isn't fun! I don't have to do this." And that is where I ended the game for me. After I gathered (not again) the hair I'd pulled out off the floor, I deleted the game. Keepsake is a game I really liked. Then I got to doing something else and never got back to it. It's on my someday list. Dreamfall is also deleted and a maybe sometime or maybe never. I found TLJ to be rather boring until the very last part, so I'm just not interested in DF right now.

Hi everyone. I love this topic because I tend to think I'm the "only one" who ever does stuff like this and it's great to know that I'm really NOT. lol For me the games I either gave up on, became bored with, or threw out the window (not literally) were: Riven---I wanted SO much to like this game because I loved Myst so much, but I found this one sort of boring and didn't care much about what was going on. Culpa Innata---This game had really beautiful graphics and potential, but for me the meshing of old style buildings combined with very new/futuristic outfits and gadgets just felt odd. I would've preferred a game that was really set centuries ago with old clothing and not TOO much dialog! Pretty much any CSI game---I LOVE the show CSI and am always excited when I get one of these games because it's fun to see the people I've come to love and hear their real voices. But, for some reason, trying to do the actual forensics is never as fun as I think it's going to be, and I've always ended up bored and never finishing any of them. Also, I'm so glad that Homer mentioned his choices because they are also two of mine, along with Physicus and Bio-something. (I've even forgotten the name of that one! How sad is that?) I never liked science in school, but I figured as an adult maybe those three games would spark my interest. Unfortunately I just found them sort of odd and repetitive, plus some things were impossible for me to figure out and I'd have to get in and out of the game to find a walkthrough constantly. Also, Schizm was pretty and interesting looking, but I felt like I had no idea why my character was there or what to do next, so it was like wandering around in a pretty painting but being completely unfamiliar with the customs of the people living in it. Anyway, this is a neat discussion and I want to say thanks for letting me add my own two cents! Tracy

Oh, dear. I hate to admit how many times this has happened to me. However, I must say I'm shocked SHOCKED at the thrashing Dreamfall has taken in this thread. I loved every minute of it and really hope FunCom returns to this story eventually.
Procrastinate NOW!! Don't put it off!!

Well, ray, I agree with you regarding Dreamfall, and I think a lot of people really like it. So I for one certainly didn't give up on it, no matter how crazy the action sequences made me sometimes. Dreamfall is one of my favorite games, and Culpa is my favorite game. I couldn't imagine giving up on either one of them. It's just that people have different tastes. I'm not a Myst fan, but that doesn't mean the game itself isn't excellent. It's just suited for people with different tastes, and it's good that there's something for everyone. BubbaJake, I know what you mean about Dreamfall. I still prefer TLJ overall, but I like the fact that Dreamfall was so different and basically has its own feel. I hope the sequel will be made at some point so we can find out what happens there. And, yes, I really hope we will eventually see Culpa part 2! It does seem like there is so much more of that story yet to be told. I get the feeling that part 2 could be even better if it gets more into the storyline.

It's really a good thing we have different "tastes" how else would game makers survive? Some of you think it's horrible that I just can't do Dreamfall right now. I think it's horrible that someone can't do Riven -- one my favorites. I'm enjoying and learning a lot about different games by reading all of your comments. I may have to start prowling around under windows or out in traffic to find those unwanted gems???

Return To Mysterious Island 2 was a disappointment. It was tedious. The first game was great. I replayed it several times. I haven't replayed MI2 yet and I probably won't for a long time. I have to say that Syberia 2 was just as good as 1. I see that Syberia 3 is in the works! I am sure that it too will be a quality game. I will most likely purchase it. Anybody know when it is due to be released?
